Love that Bea and Sand get on so well
"Bird-brain", "birdbath".
Marie's a riot!
She is. "Protection? From that great tub of lard". Truer words could not have been spoken. I love the character and the actress.
Yea. A butch riot.
Marie is in my top 10 for the worst character.Number 1 goes to Allison Page!.
Yeh made me laugh 😂😂
My nickname for Janet is period woman 😂
Note the way the dog looked at the other one in alarm when Dor said she was gonna be their friend lol
I went back to that part and it was so funny
Doreen makes friends with the dogs.
The dogs are woried about Doreen pitting them against each other.😢
😂😂😂
Don't worry Meg, Steve knows just how to "comfort" Sandy.
When Judy says I will not becoming back here. You can't help feeling you have heard this before
Mostly from Lizzie
It's about time Judy has some happiness I hope everything works out for her.
It doesn't. Jock Stewart rapes her in her flat and the direction goes all Alfred Hitchcock with the water going down the plughole. Then he falls down some steps!
The actual state of Judy wobbling across the grass toward the gate at the end😂😂😂
Haha she always waddles like that
Lol 😂
45:00 😆The Teletubby run 😂😭🤣
😂😂😂
Love the sounds of rotary phones ringing and typing on old typewriters....chchchchchch
I put the ringtone on my cell phone for old time sake.
*16:55**-**17:20* I love how maternal Erica is toward Doreen. Erica's character truly cares about Doreen and the other prisoners.
Meg does, too!
6:52 Marie: "Well things are different now Bird Bath so you'd better get used to it" - I love the way she delivers that line so much I'm going to sample it and use it as a ringtone
Bird-Bath 😆😆😆😆
Lmao Judy goes to attack Marie and the officer just stands and watches lol
Grundy would have had to pay her more if she'd been more interactive. 🙂
Marie Winter sounds as though she is trying to channel Franky Doyle.
Thought the same
I love The names Marie comes up with for lizzy ....
Not as funny as Nola's names for Lizzie.
Teddy BEAR? Meg you weirdo. What kind did you expect, a teddy chicken?
I wondered why she kept emphasising the word bear
I know, right?! She says it like that twice, lol.
“Protection from that big tub of lard” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 best one liners …😂
"Protection? From that great tub of lard" I love Marie Winter and that wicked laugh. Can't we feed Doreen to the vicious guard dogs
Animals seem to be a great judge of character. They really take to Doreen. :-)
If I had a dollar when every prisoner said "I won't be back here again".....
You mean every time Doreen says it.
@@MsBananasmel Lizzie as well!! And so dramatic!! 😊❤
Lizzie B actually became institutionalised she kept trying to get sent back! Assist from the story, this does happen to long Term inmates
Yes but you can understand how they feel that’s what is brilliant about the show
Poor Wayne Jarrett dying at 31 from a brain tumour utterly terrible and tragic !!!!
Yes sad
@@AnitaSharma-os4crVery sad indeed 🙏🏻
Yes its hard to believe he died 36 years ago .
Goodness me: Maggie Millar, who plays Mari Winter, is already 40 years old when she first entered the show a few episodes ago. The actress was born in 1941. That makes her older than Bea Smith. She looks a lot younger than that.
Judy's daughter's husband looks like Mr Fletcher. I first thought she got married to Mr Fletcher!
That's hilarious mate, could be his twin!!! Lol.
I didn't think that at all 😕🤷♂️
OMG Me too lol
He was the Fletch wannabe. But actually that actor Andrew Clarke has had a successful career.
He borrowed Fletcher's mustache
Love this storyline with Kate and Sandy
Doreen should remain in the garden with the dogs and the slugs so we can skip her scenes
Meg when she says Teddy Bear lol
Meg has a real strange way of saying 'teddy bear' :p
It was hilarious
It was her reaction
It was her reaction to Lizzie, nothing strange at all, really haha
She also says "cassette" strangely in another episode. I can't stand her voice. She was actually not a very good actress. Wait for the future episode where's she's locked in a booby-trapped warehouse with Anne Reynolds and she flops around on the floor like a fish, screaming: "Help!" really unconvincingly! Absolutely priceless!
