That was awesome. Thanks for sharing. I’ve got a 4 month old baby doing 5 feeds a day, while I’m doing 6 pumps a day. This video gave me some encouragement to get down to 4 pumps 🤞 by the time he is 6 months. Maybe less... who knows. We sterilize each time - which is nuts but I just feel weird if it isn’t clean. We just invested in 10 glass bottles, an extra pump attachment, and a large UV sterilizer to help. So we can have one set of full bottles ready from yesterday and one set empty ready to fill. And only wash & sterilize maybe 4 times a day instead of like 6-8 times a day. 😫 I also have two pumps - the quiet spectra and the louder medela swing maxi (older model from my aunt). It’s nifty having a choice. Thank you again!
I think it depends on your storage capacity. I can only store 10-12 ounces of milk in my boobs at a time. If I go 12 hours without pumping, I pump about 10 ounces. I would have to pump, at least, 3 times a day to maintain 30 ounces a day because my boobs couldn’t fit more milk than that at a time. It definitely depends on the person. You just have a really large storage capacity. If you look it up, there’s actually a lot of information on it. Women who can store more milk, don’t have to pump as much. Women who can only store a few ounces at a time, have to pump more often.
I'm 7 weeks pumping topping up with formula as my baby is a savage . But he is having about 80 per cent breast milk. Wouldnt stick at the breast for long enough and I wanted to breastfeed and keep the milk going for 6 months. Getting about 2 oz all together doesnt seem much but enough for now. I try him on the breast every now and again for the bonding and he does feed but stops once letdown reduces and gets frustrated. I can't my supply up anymore though still trying and trying. Some times its less for some reason. Its so difficult isnt it.
Lol @ "i could not possibly speak for everyones nipples" I didnt BF or pump with my first....i just couldnt mentally take that on. I never even knew exclusive pumping was a thing. I'm expecting baby #2 and doing all the research.
