Grew up with Steve and Allison! They always were the last 2 people I would see before going to bed. Continue to RIP Allison.

I live in Atlanta and saw him on WGN cable. I heard stories about folks like Ron Magers, the Tuna, Kurtis/Jacobson and others. Those guys are great and professional. But Steve makes it look easy and reassuring.

I’m so surprised Steve Sanders is retiring as I thought I remembered him saying that John Drury is retiring too young. But he shouldn’t be at a loss for what to do as he’s in a band & probably still owns his farm. I will really miss him on WGN.

WGN's Allison Payne did do a report on how WGN's Steve Sanders is a WGN Legend, and one of Chicago's Very Own following a number of logo changes in the past 35 years. He's quite a gentleman who reported and anchored WGN News. And we won't see him on the WGN Midday News, as WGN America does not air its Newscast anymore. Thank you WGN News for Steve Sanders, quite a WGN Legend for 35 years and still going strong.

Vintage Garage owner Melissa Sands sounds like Allison Payne. She should be doing a report on how WGN's Sean Lewis is a WGN Legend. Sean Lewis and Melissa Sands should be co-anchoring on WGN News.

@@derrickyee1143 No actually we are sorry Derrick Yee, but Melissa Sands will not if she is now in Chicago, and thanks for your reply, but we are sorry Derrick Yee, Allison Payne passed away on September 1, 2021 in Detroit at 57, and vintage garage owner Melissa Sands will never co-anchor WGN News as even if she did have a job in TV. May Allison Payne rest in peace.

Steve Sanders does strike a slight resemblance to Peter Cetera of the band of the same city name Chicago
