I really enjoyed watching the grafting of these trees and the fine details that I might not have seen anywhere before. Thank you very much for sharing this valuable information and experience. thanks a lot.
I could listen to Mr. Suchan with his over half a century of knowledge all day long. He reminds me of Elmer Fudd too by the way, the cartoon character and I love him too. Just look at those hands of his, very wide and thick those are working hands of labor! He has to be in his mid 80's or more. He has to be an icon to this farm.
ENG/ I'm really glad that i see a comment from our loved and respected tv presenter, especially when i see, that aside everything you follow and inform us about, you follow events about walnuts. I'd like to pay attention on one detail in this video for Uros and the wider community of people that are interested in walnuts. California, lateral varieties,Mr. Suchan spend his whole life in a orchard and during the whole video it is clearly visible, and especially in the interval after 27:53 to 30:30 that the space between the plantations are not less than 14 meters (or i do not believe my eyes). Because nowadays you commonly hear different tips, that you need to plant at,for example, 6x8, i recommend to people that are interested in planting walnuts to analyze this detail very carefully from every corner of walnut plantation. To you Uros, i suggest that you recommend this video to everyone that is interested in planting walnuts.
well done !!! love the common man approach, for the most part . tools that most of us have . thanks for a down to earth video, I don't have deep soil like that have you grafted walnuts on heart nut root stock? they grow well in my soil .any pointers will be appreciated thanks again for the great video
I planted a walnut tree about a week ago, and now I see that I did not do it with as much care as I should have. Should I pull it out and replant? Anybody out there with advice?

At 4:15 or so he said to keep the weed away, to remove weed, near young whip grafted tree. Remove the weeds when they are 1" or less, not waiting for the weed to get up to waist height then remove. Then he said to keep adequate moisture, to water. He said the other grafters not watering after grafting because they believed watering would make the tree weep sap and ruining the graft.
DO YOU EVER HAVE TROUBLE WITH FOXES,AS I PUT IN A WALNUT TREE NOT KNOWING FOXES LOVE TO EAT THE BARK,NEXT DAY I CAME OUT ,TO FIND ALL THE BARK MISSING FROM MY WALNUT TREE,
