TH350 transmission is done, but new converter is going back...

- We get our th350 transmission back from tony at mid Michigan transmission completely rebuilt, he found some major issues with it but we upgraded and everything is ready to go back into our 1971 el Camino ss, but our new $1000 dollar tci converter is not up to my standards so we are shipping it back and have to wait for the new 2nd one to arrive in 3 to 5 Business days. And then hopefully we can get the car back together and put some street miles on it before taking it to the track and seeing if any of our changes that we made will make any difference in our ET. You're right. Money is too hard to come by to just throw it away on something you're not happy with. For $1000 I expect a quality converter, some stickers, and it should come in a velvet bag that has angels singing when you open it.

WOW ! That converter looks hammered . Somebody failed their welding classes . 🙈🙉🙊Maybe they tried the new technique where you try to stare at it with no hood while you weld . 🤣🤣😂 Best of luck to you my Brother getting a good one . I'm ready to see the Comino Rock and Rolling again . 🤘👍👍💪🍺🍻

I was gonna go with hughs, we have a 3500b Hugh’s in Ty’s Monte, and if the next one shows up and looks like that we will be probably going with a Hugh’s, these we’re in stock but wtf huh 🤷♂️✌️

I guess I'm lucky I bought convertor from well known shop local to my area. Paid 700 years ago been thru re stall twice and cut open and cleaned but looks nothing like t.c.i quality control these days is down the drain.
I had to have them ship me another one, just came in today be doing another video tomorrow on the second new one 💪✌️
Buddy I ordered a new TCI street fighter converter back last August and it was junk I sent it back and fought 4 months to get a full refund of my money I would not accept a replacement. The threads on tge mounting pads had Weld in them and when I took the rubber cap off tge snout that goes in the pump tge surface where tge seal rides and pump bushing was scored and pitted absolute junk. I did a video and Facebook post on it months ago . Heard nothing but bad stuff about tci converters since my posts
Hopefully next one will be right or I will never buy another tci coverter again 😎✌️
Damn Herb, you should have went with a Coan Racing one,i went through that with my last trans setup! Wouldn't even fit into my crank,So Butler's got ahold of the TCI to get it straightened out! But ya the first one they sent me was a piece of shit like that one you got! But I sold that setup to go for a Coan racing setup with a transbrake and rev.valve body, wasn't cheep but when I retuned my car and put the nitrous on it i had to get a serious setup to take about 900 hp. I hope they get you taken care of on the next one! If not get ahold of coan racing!
Thanks Dave , I had good luck with my first converter 8inch, but wow what a peice of s..t this one is,and I’m not gonna just throw 1k down the drain for something like this, tci should know better you would think 🤔
You ever tried a Freakshow converter? Rode in a 630 horse 406 and it hit really nice.

Dude that is total shit! I was a certified welder for 17yrs I built massive wheels that went into industrial blowers for air movement .
I had to get re certified every year to keep my job. those welds didn't wrap the corners, the double bead is scetchy as hell and the penetration?

If they did me bad I would spend another thousand in gas to drive to them and whoop somebody . I wouldn't buy that converter at a flea market .
