Gran Turismo 7 - Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar REVIEW

- The Toyota GR010 Hybrid was easily my most anticipated car of GT7 1.15, and now that I have driven it, it was certainly worth the purchase price. Different but familiar to any Prototype racing fan, this first ever Hypercar in the GT series is a most welcome addition, and brings strong all round ability to the Gr1 category...

Honestly really wished that Toyota went through with making the Road Model for this car. Hopefully such an idea gets revived.
After Toyota Tacoma scene (driving by James Marsden) in Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Didn't the road going prototype car allegedly went up in flames during testing in Fuji and then Covid happened which makes things even worse for Akio Toyoda to get approval from his board of directors?
There seem to be some misconceptions after the pace of the Toyota GR010.
Last year the GR010 set a 3.26 at Le Mans. To put that in perspective it is some 10 seconds per lap quicker than the best Group C cars. And over 15 seconds quicker than the Mazda 787B.
When compared to the ultimate GT1 cars. It is 10 seconds per lap quicker than the Toyota GT-ONE & Mercedes CLK-LM. And 20 seconds quicker than the McLaren F1 GTR LT.
Great to see this one being good in game. Hopefully that peugeot one gets added as well. Would be cool to see those two head to head.
It’s a really good car for the PP800 races in career mode. Power it down and with ballast. However the hybrid gives it good acceleration and fuel lasts the whole race.
GR2 cars might be slightly faster but it’s a joy to drive the Toyota
Just FYI this car doesn’t have near the downforce of some of the other modern LMP1 cars. Really hurts it in the medium and high speed corners. But its great top speed makes up for it. Just keep that in mind when choosing a track. It’s basically perfect for Le Mans but will lose a bit of time in the Porsche curves.
yeah, you could take the Porsche curves all the way to maison blanche flat in lmp1 not so much in this.
Still saw it win at Spa earlier this year!
@@wiegraf9009 haha ya I think it’s probably well suited for that track. I was also just commenting on the car in the game, not in real life. To be clear, I like the car in game it’s a lot it’s fun to drive. Just lower downforce than the LMP1 cars. Takes a bit more skill to get a really good lap.
This car is not very quick, but when you install a mid-RPM turbocharger, it accelerates like crazy. Up to 229 mph (368.5 km/h).
Even with added weight and power reduction, I raced all the 800pp WTC and won 1st in every event. So fun to drive!
It is quite the beast in WTC 800 events
Sure but tbh its also pretty simple with a random GT3 car
Honestly I just hope they fix the LMP1-H top speed and hybrid system... We need to use it manually like we do for the SF19
Also, GR010's hybrid is definitely too op
I assume the real one is manual like the LMP1 cars were?
For some endurance races I might want to keep it on auto. I think manual should an option for all hybrid cars.
There’s a big difference between having hybrid and no hybrid. Especially in acceleration.
I think the real Lmp1's are automatic though. I might be wrong though. I would definitely prefer it if it was manual, but it needs to be as accurate to the real thing as possible at the end of the day
@@mikhailfernandez24- ya I’m honestly not sure. I think at least for endurance racing it’s probably automatic.
The 919 Evo prototype it seemed like it was manually activated.
Nice review, I enjoyed driving it last night (it’s still stock as of now), I wanted the Audi before this came out, I’ll get it eventually but I’m happy with this purchase.
Road going would have been epic. But that entire class kind of let me down considering LMDH is so appealing without the road going requirement. Nice video as always gotta buy it soon
I love this car so much
This car looks sick
I got this car down slighlty under 800pp and with 90% power and still somehow drives like a dream!
Bought it love it looking forward to using it more 😀 😊 agree cost was a bit much but turned out to be close to worth it.
This is an awesome video but I’m just curious, is there any reason for you driving in automatic? I know that in manual mode you squeeze out the most absolute performance the car can deliver
Bought the 919. Tough it tops out quite easily with downforce. Only using 7th gear for fuel economy. Might give this one a try..
The only thing I’m still waiting for is that special pitch turbo sound the Audi r18 produces I hate it that they totally have left the sound out it kills the immersion immediately for me in the Audi r18 and it’s my fav race car in real life 😭😭
We need the glickenhaus
I was iffy on buying this since I have the r18 tdi and 962c. They do really well
I don't like it but as HSG was saying my main 2 categories of choice are LMP hybrids and formula cars, and this feels more like a group C from GT sport with the more heavy mid corner feel compared to the sharp turning in something like the 919 but thats just me
I would have bought it straight away if it wasn't for the 911 GT1 road version standing there in the Hagerty garage for the same amount of money... wanted to take the opportunity of that first. Now the Sauber C9 is available...
Yeah that's the good thing about it, being in the regular dealership and not going away you can just grab it whenever
Buy the Sauber c9 it’s the best of them 3
@@angerfistkill although I still didn't buy the GR010, as I have my eyes on the CLK-LM upcoming, the Sauber C9 really is flawless. Your recommendation is totally deserved, love that car.
