      I went with the WL Toys 144010. Stock and upgraded parts available on Amazon for a low price and I can get them very quickly if needed in a day or so, I don't see hardly any Rlaarlo parts on Amazon. I have never even heard of them until today. I think FTX makes decent cheaper RC vehicles but again getting parts quickly seems to be a problem. I wanted something tough, fast and cheap to keep running.

      I wouldn't say coming to an end but I think people are more willing to pay the extra money if they are buying a brushless model but not so much for a brushed.

    One of my first purchases when I came back into the hobby was a 144001, and once I'd sorted out the issues it had, thanks to your video, it's an amazing little car. I love it, my son loves it, but why, after all this time, are cars still being delivered to customers with the same issues, 2 years on!!
    And with the other issues the bigger cars have had, I'm not sure I would spend nearly double the cash on one now!!
    Rlarrlo seem to be starting off the right way, listening to their customers from the start, and that can only be a good thing.
    The only issue is the rising cost of everything within the hobby. Added to the cost of living issues, my money has to go much further!!
    😎👍🏻

    About 4 months ago I got into the rc world and have maybe gone a little cra cra with it. I started watching you tube videos on budget rcs and how to fix and upgrade them. I came across your videos and wanted to say thank you for all you do and most importantly being honest. I'm very glad I came across this video and got to hear all about wltoys and how they are. My 2nd car I got was the amx-12. It was at that moment I picked rallarlo as my fav brand and in the process of collecting them all. As far as the haters go, well the truth hurts sometimes and a company that picks greed over customers is gonna fail. Now it's time to delete all wltoys from my "gotta get" list. Thanks again!

    I received my rlaarlo pre-order on Monday. I’ve run 2 different battery packs thru it. And I have a problem with the car just shutting off when it hits any minor bump. It isn’t a battery problem since I used 2 different batteries. I think it’s an issue with the ESC being defective. However, rlaarlo haven’t responded to my request for help in 2 days. So I’m guessing they won’t make it right and I’m stuck with replacing the ESC of this brand new car. It seems fine when it works, but I’m really disappointed that I now need to spend $30 to fix a brand new buggy that hasn’t even flipped over yet.

    What's the difference between the branding of Rlaarlo & Amoril or WLtoys and GoolRCWLtoys?

  • @anthonylim2428
    @anthonylim2428 2 года назад +2

    I have a few WLtoys models and recently purchased 2 AMX12s. I realized that... I should have been more patient. I mean, it's not like I knew rlaarlo existed. Lol but still...
    The difference between the 2 companies IMO is that....
    -WLtoys: slaps on some of the most cheapest stuff to make their products and make them appear and function better than what you pay for them. Their electronics don't last long and it even looks very cheap. I ended up upgrading and replacing a lot of their components.
    -Rlaarlo: seems like they do their homework and their QC is no joke(for the price). They listen to their consumers/customers and they make changes accordingly. Starting from the small parts to their electronics, it shows quality and they work how they're supposed to... if not more. Absolutely love it. I mean, look at their transmitter alone lol
    I will be continuing to wait for Rlaarlo's future products and am excited about it. Well worth the extra money. Consumers don't always look for cheap stuff. If they think it's worth their money, they'll buy it. Rlaarlo clearly sees that.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 года назад

      Im glad you agree when it comes to quality. It is noticeable and when the lower end 144001 is costing up to $120 at the moment and the AMX-12 is $180 at the moment with all the carbon and goodies i think its worth it.

    Nice video my friend. My opinion is that wltoys saw the popularity of 144001 and didn't want to be copied. So it made 2 or 3 smaller companies to compete his own product. So no one can do this. Many big industries have done that in the past. Just a thought.

  • @hughharrell8528
    @hughharrell8528 2 года назад +2

    I got mine and it is a great build for $150. Mine was missing a shock mount spacer so they didn't QC it that well. So after noticing that, I inspected it some more. Looking at the front sway bar fitment, I noticed it touches the front driveshafts when the suspension is compressed. Other than that, it runs good and will run 3S soon.

    Our family owns 4 different WLToys based on that same or similar chassis. They were fast and the kids drove them hard, they would break at least one of them if not more than that everytime they were driven. Durability was lacking and I quickly realized they are for adults. We have switched to other more durable RCs in the same price range, but also just as fast if not faster. I really like how Rlaarlo has stirred the pot, they have great designers and marketing people, but I'm still not convinced on their price strategy, IMO those cars are $150 cars at the most. The market moves fast, for instance, Arrma 3s Typhon Christmas deals were $239 this year, now that didn't include a battery, carrying case, and spare parts....but even with the included extras a Rlaarlo at $225 is a tough sell. Also, once people see the Rlaarlo was sold for $150 on special, it's really hard to pay more than that.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 года назад +1

      I agree and I do think even at $180 its still a fairly decent deal considering the carbon fiber components and much better quality all round. But that said there are some very good branded options from Arrma (voltage, 4x2 range), HPI Jumpshot range, Maverick etc all within the same price range!

    One of the things WLToys did NOT do when going to the stretched (1/12 scale) versions of their 1/14 scale cars was make the width the same scale. That resulted in cars that are a PITA as far as internal components and batteries go. The flip top of the 124018 and 124016 along with having to take out too many screws AND the rear shocks makes it a dud to own and work on.

    I wouldn't go WLToys, and whilst I like this Rlaarlo, just feel the carbon fibre chassis seems like a poorly thought out choice that's more vanity than practicality. Carbon fibre is needlessly expensive, especially when particular plastic type chassis are plenty strong enough anyway (see MJX Hyper Go Brushless, which has a near bullet proof chassis), and when the weight difference is negligible too. They should do a non carbon version that comes in at a much more sensible price.

    If they maintain current progress then the Rlaarlo brand is to be taken seriously. We may well see them producing larger RCs in the not too distant future that challenge the supremacy of Horizon Hobby and Traxxas.

      They could very well become a market leader if the quality stays the same! 😎👍

      Honestly if they come out with a 1/10 scale in 2023 at a decent price, I would get it. Be nice to move away from these small scale cars.

      @@beyondRC Deservedly so in that instance. The irony of a Chinese brand using high quality components sold at a fair price versus Western companies using relatively low quality components in products sold at high prices. Rlaarlo using carbon fibre in reasonably priced RCs vs Traxxas still using super-cheap monkey metal gears in their $1000+ RCs that are made in China anyway!

    WL toys does cost less. MUCH MUCH less. so yeah. Id rather spend 130 dollars less for more or less the same car.