Goeff the Letch! A mustache made everyone look the same in those days.
Another actor plays Geoff later in the series and he looks nothing like Geoff number 1.
Oh Jim will be going soon 🙁
3:26 - "Ho ho protection? From that great tub-o-lard!" -hilarious!
"play Misty for me"
Jeremy Doe u
Fletch is Clint Eastwood.
there's always someone walking around in the corridors over hearing things, except when you have something that needs to be over heard 25:00👂
"Your husband, I don't believe it!" Who does Judy think Lori would be on her honeymoon with?
😂😂😂
Yeh it was a strange line. And not very complementary towards Lori. 🤨🤣🤣🤣
Yea, Bryant isn’t the brightest.
Creepy Conway lol
I feel sorry for Lorrie's new husband. What a life he has ahead of him with all of that whinging.
Yea and having that thing as his mother in law
Janet is such a bunny boiler
19:47 - Ooh! Is this the apartment with the staircase that plays a big part in Judy's future? 😮
I believe it was also used as the home of Denise Tyler and her crazy kids, some 150 or so episodes later!! I'm suprised Judy wanted to visit that flat after what happened to Jock on those stairs.
And Judy was never seen again... *Clicks heels together 3 times... Please make it so
“Birdbath”😂😂😂
Poor lizzie birdbath to birdbrain 😂😂
Steve states that Doreen looks as though she's was going to her own execution !! Can't wait to see that episode !!
Dor is so silly. She could have had a great life with Kev. Look at her now...
Yeah he truly loved her and she acted so immature, especially when she'd say, "I never wanna see you again!" He was very patient with her.
I didn't know Lori was married to Jim Fletcher's twin brother!
😂 they do look alike..👍
Doreen crying and hugging that teddy bear saying to Meg Morris "I can't help it, this is so nice, I've never been given anything this nice before" (about the teddy) yet in earlier episodes her Mother spoiled her rotten with gifts and even left her a house and money. Umm ok! Short memory there Dor?
And I'm sorry but Judy and her daughter are always way too close for comfort. I always cringe watching their scenes together.
Fletch should call the cops on that whack job Conway! She's fkn certifiable mate! #fiftyshadesofcraycray right there!
I just love the inconsistencies in Prisoner! Lol
Sam Ryder A close mother daughter relationship.
Nothing wrong with it.
It's lovely.
@@annemacleod4227 Not an inconsistency with Doreen, she just loves being seen as a victim
Yes, I'm getting the idea she's a bunny-boiling fatal Attraction. 😆
Doreen has an enormous need to be loved and cared about due to her abandonment by her mother early in life, been treated badly, she has low self esteem and she hasn't been given extensive therapy which might help rehabilitate her. she's very immature and doesn't know how to take care of herself. ( Telling people to pull themselves up by their boot straps is stupid, un-empathetic, and un-compassionate) Collete does a great job portraying Colleen's character.
Birdbath.......l 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Marie's hilarious .....
The taxi boss looks like Eric morecambe..... 😆
Like jeff's crack about judy being "one of the boys" lol
Anyone else get annoyed at the way Meg says ‘Teddy Bear’ ?!?! 😂
I get annoyed at how she says everything. Her voice gets on my tits!
What a great ending, seeing judy leave. janet is getting to be out of control, why cant she just accept that the relationship with jim is over and move on.
Birdbath....haha😅😂🤣
What in the world did Dor do???? Poor thing certainly hasn't got all her marbles. lol
Laurie: Mum, this is Jeff, Mr Fletchers brother!
"Hey; birdbrain!" "Hey; birdbath!" Marie is kooky. I love her character.. I don't know why but I do. Besides the best actress' that play the bad ones are usually the nicest people in real life, I heard that she's an artist and I believe she lost her husband a while back.I see Laurie is back, And her husband Geoff is a good looking man too. That place must be cold as the Antarctic. I love the way Meg said Teddy Bear, like a question. Those sure are beautiful creatures. The German Shephards. And Doreen will charm them to love her. The flat that Laurie and Geoff found for Jude is nice. It looks great compared to some of the crummy looking ones over here in America. We call them apartments.Did someone watch this program and get the idea of the movie Fatal Attraction from these episodes? Because Janet's getting crazier in every episode lately. Poor Sandy!
