That scene with all the users signify how ofa is as strong as it is because of all the previous users passing on and strengthening the power. And in this moment their will is giving deku all this power to fight back.
It baffles me how many people do not get the concept of shifting gears like in a car to understand what Deku is doing, similar concert as you shifting gears going up in a car to get it to go faster and lower gears at times to slow down at moments lol
The music cutting off as Deku saw Bakugo's body genuinely gave me chills. We've seen before how Deku feels about Bakugo. When Monoma insulted him in JT, Deku flew into a rage and Blackwhip emerged. When he was pierced in PLW, Deku raged and began to attack wildly. And now seeing him here next to his bloody All Might card, Deku is about to rage again and be an easy target for AFO. But Mirio is there to calm him down. Mirio helps Deku realize Bakugo is still alive. The heroes haven't lost anything yet. Speaking of Deku, we've finally seen his last quirk. Gearshift. The 2nd user's quirk. Formerly used to speed up small things. But now is the shift in battle. The rift between AFO and Tenko is widening. Speaking of AFO, he seems to have some history with the 2nd. He had tears in his eyes while looking at him. The first time we've ever seen AFO cry. Which now makes his reaction to Bakugo make sense. The 2nd user didn't have OFA anymore when AFO got his hands on him. He just had a small quirk. Yet he was able to evoke such a reaction from AFO. Bakugo doesn't have OFA. He's like the 2nd. He should be an extra. A nobody. But said extra without OFA was able to stand up against him. He was getting stressed out because he was reminded of the 2nd user in Bakugo's fighting spirit. The 2nd user who smirked at him even as he was being choked. Now Deku has smashed a hole in AFO's chest. Like how Bakugo had his own chest smashed open. But AFO thinks to himself that he hasn't had the chance to use any quirks yet. He hasn't had a chance to use his body yet. But there's still a chance at victory for him. He just has to bet everything on Spinner.
Quick little detail about Deku's Black Whip scarf thing: In the manga, the Black whip Deku wraps around his mouth area is glowing with what looks like Fa Jin's energy. The implication here was that Deku was moving the blackwhip around his mouth area to build up Fa Jin energy, which he then uses to make Black Chain. This is why the Blackwhip scarf disappears after Deku uses Black Chain.
Yeah I had the same thought, a lot of people who only watch the anime also tend to miss what happened when Deku hit him during the "Detroit Smash Quintuple" Some people thought it was just 5 times the amount of power in one punch. But after revealing that he "stored energy" after doing that move, it clearly means that Deku hit him 5 times with the same arm for repetitive movement to use fa jin.
*Introducing Gearshift! If I’m being honest, it might be one of my favorite quirks. It’s almost perfect for rescues and for combat, meaning it might be the perfect tool for saving Shigaraki. We’ll see…*
I though no quirk would be better than blackwhip but gear shift is dope as hell, easily the best of all the quirks Deku has however i'm scared for the backlash it will have, the second user warned Deku to only use it in the fight and even now he mentioned that now that he's using it he HAS to defeat Shigaraki, the backlash for this quirk must be HEAVY
Nice discussion guys one little thing to take away from this ep all for one really loves his brother (the crying and other stuff) also I'm glad yall get the message from this ep that most people even manga readers overlooked one for all is dangerous man it really isn't a good thing due to one for alls own singularity and nature brings so much societal issues as well.
And Deku STILL isn't going all-out. He's going as hard as he can without hurting himself. 45% Full Cowling combined with Blackwhip, Fa Jin, and Gearshift boost that to 120%, stronger than All Might EVER WAS. But if he REALLY went all-out, he'd be approaching if not exceeding 300%
the reason (i'm guessing) that Gear Shift can only be used for 5 minutes is because if you use it for longer then 5 minutes you'll die of literal old age. Gear Shift speeds up every cell within his body, cells can only divide a set number of times, if you reach the end its over.. not like he'd turn old but he'd just fall apart^^'
Using it for more than 5 minutes puts extreme strain on his body because of the instantaneous extreme acceleration and decelaration. It needs to be recharged with a long resting period before it can be used again.
I liked the episode but for some reason I was left a little underwhelmed. I'm assuming it's because this doesn't feel like the final fight. There were a lot of flashbacks and reused content from previous epic fights (Muscular and Overhaul in particular). I wanted to see more combination quirk attacks like black whip and Fa Jin ( blackchain). I'm surprised that even with all the force multipliers Midoriya has he hasn't used smokescreen as a ranged weapon. Smokescreen + Fa Jin/Gearshift is a force cannon or nuke and a replacement for Air force. It's also confusing that he barely if ever uses Fa jin on his hands. I'm sure black whip + smokescreen would be crazy creative. In short, I just wanted to see a bit more creativity in how Midoriya applied his quirks.
He did use Fa Jin with Gearshift in his fist in this episode. It’s what he calls Overdrive. He stored Fa Jin on his right arm while he was punching Shigaraki with the same motion while increasing the gears. Then used both Gearshift and Fa Jin for that 120% Overdrive smash. Then he used it again at the final smash which broke Shigaraki's rib cage.
@@Aranya1998 Ah I see, I probably just misinterpreted what I saw. I thought he was still using Fa Jin on his legs for speed and power and then Gearshift for even greater speed which is what I thought overdrive was. Thanks for the clarification.
@@VandalVortex Yes, it can be difficult to interpret what is happening since they happen so fast in the episode. But if you look carefully, you can see his right arm glowing with red Fa Jin energy at several points. When he uses it on his legs there is a signature red shockwave ring shown afterwards by which we can tell if he is using Fa Jin for speed boosts.

It's literally very basic in it's application and so easy to understand. The anime even gave it that sound for emphasis.
