Sandy Lane June 2024 Update - it's still not open!

  • It's been a year now. No, I'm not joking, it's still closed. The patch of land needed to join the 2 pieces of roads together still hasn't been sorted. Possibly the dangerous driveway has been sorted - see video for details. All this seems wrong, but still the house building continues. Residents and businesses still frustrated.

It’s actually open! In Kislingbury after having ridden down here on the moped. It’s not great, but it’ll have to do 👍🏼

Great footage Clare, always grateful for the updates! This development is a complete shambles, embarrasing. The roundabout that leads to the old Sandy Lane will have so much backlog of traffic. Terrible... lets hope for an opening date soon, just to ease the congestion on Harpole.

If they do open it, it wont stop people running through Harpole and St Crispin’s because it’ll be a nightmare. Totally fed up now

Thanks again Clare your footage has always been a great help so meny roads now coming off the old sandy lane the cronical and echo saying opening 28th June unless I read it wrong and that the it has taken so long partly due to unauthorised development dont understand that as why was the council not checking and signing off developments off roads at stages also such a shame about the plant nursery there has been a business there for a very long time years and should be compensated as should duston and harpole which wouldn't happen but why put the council tax up again should have left it as was for 2024 the whole thing has been a disaster a lesson on how not to negotiate with developers

Glad there's a sign saying, 'unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles'. They'd never get around the sharp corner!

Hey Clare, it's Logan from the Chron and Echo. Great footage. Are we ok to use your video again, please. Trying to put pressure on this week for a confirmed opening date. Thank you

Yes of course. It’s all gone a bit quiet. I’d like to know how they think the Lodge Farm lorries are going to navigate this detour, or if the current diversion will continue.

Hey Logan, just FYI I live in St Giles Park in Duston, and my name is spelled incorrectly, there is no 'r' in my surname.... thanks
