Bothe games were captured on PS5 in Balanced Graphics Mode.
I use the very same weather and day time condition in both. It is clear that WRC 10 has different sun position than WRC 9 that's why they look so different.

Weather is the same
To me, WRC 9 looks more detailed. The replay scenes in 10 look shockingwith the depth of field blurring (massive sharp edges on the blur).
Rain on the camera on the wales trail looks better in 9 aswell. Poor show from from KT Racing.
Difference is at the moves of the car. In WRC 10 cars movements are more real. Look at the 1:04
in moments you mentioned 9 could look more appealing, but 10 is looking more realistic, and when the track is harsh, windy, cold, ugly and dirty it does look like that in 10 too. Also, you can't argue with that every time since 7 the greatest differences are amount and uniqueness of trees. Though, why it does require to make standalone game every time I have no idea. Looking unfairly, maybe even like a tiny fraud. I see any developer's point in supporting every console with it's own WRC version of the game, thus showcasing different graphical details, but I don't see why so frequent. Maybe because I didn't play the rest after 7. Or could it be that 8, 9, 10 inserted some game modes in career that were not present in 7? Or is WRC video game series became an active sponsoring instrument for real world rally championship?
3:21min WRC 9 has RayTracing turned on (look to windshield).. WRC 10 has it turned off.. That's why quality on WRC 10 is better.. It lacks RayTracing (?)

I agree. I think the colour pallet is too washed out in 9, but the wet/forest sections in 9 look way better than 10, and the overall detail sharpness looks better in 9, in my opinion.
It's just like dirt 3 vs dirt 4 wherein dirt 3 environments looks better than dirt 4.

Wrc9 looks better to the eyes, but if you compare it to real life lighting and scenery wrc10 is better
It's funny, as Africa looks better in 10 but the rain/forest sections look better in 9. Overall, 9's graphics look a bit sharper too in my opinions.

Looks more like a patch than a new version of the game.
well not every location got new stages of course, there is a TON of new content in this game though, like 5-6 new locations. It's the biggest 'patch' in the series and was clearly more than a years work.
Like any yearly sports game.

Kenya in WRC 9 was way to dark from the lighting side its way better now !

Kind of ironic how the lower sun version WRC9 looks somewhat better. This is the same excuse that Digital Foundry used to explain why the Halo Infinite Campaign reveal from 14 months ago looked horrendous and last last gen looking......... because of the time of day with the sun setting lol.
Yet the same thing has given a spectacular effect here with very nice shadows and variance on the road in front of you............. funny that.

9 is the better looking game no question. 10 is full of screen tearing and judder on consoles and both still have no HDR. Unbelievable.

Seems like different time of day impacting the lighting. Maybe should choose settings closes so we can have a fair assessment. That said as in video even I think PS4 ver looks better.
Time of day is the same. Devs changed sun position.

Ło panie. Ci to nawet już się nie starają tej gry usprawniać wizualnie. Przesunęli jeden kamień, dodali ludzika, tutaj, tam odjęli. Na dodatek model oświetlenia w WRC 10 wydaje się gorszy. Brak mgły, słaba ekspozycja w ciemnych miejscach. Rzekłbym, że to krok do tyłu moim zdaniem, ale wstrzymam się jeszcze te kilka dni z osądem, zanim wyjdzie więcej materiałów ;).
I think in the first clip, the time of day makes 9 look better, but on a technical level 10 is better
The position of the sun is different in both games. Despite I always took the same weather and day time settings they both look different.
They should care more about the horrible FFB, for not speaking about the wrong steering angle and forced dead zone on steering, it’s horrible to drive with a DD wheel base.

WRC10 on PS5 has awful screen tearing and frame drop. I wish I had waited to buy. I enjoyed 9 I bought 10 straight away. I preferred 9 a lot more
Too bad, this WRC 10 is a visual and technical shame. This french dev studio promotes it being better in every aspect, that's pure lie :( I'm disappointed. Since WRC 7, it's visually worse and worse. Don't buy it more than 29€ second hand guys!

Look of wrc9 is better, rain effect on wrc9 is more realistic and good to watch.
WRC 10 lost the sticker translucency from the car interior, appart from that, they look mostly the same with slight updates

I dont even mind the bad graphics, that is up with the camera movement? camera angle should follow the car angle bi the camera stays straight and the car moves, and it feels so weird

Gameplay in wrc10 better. bad weather and storm its darker in 10 but thats why you have headlights.

Just got WRC 10 on ps5 and yeah, WRC 9 to my eye looks better. Number 10 is just too bright and makes it look weird.

I were right all the time, this new consoles dont have Nothing of next gen, They need to disable a lot of things like shadows, ambient ocolusion etc
For the game run 60 fps 4K because the next gen console can not HANDle it with high graphics and high frames, nothing new.
Next gen for me would be nice graphics, high res and high frames

As someone who has played the entire series, i can confirm - wrc10 has much better graphics than wrc9. Wrc9 might look good in this video but actual gameplay - wrc 10 is undoubtedly the winner. Btw, both have the option to run @120 fps too.

10 looks way nicer! Thicker and more foliage, better lighting and more snow on trees etc.. plus has a 120fps mode new to series s.

You're like the only person that thinks that for some reason. I think there's less detail in 10. It almost seems like they turned off the anti-analyzing. The lighting is also worse. But it does look thicker and has more foliage. You prefer it to be thicker than to have better detail?

Many people say WRC 9 looks better... And you are right, of course it does!! This WRC 10 is a visual shame: bland, no identity, crappy light, technically weak... Since WRC 7, which was pretty looking and a big step forward VS previous WRC (I own it and compared with 8 and 9 on Series X), it's getting worse and worse. Now this dev studio sell more games, they are lazy and even unable to propose a game that suits new gen consoles (except framerate now at 60fps). And they sell it above 50€...Don't buy this more than 29€ second hand!
