Great video Tampa Jay. Fun fact my great aunt Margaret Pellegrini was in the Wizard of Oz. She played a Munchkin. She was married to my uncle Willie. She's one of the Munchkins in the birds nest and can be seen with a flower pot on her head in another scene.
Back in my day, The Wizard of Oz was kinda a big deal. It would be on TV once a year & us kids would all gather at the home with the biggest screen. This was the 60's 😮. Not all the stuff on TV was in color back then & the movie was amazing to us. I had a Dorothy Doll but can't remember what happened to it 😢. What an awesome museum. As always thx 4 taking us all along on your adventure
I had the same experience of the “annual Wizard of Oz” movie as a child in the late 80s! Such a great memory.
You got mad dancing skills Mr. The Tampa Jay
I was obsessed with the Wizard of Oz when I was a kid. I was in two different productions of it when I was a drama student and knew all the lyrics… I’d be so happy to visit this museum! Thanks for the tour Jay 😊
Thanks for taking us. I wanted to visit this place.
Watch it as a kid...with my kids..and my grandkids....thanks Mr Jay
Im going to take my granddaughter to that museum.I never knew it was there. Good video.
Just as one of your first comments said this really was a big deal “back in my day “ same generation! And the scene with the flying monkeys and soldiers heading into the castle with the song you were singing was terrifying as a kid and added to the thrill of the moment! We also had a Cairn Terrier dog named Toto! The Museum was Very nostalgic for many of us. Very cool 😎
Sat my elementary aged boys down in front of the TV to watch “Wizard of Oz” thinking I was exposing them to a cinematic cultural experience they would forever thank me for….soon they started to cry in horror and to this day (they are both in their 20s now), they claim I was trying to scar them emotionally. I never did win “Mom of The Year”. 😂😂😂😂 Bless their hearts.
What a coincidence you posted this video as I just watched the movie for the first time in 30 years on HBOMax. A true classic, thanks for sharing, TJ.
We did the same thing in the 80’s. My mom and I couldn’t wait to watch it once a year. It was very special. ❤😊 Good times.
Awesome video Tampa Jay 🦩.
I got the movie on DVD.
Hopefully you & Cris can visit other OZ museums around the country?
Especially Liberal Kansas, I think Adam The Woo visited that museum. It takes you through the scenes of the movie.
The Museum looked so cool! So much memorabilia in there. The pizza looked good.
They are in my prop queue, We have been discussing me making them a Glenda good witch in her huge gown, as soon as I have the time. I love the wizard of oz!
We went right after they opened and again back in March. Wonderful!
So cool to see these rare items from the props to one of Judy's dresses. About a year ago, I went to see this Judy tribute concert at Carnegie Hall that Jesssica Vosk (The 15th Anniversary "Elphaba" from Wicked) headlined, and they had in the museum (during intermission) the actual jacket that Judy wore at her famous 1961 Carnegie Hall show. So beautiful and all the details on the sequences.
Hello from Gatlinburg Tennessee Mr Jay...Those Rays looking SHARP 🪒🐻🌄🏞️
OMG I collect A Christmas story village plus wizard of oz! Thank you for sharing ✌️ I can't believe how cheap they're compared to the Poconos.

It looks like Dorothy raided my closet lol! I have the same slippers and Toto in my bedroom 😂
Wow!The immersive exhibit was freaking sick !!!
I loved this movie great memories ❤ thanks jay
Watched this video and noticed when you were browsing the gift case at 4:17 into the video there's a tin man mug that's in front of a photo of the ruby slippers. I happen to have that mug, it's plastic, I went to a production of wizard of Oz on ice and got a snow cone in that mug. I wish there was a way for me to include a photo of my mug. Loved the video, that's one of my favorite movies, I know practically every line.
We're thinking the yellow brick road could have been a bit longer...but this was a great find!
