Yes old grease can get real gummy and in some instances get down right hard, and can hamper little motors and gearboxes from doing there thing. Pretty nasty stuff as I showed on the Q-tip. Thank you for your comment glad to help.
That's great these piano snowmen are the most problematic of all the series. I have them all but one, The Cozy Christmas selfie. Don't forget to take out the batteries. Thank you for your comment. 😀
@ he hasn’t had batteries inside of him in a long time but the last time he had batteries, he still worked as normal lol so i assume he definitely still works
@@alisonmcgregor2002 Yes give it a try see if he still works. Main thing is that you removed the batteries when you store it. Thank you for your comments.
@@mikecomptech to be honest we have a lot of other singing christmas toys lol. if i had to estimate i think we have about 17 of them? or something idk. we did leave the batteries in them for a while. a long time. but 2ish years ago we decided to store them without batteries. only a few of the toys’s batteries had leaked. not all of them. maybe like, 3 of them? had leaked batteries. well, not all of the singing toys had DEAD batteries in them. some of the batteries still worked. even if they were very old. 2 of the toys i cleaned with white vinegar but i havent tested them to see if they still work. i assume they do though. or at least i hope. the point is, none of the corrosion was bad enough to eat away at the metal. which is a good thing. one of the singing christmas toys actually had a battery that leaked, but the toy was still singing lmao. it’s like the batteries still had power (11 or 12 year old batteries or something. it was even still the demo batteries too i think) recently i’ve been taking the batteries out of my old toys (like my furreal friends, A LOT OF ZHU ZHU PETS lol, and etc) and i’ve been cleaning them with vinegar if needed. not many of them have leaked but a few have. and so far, once again, none of the corrosion has been bad enough to destroy the metal or break the springs. i have a ton of zhu zhu pets that had their batteries corrode. almost all of them have corrosion and i need to clean them with white vinegar and stuff lol. but once again, none of the metal got eaten away. so, that hasn’t happened to me in my experience. so far lol
@@alisonmcgregor2002 Yes that's good and the white vinegar is great for cleaning and stopping further damage to the battery box. It's funny how some batteries are several years old and can have a charge still left in them. And that can apply to some of the original factory batteries. I have seen some so badly corroded the springs are gone, amazing what the battery chemical can do over the years. Another great story thank you.
We've had ours since 2005, and someone stripped the screw to the battery compartment and we can't get it off. My now adult kids are so bummed, LOL. Can't think of what we might be able to use to get it out. Thoughts?
You may have to drill it out. Or if you can still get a Phillips screw driver and it just spins, take a small flat screw driver and pry the tab to the battery compartment upward while trying to unscrew it. Hope this helps got to these Jingle Pals running 😄Thank you for the question. Happy Holidays !
I have the jingle pals 2 dancing snowman 2008 I believe and it was working until my toddler spilled orange juice on the base. When I turn the switch to on, it moves for a second, but when I push the button nothing happens anymore. Is there any way to fix it? He loves it and I really want to fix it for him
Oh boy, orange juice it has sugar content and it is acidic. And if it sat like this for a period of time that's going to set up like glue, the sugar is bad indeed. And the base may have soaked up the OJ so it's in the poly fill base. Pop out the batteries clean that area really good warm soap and water. I hope you can get it going, and if you can't you might look on Ebay they are plentiful there. Thank you for your question.
my snowman has a noticeable smell when the motor is running, like electrical wiring, or like something is burning. even when powered off the snowman smells terrible. is that normal?
No that is not normal. Are you the original owner ? Just saying, if you bought it used it may have pickup a smell from a previous owner or a place it was stored or kept in. It also can be the smell of the motor and the old lubricant. if it is running and you hear the music and not draining the batteries at a fast rate then doubtful it's a major issue. And if you compare the speed of the animation on yours, look on RUclips, and if that's normal that's good. Thank you for your question.
I think mine has a problem with the battery box. Trying to take plate off inside of the piano to clean everything out. Bought it used and it looks like theirs battery leaks. It will sometimes work, but they cut out mid song. Thanks for the video
Yes the human element leaving batteries in these things is bad indeed. Clean it some more get the contacts as clean as you can. Thank you for the comment.
@@mikecomptech I seem to have got it working perfectly. I put the cover in a glass full of vinegar for about 3 hours. Removed all the acidity and got the snowman working perfectly. Just thought other may want to see this. Thanks again!!
Yes that's good in the respect the motor is not froze up. But the belt that runs from the motor to the gear box has lost it's tension over the years. It will need to be replaced, so if you want it working it will have to be disassembled. The motor belt is in the front cover in the snowman it's major surgery if you are not a fix it type person, but give it a try, you can do it. 😀 Thanks for your comment and question.

Have you changed the batteries? Also it can be the motor is being slowed by the old lubricant over the years it dries out. That is what was wrong with the one I fixed.
