I missed this one. Nice box. Some day I want to try one by steaming ribs over the outside of the boat a few stations ahead of its location and planking it and ribbing it like standard canoe construction, finished it would snuggle into the canoe just so. I may try this as a stem box where the box is stored in the bow or stern or both.

Appreciate it! Many do choose to fabricate the Wannigan as you describe. It is very practical and form fitting to the hull. I may give that a shot someday as well. Hope you are well and Happy Holidays!

Well done, many nice features. Now, how to fill it without being a big mess a few days into the trip. Looking forward to your ideas for storage.

Will modify as necessary. I will have a better idea after I discover what needs to change after using it a couple times.

Do you know how much it ended up weighing?

Yes, the final weight was 9.3lbs. I will be making a lighter weight Wannigan down the road. All material can be substituted to make it exactly the way you prefer.
