Solo: A Star Wars Story is in theaters, proving that Disney is committed to popping out Star Wars movie after Star Wars movie. The movie follows Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, Qi’Ra and more characters as they go on a bunch of heists and fly around in the Millenium Falcon. But how exactly did this movie come to be? Why did they have to give an origin to everything Han Solo has ever done? Step inside the pitch meeting that started it all. It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience.

The thing is, they usually only learn the languages that they actually use. Most people can’t afford a language course, or textbook, so they have to learn the hard way. So while it is believable that Han is a polyglot, it’s ridiculous that he knew wookiee.

The saddest part of this is that there is an original trilogy of books that detail Han's early life, that are so much better. It shows how he knows the Wookie language, how he gets in with Lando, how he knows about the Rebellion, the Kessel Run, and it even has Boba Fett and Jabba. It's an amazingly well told story that, if adapted into a script and given a few tweaks for style points, would have been a really engaging story. Sad that they didn't use this material; They let a goldmine go to waste.

Yes, of course the books are better, almost always the case. But see, studio execs don't like books, they like big blockbuster movies which ruin the history and mystery of a franchise in the name of hopefully making big bucks for their big, fat wallets and heads. They are as out of touch as can be.
Luckily, by the flop that this movie was, people are catching on and not wasting their time with this over-done crap anymore.

These conversations seem so natural because Ryan's editing the visual to switch slightly before the audio ends or starts causing it to bleed into the next scene for a very split second. *@Harsh haze*
I find the psychology of Ryan's editing technique to be even more impressive. I believe what's happening is that your frontal lobe knows damn well that he's playing both characters but there's a part of your brain (location: ?) that doesn't and only believes things upon sensory data. This is the area of your mind that Ryan's toying with. If for even a split second the sound of a voice is being heard while your eyes are looking at another person on-screen who's not saying it, your brain with conclude that there are 2 people conversing. It's subtle but brilliant, mix that with Ryan's sense of humor and wit... and presto! You have *Screen Rant's* best series. =)

These new movies write satirical stuff on themselves, but your pitches still manage to kick it up a notch, love it

From now on i will just say "that's a great question." whenever i do not know the answer to something.
I wonder when i will be able to first use it?

THE PITCH COULDA JUST BEEN THIS:
"HOW ABOUT A STANDALONE MOVIE STARRING THE BELOVED HAN SOLO...... MINUS HAN SOLO (Harrison)?"
      KKennedy: "BRILLIANT!!!"
How did they NOT think of a standalone DARTH VADER movie (anyone can be in the costume!) or R2 / 3P0? (Ditto.)
      YEEEESH.
Also note how all the studios are REBOOTING STUFF NO ONE WANTED TO BE REBOOTED.... but they refuse to reboot the films we ALL want to see rebooted / remade?!!
(The Lucas PREQUELS! Give us a REAL Anakin!)

"but how does he do that?"
"Because I wrote it in the script."
"But when did he learn to do that?"
"When I wrote it in the script."
    "Fair enough."
