📌@00:05 Dana Grey Kirk was Head Coach at the then Memphis State University (Now University of Memphis) from 1979-1986, with a coaching record of 158-58, including a Final Four appearance in 1985. He built The Tigers into a national powerhouse. There was a huge legalized conspiracy surrounding his stint at the university concerning his recruiting tactics. Coach Dana Kirk passed away in 2010 at the age of 74.

📌@5:30 Andre Turner is definitely a Memphis legendary basketball player. He's had an extensively active basketball career, with 7 of those professionals years belonging to the NBA. Turner is now serving as head coach at Lane College in Jackson, TN.
@5:52 Keith Lee was arguably the hottest college basketball player in Memphis and easily recognizable in other states, back in the early 80's to mid 80's. The guy even had one of the most popular dolls of that era made in his honor, The Cabbage Patch Doll, by Coleco. (Limited edition). He was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round (11th pick overall ) in 1985 NBA draft, later to be traded by the Cavaliers. Lee played in 3 NBA seasons for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New Jersey Nets. He's currently giving back to the city that welcomed him with open arms, by actively acting as head coach of a popular highschool located in Memphis, TN.🏀

Yep! I was in the same classroom as his granddaughter at "Graves Elementary" located in Whitehaven, back in the late 80's. Her mother is the legendary Carla Thomas. Her daughter was really smart, quiet and extremely shy. She sat in the same row of desks as I, and she always kept her head down in her books. She was taller than most of the other girls in our classroom, and quite studious. Our teacher was Mrs. Jones, and she always smelled of cigarettes, but she was nice and extremely animated. Those were the days. 📚✌🏽

📌@3:23 Ahhh yes! What we know today as AutoZone, indeed was originally known as Auto Shack! Back when auto parts stores actually had employees that literally knew about vehicles; and would even give you advice! Most employers used to hire the local guys, such as mechanics, and the high schoolers that were taking auto mechanics classes. Today's auto parts employees are just desk clerks that punche keys on a computer; and rely on whatever's on the screen. We miss you, Auto Shack and Chief's Auto Parts! Such a BLAST from the Past! Thanks for the dose of NOSTALGIA!🏆😎

Yes sir. I miss Auto Shack (now Auto Zone) now it's O'Reilly and Pep Boys

@@christophernicholson20 Exactly! You're absolutely right! Yeah I miss those days too. I remember when Chief's Auto Parts was pretty popular in Memphis, but Auto Zone bought them out and turned Chief's locations into "The Zones" for their companies! I have a cousin who used to work for Auto Zone at the Getwell location, in the mid 90's, and moved up to the corporate office downtown. He's now a mechanic for the United States military.🇺🇲🍻
