@@TheWeedyGarden Thank you for pointing us to the right seed! We have 3 thriving Mango Mamas now. It turns out, mangoes are able to handle our inhospitable conditions. Since shade is our most valuable crop, using your method, instead of buying trees, we will start producing seedlings to plant and expand our shaded area. This perspective is very exciting.

if you have access to arborist chips, i highly recommend it. i get mine from tree service people who have to pay to dump their wood chips so they are very happy to give it away. i have huge mountains of it composting for 3 years after which they are used in the orchard. i had very poor coarse sandy soil with little life in it. took me the first 10 years to change that and now i have the best soil. it took a long time but now i do not have to deal with soil or weeds or watering. it was worth it. also, chickens love wood chips as they provide a great source of bugs for them to hunt and they move the chips for you and poop everywhere, speeding the decomposition. i grow a lot of beans. i have been storing huge barrels of the stuff. i eat over 90% of what i eat for over 10yrs and live on less than $10k/yr. i got lucky and was able to get the property in the 80's for $42k! always planned to die here and it took years to get everything going on the cheap. i love the peace and tranquility of nature. your videos capture how i feel here even though we are on the opposite sides of the planet. live well 🙂🙏

I love all the story times The Weedy Garden caretaker brings us. As an adult it brings back memories of favorite picture books as a child, thumbing through in a corner of a family owned bookstore and my Mom bringing some home with us. Then looking through them in a fort all cozy while Mom in the kitchen made something comforting and delicious.

I'm loving your videos, thank you. Mushroom growing.. Yes!! I've tried, with little result, because I simply didn't have the right space for the beautiful Fungi to grow.. I am very excited by the Mushroom Home you have built.. I reckon that would give them a good chance, even here :)
Covid has certainly changed the way people view gardening, thank goodness. It certainly shifted my focus from my rainforest planting (my baby rainforest is virtually self-evolving now anyway) to growing Medic Garden herbs, to have 'medicine' on hand, and I'm reaping the benefits of that impetus. I've become my own little home apothecary, which fills me with joy. We'd started making space for new raised garden wicking beds just before the drought of 2019 which to the huge fires late that year and too far into 2020.. I was very grateful that we'd chosen wicking beds, as this area can be on drought and fire warning one day and flood watch a week later. Of the 13 beds we built we only set two up ready to use, as water was getting way too scarce.. Usually we'd just have to let gardening sit, but we turned the wicking beds on (filled the water reservoir 🤣) , and presto we had food growing in the most blisteringly hot, dry drought condition days in beds that only asked for water after 8 days, rather than every day or two. Life changing! We can go away and the garden will keep it's own soil moist just as long as it's well filled before we leave, and there's almost no evaporation.. Thank you for your videos.. I keep seeing things that I wishes I'd learnt 20 years ago.. 🙏