Is good for corner and acelérate very fast , but in stray line is slow
The GT One isn't a fail anymore!
good review
Great vid, i also highly agree that i would also love to see more hyper class car from le man to come like the new peugeot 9x8, and the others that are to come. Please PD pleaseee
Glickenhaus
@@torque-drive2488 definitelyyy
Out of curiosity, how does this compare to the Porsche 919 Hybrid ☺️
Would it be better then the audi r18 tdi because i dont wanna grind again
Worth It 👍
i have a super dumb question that im having a hard time to figure out :
is there some sort of battery management process ? for the fuel we have the fuel map prompt, but I always run out of battery in hybrids. I play on the controller, I assume that with a wheel and pedals battery management is easier and more "natural". does this car have a "larger" battery life than say the toyota ts050
Same. I dont know the trick either. Sticking to the Pugeot 908 and Audi for now
What car do u recommend for the gr 1 prototype series specifically Daytona
RedBull X2019 Competition, hard tyres, fuel map 6 makes quick work there.
Super Formula 👌🙃
How does it stack up to the mental Audi gr1?
Wish we had Glickenhaus and all the other LMP1 class cars for an authentic Lemans experience.
I think it performs better than real life
My only problem is now it started showing a lot of understeer
Love the car. Have it tuned to exactly 800pp and use It in the Sardegna world touring race and get it done 5 minutes faster than the Le Mans race.
I've done the same but for those extra 5 minutes on le mans you earn 100k more but it's good to have another money mule because it gets boring doing the same race over and over again even if you do use different cars I especially liked taking the Rampage around le mans it was fun
@@AlertJester66 I’ll have to try the rampage, thanks. I do Sardegna mainly to break up the monotony. I usually get Le Mans done in exactly 30mins because I have a big enough of a lead that I can sit at the finish line and wait for time to expire so I don’t have to do another lap.
Cant help but feel the prices of these cars was to use up money people got with the tomohawk
Imma simple person. I see the word hybrid, and hypercar. I'm lookimg for 918.(and original P1.)
Understeer and braking performance really hurt this car. If it's not got long straights, use something else.
Honestly if it wasn’t 3mil credits I wouldn’t have grinded or enjoyed winning with it as much as I probably did.
Great video baba
Thanks lil baba ;P
This is slightly off topic but something I’d personally like to see in GT7 would be a customize grid tool. Like in Assetto Corsa where you can customize your own grid of opponents for single races in arcade mode or something like that. For instance if your a Le Mans fan like I am you could create your own LMP1, Group C, GT1s or GTLM line ups, which personally I think would be a great addition for the game. That would be really cool!
You can pretty much do that in custom races, I might have to give that idea a shot
@@MrKoala-kv5qd Thank you, I've just seen the options and settings. Personally I think it's great they've added this to GT7 where you can create your own customized races. It looks really exciting! However it sounds like you can only do this by using cars from your own garage only. Personally I think it should allow users to add cars from across the entire car list in the game. Thus make it more like AC's Custom Championship mode. It'll be good if they could correct this at some point in the near future.
great car...but they should fix ts050...
Yep, garbage top speed and hybrid
Same for the r18 e-tron and 919 hybrid
The three lmp1h are broken🤣
I beat the record of Porsche 919 hybrid Evo in nordschleife with this one
The problem with these Group 1 cars is they are so quick that with a controller I can't drive them 😥.
The missions require fuel and weather control.
How can I have my thumb on the right analog stick and on the same time on the directional buttons for change fuel consumption and weather monitoring?
There’s a small bar on the bottom left side of the screen which indicates track wetness. I use this to see when I should be ready to put for intermediates or rain tires.
As for the events themselves? The LM55 GR1 is excellent for these events. It’s easily the best in class as far as group one cars go, but you can also try the super formulas too if you want to cheat the events even harder.
I use controller. L2 R2 gears, R1 up fuel map break biases etc, L1 kers DRS, down button fuel map down. Left Right button switch weather fuel mix etc. Works well...
Although I don’t like, nah despise all 3 of the cars. I love the channel and love the content. Like deployed. 👍🏼
Haha cheers bud
Buying the 919 might not be the best use of my cash 😤
The 919 is great too, not a bad call
@@HSGAutomotive I have found it pretty good it's just not having control over boost is a bit of a downer.
Sooooo fast.... But turns like a BOAT! 🤦♂️
So if the point of hyper car was to reduce cost why is it as much is the 919 in game? It makes absolutely no sense. Hagerty just needs to leave the game alone
Reduce build costs in real life, not in GT
Winner of the seasons' wec prototype would be cost 3m to buy
I wish they would have made the Toyota FT-1 the real new Supra. Instead of a bmw😓
Same here, a GT-R level machine
Well....
The only company that make great l6 is bmw....
Maybe they would use it's own engine for the next gen
And tbh, the engine and the chassis are same as z4 doesn't mean it just a z4.
Ecu tuning, suspension tuning, and even the lsd tuning make the supra different from z4
Don't just be just be a 2jz fanboy, you have to look about how the s58 is better than the 2jz
unplayable with controller those gr1 cars
I'm using a controller
Ts50 is better
This car is junk!
