Went to the IOM TT 1968 and 1969 on a day trip for the senior day , it was organised by MCN cost 18 shillings 90 new pence in 1968and 27 shillings in 1969, we boarded train at New street Birmingham on Thursday night we were given a packed lunch on platform and travelled to Liverpool and boarded IOM ferry , arrived Friday morning , had a few hours wandering round Douglas prom admiring hundreds of bikes. Watched the 125 race, had a bite to eat then watched Senior race and rubbed shoulders with Agostini in pits then boarded ferry for a long journey home. Very tiring trip but memorable and enjoyable, arrived home Saturday morning with bed bug bites from ferry bunks. Glory days.
Hi easybeat, i think #44 is my father Christopher Gregory on a 125 Bamtam... I'll ask him to be totally sure... great montage, really of the day; nice to see colour photography from 68
Unfortunately, these are the only photos of my dad's from the IoM that I have. He used to cover the TTs for Ilford Films - but more as a salesman than a photographer.
Some bike enthusiast friends of mine actually know the woman wearing jeans seen being interviewed and have identified some of the riders. The camera would probably have been a Nikon F SLR. The film would most likely have been bought-in by Ilford as they were black & white specialists. They're still in business but this must be a struggle with the rise of digital photography.
Thanks. It's just a pity that these are the only pictures from the TTs that I've ever found. Dad probably took more but I don't know what happened to them.
Sadly not. My father (a salesman, not a photographer!) used to do some work at the TTs for Ilford Films in the late 1960s but these are the only photos I've ever seen from those assignments.
@@easybeat - No worries on the delay. Thank you for getting back to me. Can we take this to email and I can send a screenshot? sabredave@yahoo.com Thanks so much!

That was so appreciated and the music went really well 👍
Thanks!
I spectated at Alpine for the 125 and Senior in 68. Read and Ivy were mighty impressive, as was Kel Carruthers on the Gates Honda.
Wow, I was there that year on my Triton.
wonderful collection thanks for showing them

Hey easybeat, would it be possible to get a couple of digital files from the scans? Turns out a good friend's dad is in this video.
My DAD RON GLOVER PASSENGER JOHN PENNINGTON 750CC NORTON FINISHED 13TH
Unfortunately this is all I've ever found from what my dad took in the IoM. There was probably more but I don't know what happened to it. Pity.
