I know the video is old but great video anyway. Rob actually ended up being my DPE when I got my license last year. Looking back I’m glad I had him. The plane had some issues we found on the preflight we had to wait for the mechanic to adjust it at the school and Rob could’ve left but he waited so I could take my test. .
This is interesting as hell! And that's a pretty reasonable deal for the whole ticket. The more time passes, the more I like those Seareys. I thought they were a little half-assed when they came out, a little too flimsy and toy-like. Now I'm not so sure. Bertorelli is one of many though who have talked about how much fun they are and how well they fly. This latest vid has got me thinking about them again. The Icon looks so good but...
The Searey has circumnavigated the planet. Only single engine to do so solo. Mike Smith. Its also got a great community of pilots. Built mine more than a decade ago and still love it.
Ha ha the sarcasm is thick! Makes the video a lot of fun, either you stepped up your fun game or I’ve got to go back through all those videos and see just how much sarcasm I’ve missed 🧐 great video!
The first time I landed a seaplane on water (C185 on amphibian floats) getting dual insturction, my mind was screaming BAD, BAD THING.... It was a splash and go. It was a hoot.

I got a question. What is your suggestion on how many flight hours one should have before advancing to seaplanes? I am interested in the Sport aspect of it as I am hard of hearing and just wanted to do sports flying. My family is moving to Florida next summer so I say within 2022 I could be submitting my application for flight training.

I should’ve taken advantage of this when I lived across the lake from there. Floats are awesome.

What a boatload, (no pun), of fun Paul! Great video!
Good job, as always. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the quality video. Good explanations.
Learned a lot in 10 min, thanks
Loved my 1999 SeaRey 914T. Flew back from Cali to Conn in December, 1999. N6181X
Great Video! I took my Searey training in Tavares too, great time! Still haven't made a purchase yet, but a Searey Elite may be on the Horizon. ; )
I know you enjoyed this training. I ended up buying an Aventura after doing my training.

That looks fun as hell.
Great Video as always Paul 😎
back to the essence of what drew me to getting my license in the first place
want one....
Good video - Thanks :)
Gotta say.i find it astounding for some one to land with landing gear in the wrong position simply due to they forgot!!!!
Cool!
Hey so with a sport license do you still need a float endorsement? I thought you could fly any LSA with a sport license.
Soaring glide
Maybe true until you talk to an insurance company.
@@KenLeonard Insurance? Is insurance required if you buy the plane with cash?

I want a Searey
Thanks for the excellent report and good video but for some of the the in-aircraft audio, "Bad sound makes good video look bad."

If your air work is solid and you can land comfortably on a runway, do it. I much prefer water landings to runway landings.

It's pronounced TAHV-AIR-EES
What did he say? My first thought was "ta-var-ez" I'm not a local though.
Wikipedia gives it as tuh-vair-ees. I heard several versions including the one I used.