👍
I had one like the lighter brown one but she passed away while ago they are beautiful dogs
Meg. Says teddy BEAR like a question
Yay Judy finally got out! I also wonder what happened to Doreen, as satisfying as it is
Janet is getting psychotic. I get that Jim put out mixed signals (giving her s key, accepting the gifts despite protest), but a level-headed person wouldn't react like she did, even then.
Merilee S Would have liked Fletch to have stayed with Caroline.
Thank God Sasquatch is going!
As Vera would say she'll be back.
When Judy pases up and down her cell it's so frustrating to watch
Geoff must be related to Fletch, i thought it was him at first! Dead ringer.
The way Meg says “teddy bear” is really annoying. I much prefer Ericas Meemo
Lori's husband looks like Jim Fletchers brother
the kitchen quieter than the laundry....I don't think so.
I thought exact same thing
Maybe quieter in terms of tension?
Why does Meg pronounce teddy bear like that? Teddy BEAR?! Almost as though she wouldn’t bat an eyelid if it was a Teddy Aardvark. I’ve never heard any native English speaker say it like that before. English, American or Australian. It’s like the weird way she says CASSette player as well. Odd.
Things will go well for Judy till one day they will have a day out at the races.
the way Meg says teddy bear is odd to me.
Patrick Nabors teddy beer-ah
Jamie Nelson I’m from adelaide and I’ve never heard it said like that either
I've never heard it pronounced like that either. I'm from NSW.
You get odd people like that who put stress on the wrong part of the word. I've heard people say "hot DOGS" too many times - I love eating HOT dogs, but if I saw a hot DOG I'd give it a bowl of water 🙄
Me too. But I am from the south eastern part of the United States, therefore many things they say are different. I can't decipher between a normal accent for y'all or if a person just says words differently. But I love listening to that and learning Australian culture. Y'all are amazing.
When meg says "teddy bear"
Her reaction is priceless!!!!!!!!!!
That teddy bear comment!32:38 42:22
The Crew is back together Bea, Doreen, Jude and Lizzy
I am very glad to see Judy leave. I hope she doesn't come back.
She does
Kate seems to have a split personality. On one hand, she's a 2 faced snake in the grass yet she also seems to periodically show genuine concern for the other women's welfare.
Was surprised that Jude was complaining about accumulating too much stuff to take out with her, thought that prisoners weren't allowed to. In the film about Cass Pennant the West Ham football hooligan, he had been writing his memoirs when he was doing time, but he was forced to throw them away before he was released.
Teddy2 ~ The Sequel.
Wow he really does look like Jim Fletcher
JIM FLETCHER GOT HIS BROTHER A JOB!
17:35 - I love how Dave-O says "back to normal" - IT'S A PRISON, not a girls' school😆😆😆😆 or even a fleabag diner, right Max and Caroline?
jeez, it really is getting dark in there, turn the bloody lights up a bit please?
When it was really bright before it looked so weird though, it's better dark!
Right? No point on using a set... can’t tell what’s in the background anyway
@@AmandaEm7 - I wouldn't really disagree with you there, Manda. It was all part of the show's charm. So, you prefer the dark look hey? It definitely gives the show a bit more authenticity, and the videotape used for shooting wasn't always accompanied with consistent lighting setups.
Why is it always so damn dark in that place? I can barely see poor Sandy in the cell. I feel so sorry for Sandy. It's good that she finally broke down, she needs some mates to help her through the grieving progress."It's a teddy BEAR!" How funny does that sound? I love dogs too. I have been afraid of a few dogs, my former neighbors Pekingese. He was a very mean dog, he would bite anyone, and my grandma's mixed breed dog named Scooby, he was crazy and bit everyone.
It adds to the atmosphere. I think before too long they brighten it up a lot more.
The scene between Jude and Meg and the teddy bear had to be re shot several times because they both kept laughing.
Are those outtakes available to watch anywhere? I'm curious to know how you found out about it.
