Those caprice’s were great cars, nothing fancy just dependable and comfortable.
They made a fancy one it was called a caprice classic brougham LS , I owned one for many years it was basically a Cadillac but the Chevy version
Had A 77 with 350. Bought it new and drove it 15 years then a guy hit it in the rear and shoved it into a truck ahead wrinkled front and rear fenders and frame that engine still lives in a 1984 gmc.
@@bored2323 I currently have an 89 Caprice classic ls brougham and also the 89 Cadillac brougham, I must say while I think the Cadillac is much prettier the Caprice has more power and handling is another world compared to the Cadillac both great cars though. And I wish I could find more for a decent price
@@kenswitzer4133 i currently have a 77 coupe with a 454 :), 1977 car of the year. Caprices were definitely the shit.
@@BigBlockCaprice the accessories may have been crap but the car was an Impala at heart. I owned an 84 caprice that held up real good.
Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than watching you guys
Thanks Larry.
Guys i love that 65 Ford Galaxy sitting back their . Best car and highway hotrod i ever had was a 65 Galaxy . Lived next door to a body shop and the man that owned it said if i worked a few weeks for him , he would give me the car . Only thing was i had to go out to the wrecking yard and he had a 351w and a C- 6 trans sitting out there ready to be put it . So we got it together thr back seat was shot , but i found a pinto wagon with the fold down seat and it fit just fine , i even mounted the seat latch so that i could fold the rear srat down and made a bed , took my sleeping bag and i didn't need a tent to go out fishing at the Brazos River , just fold that rear seat down and climb in that sleeping bag . They had some great body lines also !!
I love our 65. granddaddy's car
Great to see the Feller still doing well at 68 years old , Happy Birthday , and a Happy Anniversary to David and Miss Nicki T !!
Thanks
now this episode is for me. I am a 80's kid and I grew up with gm G and B body's running the roads.
Thanks for watching.
HEI (electronic ignition) was standard starting in 1975. Points were long gone by 1982.
Yes, but I'm still running points In my 58 cadillac , and 68 Mustang, both in very nice shape.😊
@@johnfranklin5277 Both of which were factory equipped with points. Your reply is absolutely irrelevant and has nothing to do with my comment.
yep... not points..
@@Joesmusclecargarage Wow, I was simply pointing out that mine were still using the original old technology, im no fool, im fully aware that it was original tech for the cars. Im 63 years old old, ive seen all the tech changes 1st hand. Aware both could be upgraded to modern ignition. Your gruff and nasty reply was not warranted, and unnecessary. But certainly exposed what kind of person you are.
@@johnfranklin5277 Don’t cry. Go lay by your dish and play with your crayons.
The “Caprice” in this era was a Grandparents car and Police Car… That went hand in hand because between those two they could not afford to be broke down on the side of the road and they didn’t.
On the ‘66 Plymouth Fury… Wow! how cool, & fun is that! Lookin’ forward to watching this all come together. Make sure she has all original Plymouth parts because this way it’s not only rewarding but you’ll have a special classic car to hold onto.
It was teachers car, uncles car. There were so many of them back in early to. Mid 80's
@@pd9717 And a taxi cab for that matter! These Caprices, the GM Gbody cars, had so many uses and purposes.
Thanks Robert.... looking for a 383 now..
Not bad Parked in the woods for 19 years and it starts right up and drives. Reminds me of my 1968 Chevy Impala it was like that never could kill it. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Without a doubt... Starts right up.
The car is blue, it is as blue as Nicky T shirt.
You know it’s a Chevrolet when it starts up easy.
Agreed
Hey Rev it was great to see all of the family in the car! It is nice to see your son working beside with you! Glad you got another old girl back running and headed down the road.Take care.
Thanks Kat
Man Rev, you are driving me down memory lane with the Old Man's latest acquisition. I had a 66 Plymouth Sport Fury back in 1975. I paid $600 for it with a 383 and an automatic. It was Green and ran like a top. I rewired the ignition with a toggle switch and a push button in the center console glove box. The only thing the ignition switch did was toun on the gauges. I put a new set of tires on her and drove her for two years. Hope you live yours as much as I did mine. The old Chevy did a great job. Thanks and we'll see you next time.
Thanks for watching... God Bless..
A yard full of old cars, is what I'd call heaven. Wish I could have been there.
So glad to see the next generation, younger kids getting involved!
Having fun too.
This is my favorite car of all time ( 1987 Chevrolet Caprice)! I alway wanted one I been looking for one to fix up with my son just like how me and my father use to fix up old cars back in the day. It getting hard to find these cars now & days because a lot of people getting them restored them and selling for 60,70 or 80k now😩 hopefully can find one for a decent price before they all gone🙏🏽
Thanks Pete... Thinking on it. The Ole Man is debating on letting it go.
That Caprice is an excellent find!
Agreed
Yes been awhile since you have been on. You and Nikie T were going to work on the Bronco. And we’re waiting on parts for Pontiac. Congratulations to everyone of your family on participating in starting the 82 Chevy. Hope you and Dad had a great Father’s Day! Loved seeing you again Rev. God Bless your whole Family! And thank you for sharing!
Thanks
I’m a Ford man top to bottom. But I have to admit, it’s hard to kill them old Chevy motors! Although I did destroy a few in my younger days. Love this channel and love seeing you get all the family involved. Keep up the good work and may God richly bless you all!!
Ahh now they admit it 😏😏. Finally give in to what powers 80% of there cars On the track 😉
As an old Chevy guyI appreciate your comment. I never had any serious problems with the fords I have owned but had some bad experiences that could have happened to any vehicle. I have no idea how many millions of miles I have put on chevies over the past70 years. The small block fords are great engines and have been respected since the late 60's.
@@kenswitzer4133 I’ve owned over 40 vehicles in my almost 60 years on this earth and a lot of them have been Chevy. I’ve had good luck and bad luck out of them both. The toughest vehicle I’ve ever owned was a 76 Malibu. I beat that poor car to death and it just came back for more until there was nothing left of it. But as far as dependability, fire up and go whenever I need it, Ford has been the one most reliable.
@@BillHilly169 not for me
Even at their worst, GM made good motors.
Had a 1991 Cutlass Ciera that I bought in 2015 for $800. Needed to get out of Tampa, with my stuff, in a bad way, and had $1K to do it. Drove it for a year until the trans started slipping...drove it in reverse to the junkyard.
Had the 3300 Buick engine (destroked 3800). That engine was torquey, reasonably efficient, and reliable. It was probably the only good thing about that car, by the time I got it. Cannot really hate the car--despite the sagging seats, broken a/c, and failing wheel bearings, it got me and all my stuff away from Psycho Babe and her unending lineup of 'Rican boy-toys.
I always liked those Caprices. I worked at a Chevy dealer in early '90's and prepped many of those for sale.
This one still has life.
Those old Caprices were awesome cars, well built, durable and easy to work on! I had a 91 Caprice Classic as a daily driver for 12 years.
I know you like working on four words but honestly you've been working on a little bit of everything I just like watching you and your dad y'all crack me up
We have a blast working together.
I love your energy brother seems like you really at peace in your life
Just having fun and serving the Lord.
That really is an awesome car! So cool that the whole family participated in some way!😎

