Kev you're a true tonester. I think you could get good tone out of a cigar box guitar a cheap radio shack Mike wired in to a karaoke play station. Wish I knew ya.
I would go with a used Epi Les Paul. I've got my hands on a made in korea les paul custom and realy like it. The old ones can sound a little bit muffled pickup and electronics change can help but i just raised the polepieces on mine what gives me a nice vintagy sound. 🙂👍 I paid 299€ for it but you can get the newer ones for 250 if you have luck.

Love it. I like their telecasters too. Great color. I got a white telecaster Nashville edition. Great playing sounds good. Subscribed.
