hi, one question. My IV, Mediator and DV are ordinal. Do I have to transform them into dummy variables first?

I have a question, apart from mediation if we have two more hypothesis like relationship between IV and Mediator, and relationship between mediator and DV . Do we run simple linear regression to test these hypothesis?
