Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 I have white gloss cupboards in my kitchen & I wipe them every day or every 2nd day. I agree with Anthony on this one !! Hope Anthony’s back gets better soon.
I’m so sorry Roxanne but I have to agree with Anthony. I would go back to all white and use enamel so they are washable. I think if you painted the entire island cabinets fully the green that would give you the pop of color you’re looking for as well as tying the two rooms together. But you do you, it’s your kitchen and at the end of the day you have to live there not us.
I love the green, but not just the border.I think I would like the whole cabinet painted. It's popular to have uppers and lowers different colors. Leave the bottoms white. You should have originally put a clear coat of a polyurethane or protectant on the cabinets. I worry that the green will continue to flake. You need to be happy in your kitchen!! Your choices will be the best.
When you first talked about painting the cabinets I thought the grey color in your wallpaper would be nice. I am still hoping you will change your mind. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Keep rockin. Hope your back gets better soon Anthony.
Back in the 60s when I started working as a painter, we used a lot of oil based paint, and I learned that water base won't adhere to the oil. Then primer that has been exposed to normal kitchen use, there's a lot of oil in the air. To paint it, you need to prep it roughly. Steel wool is the quickest for me.
So sorry it bubbled up. Been there done that. It’s just paint you can change it anytime. I like it, I would do the drawers. I think your valentines clashes with it looks like Christmas maybe that was his problem. Hope his back gets better. It’s no fun being down.
I'm hoping that's what he didn't like because we all know how much she liked the cabinets. Seeing so many people criticize it kinda gets under my skin because there was nothing definitively said that he didn't like the paint. He could have been looking at anything, like valentines decor. All these negative comments probably don't make her feel too good. If they don't like it, don't like it quietly.
I saw someone give advice that before you remove your painters tape- score the inside edge of the tape and it will lift easier. I haven't painted anything since i heard that, but it makes sense you can then really press in that edge to prevent bleed and not have to worry about tearing up the paint underneath when you remove the tape.
I admire both of you that you can have an honest relationship. It's so healthy. If a couple doesn't, it's not really a good thing. Roxanne, you worked so hard on this that I am sure it is painful, but you are so fortunate you have a husband who doesn't lie just to keep the peace. I still enjoyed your videos, even if my personal taste is for the all white cabinets and maybe the island having the matching color. It's not an insult, simply me sharing my honest opinion as well. Love y'all!
I personally would paint the entire cabinets green. You could leave the island white for contrast, but i would paint that green also. I knew someone who painted all of her cabinets green ( different shade of green) but it looked spectacular!!! And that was when the look first came out! I realize it's your choice, but that is what i would do. Good luck!
Oh dear…. I had my doubts when I saw you masking off the cabinet doors…. It looks ok…. My own kitchen has not been repainted in over 30 years! Thank goodness for Behr Paint! I can’t decide what color I would choose to redo it!
Nice idea, but it I think I liked them all white better. But it is your kitchen. If you really want a change maybe painting the whole cabinet green instead of just the edging. Might want to wait till it warms up, since painting with temperature below 50° is not recommended. I’m sure you will bring it all together.❤️
Hi Rox I love the green. As far as the drawers I think I'd wait to see how the cabinet doors look before I'd do the drawers. You don't want it to look too gaudy so I'd wait. It's an easy fix. You could just paint them white possibly. You have to like it and that's what's really matters.
Good afternoon coffee… it’s just Paint… as long as I’ve been here.. mine have been many colors… and lol I’ve never painted them myself… dang kids… have a great day…
I love the shade of green u chose but painting Al cabinets top a bottom will make color pop. And give it a more cozy vibe and bring kitchen an ur living room together. Good job Rox keep up the great work u both do !👍🏼😊
I’m so sorry you worked so hard on that to end up disappointed. It’s a good thing it’s just paint. I’ve painted something and it not turn out like I had envisioned it. It’s great that you allowed Anthony to be honest. Communication is so important. ❤ I think if you painted all your cabinets green it would look great. I love that color especially with the butcher block counters.
Yeah, I like the idea, Rox, and you did a great job. But I'm team Anthony. I think that style is too much pattern. My input would be to go with a toned down, more neutral green, and paint the whole bit one solid color. But just live with it until the weather is more favorable!❤
I liked it . I think it looks very nice and the docker green brings the nature outside your home into your kitchen. Live with it Anthony as I think once summer comes and the green leaves come back outside you will like it a whole lot better. Give it a chance.
O Dear Roxanne, I felt bad for you when Antony said I don’t like it babe.In sure you could have cried.I really do like it Roxanne.Maybe it will grow on him.👍🥰
Some things you just can’t rush. You know that now, seeing the results of the frozen paint, and cold temps. Water under the bridge now! Just remember: you don’t have to use the exact color you have in the living room, to have it all flow. As long as it’s a shade of green, you’ll be fine. I think a lighter shade of green would be lovely, and still flow well. Keep going, you don’t know until you try, and that’s the way we learn. I applaud your enthusiasm, and your efforts! ❤️
