You may also want to run a firmware update on your actual DualSense controller before connecting to a PS3. Here's a video on how to do that. ruclips.net/video/rbboc5WaR5o/видео.html
Just as a note. The biggest drawback to using a DualSense controller on PS3, is that it is incompatible with PlayStation 2 Games on Backwards Compatible Systems. This is due to the way the PS3 switches processors and will effectively stop connection with controllers briefly to switch to running PS2 games. You can press the PS Button and it will connect to the PS3, but no control inputs will register on a PS2 game with DualSense. I tested this on Dragon Quest VIII, which cannot get past the "No DualShock 2 Controller found" screen. Plugging it in wired, will not rectify the issue. it is extremely likely you will end up being shipped a chinese knock-off controller from Amazon if you try to order a PS3 Controller through them, even if the Seller or Distributor is Amazon.
If you have two ps5 controllers, plug one of them in and do setup option 2 to connect one via Bluetooth. Then use the Bluetooth connected one to repeat the process with the controller that was previously plugged in!
ugh motion controls are a plague to gaming. I mean, if the feature is the main selling point like on the Wii I get it and it’s fine but games like killzone is just an unnecessary stupid way to turn a damn valve 🙄🙄🙄
*motion controls WERE a gimmicky plague back in the day, nowadays, the hardware inside controllers is much better of what they used to be, and since the times of Splatoon, aiming with gyro is getting serious, combined with flick stick its just more precise and faster than normal aiming with the stick, and the best way to get rid of the real plague that is aim assist in modern gaming

Can't play Gran Turismo 5, other games work but I don't care... 😭
Dear HowtoX, a brook wingman Xe2 adapter makes a dualsense a fully compatible DualShock 3. I love it! Rumble, gyro and home button all work
Yeah, that may end up being a second tutorial. I wanted to make a basic tut first.
But can you use this in recovery mode?
This is a really good summary. Thanks.
Who said it’s not playable on the PS3 the PS3 can use even the PS4 controller it’s the PS4 console that won’t work with the PS5 controller
Many many many people say it all the time.
@@HowToX well their wrong it’s only the PS4 console that won’t let you use any other controller
This is great, I had no idea. I'm sure you already know this, but all aspects of this guide also apply to the Dualshock 4.

Highly engaging!

This is a good point. I only recently discovered that I can do that.
Thought the Killzone movement stuff with the controller was a waste.
Basically it's only of use as a second controller in a multiplayer scenario.
I use it for multiplayer all the time with no other controller.
If they came out with a new modern Killzone that had quality like StarWars battlefront or battlefield that’s a day 1 preorder
Who ever would have known the Sony PS3 can use PS5 controllers and the fact sony. Made the software updates for it to use them.
My controller does not connect how do i fix it
Also it's a bit glitchy in god of war 3 ... Kratos suddenly stops regardless of me pushing left analog forward
I can't play any games with the duelsense
What do you mean?
@@HowToX i want to play cod on the ps3 but the controller won't react to anything but it does on the ps3 hub
@@HowToX that the duelsense does not work on my games i can't click on anything but when i'm not playing a game it works
Ps3xbad Also work to
I just use a Cronus Zen. Simple as that, and play wireless
Not working man

U forgot lair 😆
Two sources say it was patched out.
@@HowToX amazing, wonder why players keep complaining about it
Thank God tired of my PS3 controller