Not roses in the basket with Toto Jay, they’re Poppies! Love this video, cool weird place just like the movie!
hi Tampa jay been a lot busy this one of my best love movies wizard of oz
Wow this awesome Jay! Wizard of Oz was my favorite movie as a kid. This place looks so cool. Thanks for documenting it. That takes me back. Also Cocoa beach was one our first trips to florida as well.
I remember this movie and it's one of my favorite movies.
Huge fan of The Wizard of Oz since I was a kid. I wanted the Ruby slippers and Glinda’s dress, the bad witch is my ultimate fav. Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs also has a Dorthy dress.
Everytime she is in your videos she looks more beautiful every time. Love both your videos ❤❤
This is a amazing place I will visit someday love you guys
I absolutely love the Wizard Of OZ and big fan loved watching the movies of it after this I think I'm going to re watch them the tour of the Wizard Of Oz was completely epic I really enjoyed it and also love Judy Garland also besides as an actress she also is a singer amazes me that I seen her in a concert over here in Nelson BC with my dad that was a while back but overall I really enjoyed watching this video
If you think the wizard of Oz museum is pretty cool you should come to Grand rapids, Minnesota. There is a Judy Garland museum there you can check out and her childhood home is connected to it as well.
Here in Western North Carolina. They have a Land of Oz. It opens once of twice a year. Very nice place to visit. They have live characters yellow brick road hauted forests etc.
Awesome video!❤️
Loved it, Great vlog, cheers
wow that place looks super fun, lots of cool stuff ^_^
@Tampa Jay - Great video!! This movie was such a big deal when I was child. Born in the 70’s, child in the 80’s. My mom and I would wait all year for the wizard of Oz to come on. Our whole family would watch it. Once a year, it was such a great time!I wish they could get a cash infusion to that museum. Did you know that there used to be an entire theme park dedicated to the Wizard of Oz? I had never been, but I had seen a video about it. I think it was in the Carolinas? If you Google it, I’m sure it will come up. Such a shame Disney didn’t make an on property mini-museum at WDW since they scrapped the Big Movie ride. There are still plenty of Gen X’ers that would like it and would love a meet and greet with the characters. A friend of mine’s daughter just played the Wicked Witch in her high school play. The cast did a public appearance at the local Barnes and Noble and everyone loved her! People like interacting with villains and they pretend to be scared. Of course some of the younger audience actually is. 😅
Thanks so much for a wonderful video! Love from Indiana. 😊❤
Awesome video love the wizard of oz
Freakin awesome Tampa jay! This is my son’s favorite movie. We definitely enjoyed watching this. Thank you Tampa jay
Now you are in my neighborhood! The immersive has changed since I was there. I will have to check it out.
I loved this visit to the Wizard of Oz Museum! I guess it is fairly new because I don't remember seeing it in the 1990's when we went to that area a lot. The high school in my town just performed the Wizard of Oz and I covered it for our newspaper. Kids did great and I am still humming tunes! When I was a girl I watched the movie with Judy Garland every year just before Christmas. I can remember my Mom giving me a box of Christmas cards that she had made out and had to stick stamps on them all while watching the program. That is also when we stuck Green Stamps into the booklets. Thanks for sharing!
All we owe, we owe her!
Thanks awesome place
I hope you both get to go back there together sometime, and you can dance with each other in the room with the screens. It looks a little romantic in there.
Hahaha you guys were in my neck of the woods. Yeah Cocoa, Cocoa beach and Canaveral groves are alllll different places if you’re local. Preacher bar is about a 1/4 mile from my moms and their fav bar 😂 this was fun as this oz store has always been a bit odd lol
I Read the Series back in the Early 80s; my Freshman year in High School and have Enjoyed Absolutely Everything OZ Related. Also, read Both WICKED Novels by Gregory Maguire; and have seen the Stage Show in Peoria, Twice. OZ the Great & Powerful was Very, Very Good. As, was the SyFy series TINMAN. In the 80s there was a Comedy Movie called, 'Under the Rainbow' based on some of the Antics of the Munckin Actors. It Was a Crane used by Stagehands that got left on set during filming of those scenes. Of, course The Wiz, Return to OZ, NBC's Live Wizard of OZ, and The Muppets version are All Very Ingenius 😎👍
Awesome location! I had no idea there was a Wizard of Oz museum. ❤️
That pizza looks delicious! 😋😋
Thank you for sharing this video.