Sorry Roxanne, but I agree with Anthony. The colour looks like baby poop... lol And they aren't done that well...back to the drawing board lovey, use a sponge roller next time or even use spray paint in a semi gloss for wipe-ability and do the painting inside somewhere warmer.
If you use flat paint to paint cabinets, dirt and grime'll stick to it. Regardless if you paint it a darker color it wont matter the color That's why I always paint my cabinet's semi gloss paint. Nothing sticks to it and it's easy to wipe and without removing the paint..
It is you kitchen and if you like it good. However, just as a suggestion maybe a bit lighter solid green with the handles spray painted black. I enjoy your channel and it is only meant to be a suggestion. Most of all you need to like it and if you all like it then that is all that all that is important.
paint the bottom cabinets all the green and leave the uppers all white. will flow much better plus the lower ones attract the most dirt, maybe put a satin clear on the upper white ones to help make it easier for cleaning the paw prints off
I like it Rox, but maybe adding some ivy or flower decals to each door might make them better. Nothing big, just something to make the inside white part not so large..but I do like it.
Needs to be all green doors not just edges. You can see where the paint bled through onto the white. I painted my lower cabinets green but all green. Tops are white.
Its a lot of work but can always be repainted if you don't like it.😊 For back pain, there is a book called treat your own back by Robin McKenzie thats a lifesaver. Just simple exercises to help make your back stronger. ❤
Awww! So sorry Anthony did not like it. I thought it was fine but if he is not happy well that’s a problem. You did a great job, it’s not easy. When I did mine for the third time I used Rust o leum white semi gloss spray paint! So EASY! Will never brush paint again. and absolutely no issues at all . 6 years in and you just wash off the dirt, cabinets need to be oil based, And I bought the most expensive cabinet paint the first few times and every time it got gummy around the handles from the oils on our hands,
They have paint for kitchen cabinets.. any enamel paint will work but make sure you prime it first and don’t paint when it’s below 60 degrees… They may say fifty on can but you’ll get the brush marks.. Best to paint in the house… Good luck…
Yes roller for the paint, warmer weather to paint patience pays off when painting!! And has Anthony ever tried cbd gummies all natural and good for inflammation!!
I have that same color or maybe similar but it’s in a cabinet that my brother had built me with open shelving. I’ve already had it about 30 years and it hadn’t been painted in for a long time so I painted it that green and it just pops now the room is white, which I chose a bright white and the trim in the room in the room is black trim matted black So the green is a great pop of color 👍🏽👍🏽
On your entrance doors use a semi gloss paint to be able to wipe hand marks off really easy. Maybe consider painting the inside doors another color than white. Just saying. Again, I would never put paint on in that cold of a temperature. It will not work. If it was me, I would start all over and sand them down the cabinet doors....and have Anthony spray paint them. That way you do not have brush marks. I loved your idea. Running in to problems with the paint....is unfortunate. Paint inside during the winter.
Oh no! Roxanne I had a professional paint my kitchen cabinets, doors and trim white in 2008 and they still look good and I scrub them all the time. They used an enamel paint. The old timey enamel paint looked like plastic but the new paints doesn’t. Maybe repaint your cabinets white and paint the island green? I'm sure you guys will work it out and I can't see to see what you come up with.
Oh, I'm so sorry, Roxanne, but I have to go with Anthony. I don't like it either. I think you should paint the whole cabinet green and not leave it white. In the middle, try one of the cabinets and let us see how it looks. You have so much time into this I would definitely paint them. Why they're hanging in the house and they would dry a lot faster.
So sorry Rox Just a question ❓ When i painted my kitchen cupboards i had to put top coat as well And it helps with the cleaning otherwise your paint is gonna wash off. I know it's hard work ❤ been there
It's always a pain when our hubbies shoot us down. But I have to be honest and I think I would like the whole thing painted green. With your walls being white, I think it would look good. But Roxanne, your the one who has to live with it. If you like it then leave them that way, it doesn't look bad really. I would also consider painting the bottom green and the uppers white again. I like the two tone look. Bless your heart. Thanks for sharing with us.
I always thought that the traditional sanding done before any painting job was to give the intended surfaces to be painted a surface that the new paint could stick to. I'm no painter so I could be wrong. Wow such a horrible ending. Leaving us with ""I don't like it."" Really hope the next video starts out with a ""I love it!"" specially after all your hard work. Me southern AZ.
I agree with Anthony I think making it either all green or all white. But maybe just painting the whole island green will tie it in. I have white cabinets too and for the past 5 years I have been using a magic eraser to clean off the brown hand stains that work great and don't strip the paint.
I'm with Anthony on this one.
I'd Paint the island green for the pop of color, go back to white on all the upper cabinets and use a semi gloss that can handle cleaning.
HEAVY POLY too
Roxane, I think it looks nice & its your kitchen - so if you like it , that's what's important 😉
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺

I agree with Anthony. Paint island green keep cabinets white.

I agree with Anthony! Maybe if they were all painted green cabinets and doors it would look better 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
I like the cabinets way they was...
Good point about the water I neeed to 😅drink more of it
I would have painted them in the greenhouse and maybe put a fan on for them to dry
If you're not totally in love, maybe try painting one upper door solid green and rehang just the one door. Glad you're having fun with the project.❤
Roxanne, you guys hit a Home Run with the green! It stands out and it is beautiful....Congratulations!
We are human. Roxanne be proud of trying something new . I loved it. Keep rto high gloss paint. So easy to clean up. 😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉

I have to agree with Anthony. Just the trim not the facing.😊
Use a small roller to paint with , like you did when you 1st painted them white. Goes on smoother and not streaking
I saw someone give advice that before you remove your painters tape- score the inside edge of the tape and it will lift easier. Should have sanded and way too cold to paint. But we all make mistakes. 👍👍

That color green reminds me of. Baby poop, I think Emerald will be better.❤
I am sad Ant doesn't like it. I love the idea! Let it stay until warmer weather. You might grow to like it.😊😊😊
I’m also with Anthony on this one
Good afternoon coffee… it’s just Paint… as long as I’ve been here.. mine have been many colors… and lol I’ve never painted them myself… dang kids… have a great day…
Hi Rox your cupboard doors look sharp just a nice add on. Love that soft green. 🇨🇦
I painted my cabinets white years ago and I love them. They do require maintenance. I always have a fresh roller and quart of white semigloss on hand.
I love the shade of green u chose but painting Al cabinets top a bottom will make color pop. And give it a more cozy vibe and bring kitchen an ur living room together. Good job Rox keep up the great work u both do !👍🏼😊
I would add handles but I’m not crazy about that green either so.
I’m so sorry you worked so hard on that to end up disappointed. It’s a good thing it’s just paint. I’ve painted something and it not turn out like I had envisioned it. It’s great that you allowed Anthony to be honest. Communication is so important. ❤

Put drawer pulls on. Use wood and paint them the green that way there is a pop of green on each drawer
Anthony 😱 i do agree that with the drawers painted, it would bring it all together beautifully. I think it was a good decision to paint them 😃
Ruth here, it's not bad, l hope you like it, doesn't matter if l like it, l hope you grow to like it
I liked it . I think it looks very nice and the docker green brings the nature outside your home into your kitchen. Live with it Anthony as I think once summer comes and the green leaves come back outside you will like it a whole lot better. Give it a chance.
I think this is a good suggestion.
O Dear Roxanne, I felt bad for you when Antony said I don’t like it babe.In sure you could have cried.I really do like it Roxanne.Maybe it will grow on him.👍🥰
We used metal plates on all our pulls. Haven't had any soiling or scratch problems.
Along with warmer temps, I would also scuff up the old paint lightly with a fine sandpaper....180-200 grit. that will help it hold on also.
I Love It Rock she did an awesome job I think it would be awesome if you did the tall door as a back chalkboard❤❤❤
Some things you just can’t rush. You know that now, seeing the results of the frozen paint, and cold temps. Water under the bridge now! I thought that to she was rushing just to get it done I never liked that color either
You have to have more patience, and paint indoors this time of the year.
I’m with Anthony I think it makes it look cheap
I'd wait on the drawers. You may want to keep them all white
Huge love ❤️ from Canada.
I'm so sorry, Roxanne, that Anthony didn't like it after all your hard work.
I think painting the whole cabinet door green and leave the bottoms white may work. You can paint them while they are hung....hugs
Sorry Roxanne, but I agree with Anthony. The colour looks like baby poop... lol And they aren't done that well...back to the drawing board lovey, use a sponge roller next time or even use spray paint in a semi gloss for wipe-ability and do the painting inside somewhere warmer.
Hi Rox and Ant..I like it all green and then leave the bottoms white..the Island Trim green but very lightly!! Suttle is a good word!!
Oh know. He doesn’t like it now what. Good luck❤️❤️❤️