Love the t-shirt Mr. “Ol Man”! Great family Rev! Thank you for sharing your fun.

Wow Nicki T , my first bought new at the dealership vehicle was a 81 ford F100 stepside , and yes it had a wooden bed in it !!

And all I got to say is praise God you still got your father and he can do crazy things with him

It might be a green four door Chevrolet, but still a good part of the history of the family. I know you know this but it does not have points and condenser, not scene 1976. Happy Birthday to your dad a little late. This channel would not be as much fun without him. I think you should clean it up and fix the little problems and put the hubcaps back on. Good video.
Thanks... I think it is blue and that is my story and I am sticking to it.
NOW THAT WAS A REAL GOOD CAR BACK IN ITS TIME WHEN THEY WERE MADE. AND ALSO THAT WAS PRETTY COOL TO SEE ALL OF YALL RIDEING IN IT TOGETHER. AND I WOULD LIKE TO TELL THE OLD MAN A LATE HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND I WILL LIKE TO SAY TO ALL FATHERS OUT THERE EVEN THOUGH IT HAS ALREADY PAST A HAPPY FATHERS DAY AND THE REASON I AM TYPEING WITH MY CAPPS ON. Happy Birthday Sparky, and happy 19th to you and Nikky-T Rev. Glad the car fired right up,and just needs the trans sealed.Sand the drive shaft and slip in a new seal and Ta-da.I recognized the wondering, longing look on JC's face as he looked over the Willy's.He's trying to picture it all redone and running with him at the wheel. That would be a great adventure for all the family too.Rebuilding, and remodeling when time and money fit it.I'd love to redo it to running and driving myself as I grew up with Willy's.

got to admit that ole Chevrolet is what made me watch this video. In my eyes the Caprice classic is the best cruiser of any car brand. have to mention the Oldsmobile 98 Royal too. I'm a die hard bow tie boy till death. by the way there is no points in a 82 gm.
hopefully that kid learned something from this video. chevys just don't give up.
you know 90% of all FORDS ARE STILL ON THE ROAD.. THE OTHER 10% ACTUALLY MADE IT HOME.

Looking forward to the Fury. Growing up my older neighbor bought a hemi version when he got back from Viet Nam circa 1967. I watched him dig holes in the asphalt pavement with the studded snow tires. You could hear the studs pinging the wheel wells as they flew out of the tires. Hard to start when it got below zero, he finally added a second battery for the Wisconsin cold
And happy birthday “old man” I’m three weeks behind you!
The Fury is going to be fun.

Hi Rev & to the rest of the family. I like the Chevy Caprice classic you didn't have to do much work on the car. I hope the Falcon manual help you out on the car. Take care! Let me know if you need anything.
Thank you for the manual. I enjoy the artwork and diagrams... Good stuff
I got a name for that old Chevy Caprice. Call it “The Cheviac”. What would be a really cool modification is cut the exhaust out, turn the exhaust manifolds upside down, cut the pipes that connected to the exhaust manifolds to a foot in length, and last but not least, cut two holes in the hood for each pipe and you have 2 pipes popping out of the hood. The result is a loud and sweet sounding Cheviac
Will... this one will have some work done to improve a bunch.
Glad to see the next generation helping you guys out. Great video as usual.
