@twobiased - Atually no, latin country are one of the only places which use guitar as a main instrument, no only harmony. i frickinng study music. Obvious that other countrys do play the guitar but most of the latin america countrys use as their main instrument.

That depends of which genre would you like to listen. I really don't know so much about mexican hip-hop and rap music, because it's not my favorite genre, so i'm afraid i only can recommend you the most comertial songs and groups that i know, the only example i know is "Cartel de Santa", but just their firsts songs and other ones of the 2000's like "NTN, En mi ciudad, La pelotona, El dolor del micro, El arte del engaño".
If you are interesed hearing traditional mexican music, you can start listening to the most popular songs like "la llorona", a traditional song from Oaxaca:

I know much about classical mexican music than the modern one, i'm still discovering some bands and artists in other musical genres (like rock or metal for example) but i did my best with these recommendations, i really hope you like to listen it, or at least having a good time.

@@S4rc3 I think you overdid it a little, but very informative. I like mariachi but I don't know much... The first band that comes to my mind when I say Mexico is nothing like that (it's Molotov) I think I'll give some of those a try.

@Muco Muco only because Americans assigned these to be stereotypes and the rest of the world follows the Americans. For example, "jarabe tapatío" you will never hear in Mexico, yet because Americans associate that song with Mexico, the rest of the world believes so too.
