Yeah these saws are great for smaller hard to reach limbs or in this video's case reducing the removal down to big cuts and then actually using a chain saw. When used properly, these pole saws can make their money every day for years
I know this video is old, but before you talk down on durability, you should show us the footage of you breaking it. Pretty suspect that all of a sudden the video switches from an idling pole saw to a shot of you talking about how it's broken.
Hats off to you for an honest posting. I dropped a limb on my Echo and bent it back...sorry you had that tough-luck but at least you are an honest guy!
Man i have 2 echo pole saw that are like 8 years old and thats never happend to us and they have both fallen of trees and nothing has broken i guess you had bad luck i know they are not ment to put pressure on them cause when they are fully extended they can bend.
You should have used a small saw like a Stihl 193 t , My neighbor did the same thing like you and cut the whole tree down with a polesaw and bent his shaft also. Must use it for limping small out of reach branches next time.
Mine broke that same exact way but it tuk 5 years of heavy use somewhat . I just bought a new one after trying stihl.. the 266... is a good tool for me makes treework safer and thatsworth600atleast.. ps ur supposed to cut heavy woodwithchainsaw.. and that wudnot have happened so soon atleast
This is why I never borrow expensive equipment. You’re either going to purchase him a new one or he might get something back that doesn’t quite work the way it was before he lent it to you. I just end up buying my own stuff as it will always be used somewhere.
Theakston Landscape I got the stihl ht131 and pretty happy with it so far. Also have a fs90 trimmer bg55 blower and ms390 saw all about 10-12 years old that I can't kill.
I have had a few commercial stihl pole saws break same way by employees. Pole saws are not meant to have the pressures you put on it.
Yeah, accidents happen it's just the nature of the business!

I wish you would’ve showed how it broke.
