    I don't want to be a party pooper but baking soda and vinegar combination is only useful when you are using them for cleaning at the moment you get the bubbly reaction. The carbonic acid that is created as a result of this reaction immediatelly starts to decompose into carbon dioxide and water. What you have there is jelly with a few drops of essential oils. Might smell nice but has absolutely no cleaning properties. :(

    • @klaralawmaresova8293
      @klaralawmaresova8293 4 года назад +7

      If you switch vinegar for citric acid you get a similar reaction a produce Sodium Citrate, a much more stable salt that doesn't decompose and is a good cleaning agent.

      Wow thank you for your comment. I didn't know that. Maybe some day I'll make another video with citric acid. Thank you Klara ❤

    Thanks for this tip. My daughter and I had fun making a batch of these yesterday but it was only afterwards that I noticed you needed to have subtitles enabled for full instructions, which is a good way to do it. We forgot to put the salt, instead putting 2 tbsp of baking soda, so hopefully the cleaner gels will still work. So far, it's not clear if they are, so maybe the salt is important!Please update the video description to tell people to enable subtitles.

    Thanks for this! I really like the idea of under-rim automatic toilet bowl cleaners/refreshers, but never liked all the chemicals, bleach and/or weird colors that are found in most of them. So I'm going to buy one generic under-rim cleaner, toss whatever is inside of it, and make my own, using your recipe here.
    Not sure I understood, though, why you made two additional cleaner bars, that were in the round cups...how you would use those round ones (and since they'd not fit into the under-rim holder)?

    Hey thanks for the video, seems quite simple and I was trying it with all the exact ingredients, all gone well. I put in the fridge for a night, then the next day I took out and use it. Those not yet use, I put them aside and noticed after a few hours that they became liquid again!!!! :( did it happen to you sometime with this? shall we put more gelatin to make them stick and not melted? Thanks anyway!

    I tried these and they came out just like in the video. But as many others have said, they don't release any bubbles once in the bowl holder which is a shame and kind of the effect I am looking for. I might try again and use way more soap than in the video. But I think the gelatine somehow stops the bubbles from forming.

      Jabukova strudla - po nazivu kanala pretpostavljam da ćemo se bolje razumjeti ovako nego na engleskom ;) White vinegar je obični alkoholni ocat kojeg ima u svakom dućanu, isto kao što ima i jabčnog i vinskog octa :) Mislim da bi bilo jednako dobro da se umjesto alkoholnog stavi i bilo koji drugi ocat. • @HomeFactory
      @HomeFactory  5 лет назад

      Dear jablkova strudla, I'm from Croatia :) I like your name a lot ;) This white vinegar I used is just ordinary vinegar. It is not some fancy stuff. You can buy it in any store and, just like apple vinegar or vine vinegar or acceto balsamico. It is very cheap. I use it for cleaning too, and for removing limescale in my bathroom. So this white vinegar is just regular vinegar.

    So I tried it and it does not work at all... I was hoping for it to work so much. But it is shitty. After 2 days out of the fridge the gelatin becomes liquid. So I constantly have to keep it in the fridge and everything in the fridge smells like lemon (I used lemon aroma for baking). It is a bit colder in the toilet, so when it is in the toilet bowl it does not really matter, but it does not work. No bubbles, no nice lemon aroma, nothing.. The toilet smells really bad. The only thing I wanted was a nice smell and bubbles. None of that happened. So this experiment was an epic fail :D

      No. I used vinegar instead. But you can use citric acid if you want.

      *WARNING Mixing bleach and vinegar releases toxic chlorine and chloramine vapors*
      When I get the time I'll experiment by replacing the vinegar with bleach. I like the smell of bleach, it smells clean.
      And perhaps put Blue coloring.

      Bleach is not good for the rubber parts in the toilets and it will deteriorate the parts and cause leaks

    It's a nice idea but I doubt that it cleans anything, its only a perfume for the toilet.

    If you are making videos then at least tell us what you are adding and how much you are adding. Nonsense! how should we know the contents and quantity?

      Before you make comments like this it would be nice to read the description of the video. This video is made with subtitles and they are translated into 6 languages, so comments like this offend me.

    • @fireshots1879
      @fireshots1879 4 года назад

      @@HomeFactory if we had to see the description below the video, then why we need to watch your video? I have watched your full video and seriously I couldn't see any subtitles in any language. Moreover there's nothing to be OFFENDED off. When you are presenting a video to the viewers, You can't expect everybody to appreciate you all the time though they don't understand anything. Have the courage to accept the negative remarks too. If you can't do that, then it's better you disable the comment section.

      Thank you for your words and time :) I relay like getting comments on my videos, and I like bad ones more - because I learn more about people from bad ones ;) I'm on YT for more than 4 years with over 100 videos so I know what bad comments are :) Reading your comment I somehow got the idea that you don't know how to turn on the subtitles. And that is ok. If you don't want to watch my videos that is ok too. You do with your time what ever you want. I just have need to thank you for the time you spent on my video and writing me comments :)