Hugs to you and Cris! 🤗
Safe travels headed home. 🙏
I just wanted to add that the movie "Rosemarys Baby" was also filmed at the Dakota.
Absolutely mentioned that when I was there at The Dakota a couple weeks back. So good.
There is two museums of the wizard of Oz in Kansas I live in Kansas and I so love the wizard of Oz ❤
The way you say museum. It's so cute. I am a southern girl South Tampa to be exact and say mu seeeee um. It sounds very different. Lol
Mornin Jay!!
Super!
Ha! Lets take a look around TJ.
Wow this is so cool. I would live to visit this place sometime. Wizard of Oz is one of my ALL time favorite movies. As well as one of my daughters and now one of my granddaughters favorite movies. The movie is truly a Classic . Thank You Jay for taking us along with you. Awesome vlog. 💕
Thank you Sandy
Great video Jay. My mom read the Wizard of Oz to me as a child. I don’t remember any of it, just the movie. My scruffy black dog was named Winkie, after the guards! Fun fact about the movie. During the forest scene where the trees are throwing apples, you get a very quick glimpse of the guy working the arms of one of the trees! I’ve only caught it once. It’s that quick.
Fun video ❤🎉
That was awesome. Better than the one in KS.
I live right across the street. My house is in your video 😂
Hey Jay!!! What's up !Was a big fan of Wizards of Oz when i was a kind and kinda still! still love the movie Would love tk check it out one day !!! Wizard ofOz was a huge deal back time ago!!!
Did ya know a Minnesota man was JUST indicted for stealing Dorothy’s ruby slippers ( 1 of 4 pairs) from Judy Garlands personal museum in Minneapolis? Long time coming!!
It's a shame all the stuff that happened during the movie's production happened, but the movie itself is wonderful, and while I haven't seen it in some time, I'd never turn down a reason to watch it.
I actually bumped into three munchkins and got their autograph..
It was at a mall near me and I never knew about it 🤔 Glad I went that day!
Edit I have a good book and fun fact 👋 toto was paid more money 💰
cool
Visited once! It's a decent place but there was very little about the movie. Mostly about the books. Lots of potential.
OZ Land in Beech Mountain N.C is the place to go. It’s amazing and has the yellow brick road
I took my kids there when they were little. So much fun. They are open a few weekends in the fall. Wish I could go!
I live by this. It's actually in Cape Canaveral.
You brought up Christmas story scene, did you know the woman played the witch was from Cleveland as well
You are cool 😎
Let's get it J
Had no idea this was close in cocoa beach. The Disney movie from the 80s should be a horror movie lol
Ilike the Wizard of Oz....
I like the Tin Man..
I’m surprised nobody has done a movie on one the other books
❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
😬 The movie still holds up
💥💯💛💛💛
There is a wizard of oz land in North Carolina with a long yellow brick road to walk on
To Baker Banter wizard of oz thing you might like from Chris Abram
The Muppet version uses the most source material
whats wrong with the chicago or NY style pizza? it looks like deep dish chicago? I didn't know there were scenes from wizard of oz movie filmed in florida.. interesting to know that
I’m surprised they aren’t playing music from the movie in the background🤔Copyright issue probably🥴
You didn’t say about I dream of Jeannie star Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman also played JR Ewing on Dallas the son of Mary Martin that played Peter Pan took place in Cocoa Beach / Cape Canaveral there a Air Force base there in the the Wizard of Oz part Buddy Ensenada from Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones was the original Tin Man before Jack Haley and Judy Garland daughter is Liza Minnelli was in Arthur 1 and 2 along with Dudley Moore and you and Cris the girl need to come to Los Angeles again and need to take a Sony tour in Culver City where Wizard of Oz was made it used to be MGM
