Yes it is literaly half a turn with pedals for motor to kick in.You need pedaling from time to time for electric motor to work.It is amazing feeling.

Fully electric e-bikes with the throttle do exist. However they're currently illegal as they're technically classed as a fully powered vehicle such as an e-scooter. Hence why large shops such as Halfords don't sell full electric bikes.

Hi.It can do hills easy,but not to overuse it on max assistant for too long.So motor lasts longer.