Maybe you should have use a foam roller to apply the paint to your cupboard doors. No brush mark or streaks that way
Foam leaves bubbles
paint the bottom cabinets all the green and leave the uppers all white. will flow much better plus the lower ones attract the most dirt, maybe put a satin clear on the upper white ones to help make it easier for cleaning the paw prints off

Get a good quality paint that’s washable. And repaint them white.
Anthony’s horde shirt is so cool I miss Wow thinking about. going back playing wow again
Roxanne, I'm sorry your hubby doesn't like the change.
Awww! So sorry Anthony did not like it. I thought it was fine but if he is not happy well that’s a problem. You did a great job, it’s not easy. Cabinets look GREAT! Love it!
You can glue fabric on your cabinets using a 3M spray adhesive. I googled it prior to commenting. To make sure there is a such thing.
Maybe do fabric in the inside panel. That would add an extra pop to those cabinets
Like a country feel or something with that green in it. I do like that green though. Its a pretty shade.
I'm with you, Roxanne. I like it.
They have paint for kitchen cabinets.. any enamel paint will work but make sure you prime it first and don’t paint when it’s below 60 degrees…

That's the great thing about paint, if you don't like the way the project turns out you can just repaint
I would wait to see how you like the doors then ho from there ♥️. Love the green shade!.
Temp needs to be 52 or warmer to paint!
You might also ask if there is a special type paint for cabinets. If I remember right I think my mother used an enamel paint. Easy to clean
I have that same color or maybe similar but it’s in a cabinet that my brother had built me with open shelving. I’ve already had it about 30 years and it hadn’t been painted in for a long time so I painted it that green and it just pops now the room is white, which I chose a bright white and the trim in the room in the room is black trim matted black

I love Semi gloss paint. It is so easy to wipe and it doesn't wipe off the paint
If you have more painting to do the greenhouse may be a good place to do it , out of the elements . 😊💕
Oh no! Roxanne I had a professional paint my kitchen cabinets, doors and trim white in 2008 and they still look good and I scrub them all the time. They used an enamel paint. Just a question ❓
When i painted my kitchen cupboards i had to put top coat as well
And it helps with the cleaning otherwise your paint is gonna wash off.
Respectfully I agree w Ant maybe a different green.
I love the grain, but I would’ve painted the whole door
Paler green needed
It looks good!
I just checked a can of paint the other day to see what temperature is ok & it’s way too cold here in TN !
Hi Roxanne, for your drawers, I would paint the edge of them, so they match what you’ve done on the doors.
I always thought that the traditional sanding done before any painting job was to give the intended surfaces to be painted a
surface that the new paint could stick to. I'm no painter so I could be wrong. Wow such a horrible ending. Leaving us with

I agree with Anthony I think making it either all green or all white. But maybe just painting the whole island green will tie it in. I have white cabinets too and for the past 5 years I have been using a magic eraser to clean off the brown hand stains that work great and don't strip the paint.
I think it looks ok it’s different and it looks clean but I see Anthony does not like it so . Can’t wait to see what comes next with the cabinets ❤❤❤
Good afternoon Roxanne and Anthony
I like the idea of a vine stencil on the drawer
Nice refresh!!!😊😅😂
THINK YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO WHITE OR CREAN THEM PAINT A COUPLE OF COATS OF CLEAR GLOSS, EASY TO WIPE OFF ANY DIRT AND GRIME