@@ajs41 Betty talked about it in her book. I haven't seen any bloopers showing it, but did read the story in her book.
Just a little observation... Why would there be so much typewriter noise in the taxi office??? The same sound effects tape used in later episodes, the despatch office and right at the end in the police station...
And nobody answering the phone!! Not a very good taxi firm if they don't answer 😁
Judy should have changed her diaper before she ran like that!
Yes Doreen you always are a bit of a whinger.
OMG! I just noticed Fletch has grown a moustache!
6 years later and I can't believe it!!
Bloody hell I know it was low budget but you'd think they'd at least spring for a light above the press. What were they thinking? What was their rationale for keeping the TOP DOG in complete darkness like that? You have to imagine a director looking at that scene and thinking "yep - perfect - start rolling" - huh? Weird.
Sandy didn't seem too concerned for her husband when she was bonking Officer Fawkner.
So happy for Judy. Doreen needs to talk to Lizzie & Bea about what happened at Barn hurst. xx
I kinda hoped I'd seen the last of bloody Doreen 😂
Winter needs a good old fashioned full on beat down, one bad enough to not just break her face and a few other things but her spirit too.
She scares me.
Winter is a Rottweiler in a wig
Why the hell they wrote scenes with Judy running in them I'll never know. Her diaper is still full.
She wasn't a natural runner for sure
I didn't like Judy's character first time around. But, I like her character this time. Because; I'm looking at her in a different way. Not just focusing on her appearance and walk.
Where in Melbourne is Judy's flat? Looks very 60s / 70s architecture. I think it's the place where Jock Stewart falls down the steps!
37:55 As soon as the paper work is completed, YOU MEY GO!
How do you tell someone you work with "I don't want to see you again" see fletch, that's why you don't ever shit where you eat
Birdbrain. Birdbath. Bird table. Bird seed. Bird cage. Bird watcher. Any more?
Bird Flu
Later on she'll be called Wrinkles and Granny, by two different prisoners.
Bird legs.
Judys son in law seems to know a lot abt parole boards
Because he's Jim's brother. Lololololol.
He googled it
Doreen's going to have them guard dogs soft a shit lol.
I think I'll start using these labels for labels in my mobile contract list, avoiding letting the renamed person seeing the list, like someone who saw their description of 'Gay Boy J***' on my mate's directory!! Could have been worse, previously it had been 'Thieving Wanker J** ***', which one would offend more I wonder?.
Marie, not Myra. Myra comes into it again later. Both great characters!
Doreen will give the dogs names. Bea and Judy😂.
I must say that Judy's son in law Jeff is quite a looker! And, I wouldn't mind having a go at him.
He was in a few Aussie series.anzacs I think . definitely sons and daughters
Imagine "Po face" if she was more like officer Miles from Wentworth 😂😂
They look similar and act somewhat the same.
Birdbath has Mari
Winter's signiture.
Wow, hello Geoff
what is up with the video quality for this episode ?? Dark, jumpy and grainy....
Belvedere Bailey
I only find it a bit dark but that has always been part of its charm. I very much doubt real prisons are much different. If its a light show you want, may I recommend Blackpool Illuminstions (last weekend of August - first weekend of November) or Las Vegas?
@@nickprince9881 - Yeah, dead right Nick. There's a little more authenticity to the darker episodes, it's part of the show's charm as you rightly said. The videotape used for shooting wasn't always accompanied with consistent lighting setups. The DVD releases contained the same darkness at times, so there's nothing irregular here.
Dark? Yes, OK. Grainy? Umm, at times. Jumpy? Not so sure about that one, I'me not experiencing it. I can point out that the DVD releases contained the same lighting levels in the episode we're discussing here, and in various others too. These versions are the property of Fremantle International, and we have reliable information that these copyright protected videos come from primary sources.
I. Like. Bea Smith
SURELY THEY COULD HAVE FOUND SOMEONE OTHER THAN FLETCH TO DOUBLE AS JUDYS DAUGHTERS HUSBAND HOW STUPID DO THEY THINK WE ARE .
Hahahahhaha
Marie calling someone a tub of lard. "That's calling the kettle black". Mari needs to look in the mirror 😅
