For australia transit visa sub class 771, how is the “must not enter after” date is calculated? Or in other words what is the validity of the australia transit visa from the date of issue within which I have to make use of the visa? I am not asking about the length of stay.
The Transit Visa is generally valid for one year. However, if a specific date for "must not enter after" is mentioned, means your transit visa expires on that same mentioned date. Thanks.

On 5th Aug 2023, I applied for my Australian transit visa. Today on 8th Aug I got an email that my Visa has been Granted. Do I still need to go for a Biometric?
Nope, not at all. If you have your visa granted already just check the dates of entry and any requirements there. If the biometrics is not mentioned, then all clear for you. Thanks

I was granted transit visa 771 on May 19, 2023, it turns out that I was not able to travel on the dates where I sent the documents with hotels and flights. It turns out that now in September I was given the opportunity to travel and I need to go through Australia. Can I use the transit visa that I have been granted since May? According to the visa it says that it can be used until before May 19, 2024. And the other thing, can I transit through the Australian airport and after a month go back through the airport to take another flight?
As the date of entry is mentioned before19 May 2024, you are totally fine to transit through Australia. If your flight numbers are now different, you must update the information in you Immiaccount to inform the authorities. You do not need yo re-apply the visa. Thanks
Ii applied more than 3 weeks ago. My wife's Transit visa came 10 days ago. Same PNR and travel itinerary is mine but i am still waiting. Is it possible that they might delay my Transit visa for another 2 weeks ? That would mean my cancelling my whole trip.

No. It means the one certified by the notary. Let them know that you want it for the immigration purposes and the notary will use the stamps accordingly. Thanks

Yes you do need to apply for the Transit Visa. Yoi can apply it from India as well but you might find it difficult to figure out biometrics services there. Better to at least do biometrics here in NZ and then wait for the visa in India. Hope this helps. Thanks

If you are transiting through Australia for less than 8 hours and remain in the transit area, you don't have to apply for an ETA or any other type of visa.
Google is not an authority over Australia or over any other country. If the requirements are updated, they will be found in the Department of Home Affairs, Australia website. Thanks
madam i have stop over for 1 hour at Sydney while travelling to new Zealand according to Australia high commission they mentioned if layover more than 8 hours need a transit visa if lesser not required

india is not a part of biometric program so i think there is no need to provide biometric for a person who are traveling from india to newzealand via austraila, only apply transit visa a with proper asked documents and wait for their reply.
You do not need to apply for biometrics unless asked, whether applying from India or anywhere else. But yes, generally they do not ask for biometrics if you are based in India. Thanks

When you go to Notary, they add a stamp on documents saying fit for immigration purposes or similar. Thanks

I think in India notary attests all the documents, you must specify that you are getting the documents attested for Immigration purposes and they stamp it accordingly. Yes biometrics can be arranged at any nearby VFS global office. Thanks
Just found out mostly Indian citizens don't need biometrics if they have submitted their Adhaar card and put the Indian residence address in the visa application.

I have an Australian tourist visa, but I want to go to New Zealand, and I have a New Zealand visa when I travel. Maybe my plane will land at Australia airport, and do I need a transit visa until I get to New Zealand from Australia?

Mam i think we can go outside on transit visa. Bcoz my mum came to nz via aussi. She had a layover of 10hrs at melbourne. So she went out to my relatives.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's great that your mom could go outside but that decision is totally up to the Department. Also because your relatives live in Australia, the layover was long enough for a senior, these factors do affect the decision. If you will look into the Department's website it clearly mentions that you cannot leave the airport, so I cannot talk about anything other than the official information. Hi. My Transit Visa was granted in November and it says must not arrive after February, As I'm a a Seafarer from India my joining was on November but now it has been postponed to March. My question is that do I have to reapply for Australian Transit Visa. If I had to reapply for Transit Visa than I wait for my Transit Visa to get expired on February or I can apply for Transit before that.

No, you don't. Your one-time Transit Visa is valid for 1 year. You can travel multiple times in one year without a new transit visa or biometrics. Once your transit visa expires, you reapply for the transit visa however, the biometrics requirement then will be established by the Department of Home Affairs Australia. Most likely, they will already have your previous record so might not want a new one. Thanks

First, check with your airline if they transfer the luggage to your final destination. In all airports, luggage collection comes before the immigration point anyway, so no I don't think you need to go through immigration. Once again, your airline is the best point of contact for this. Thanks

I am not sure if you have received any reason of previous rejections. I would suggest to choose alternative route, unless they provide you a reason for rejection. Other routes might be expensive now but at least you will be able to travel with surety. It's hard to find flights I know. Good luck. Thanks

I currently have Australian Tourist Visa subclass 600. I am flying to Auckland via Australia, so I would need Australian Transit Visa 771. My query is that, will applying for 771 visa cancel my tourist visa or I can hold both. 771 to transit and 600 in future to visit Australia.
My understanding is that you have entry permission in the form of Tourist Visa already, so you may not need the Transit Visa as it is just another form of entry permission. Please check with Department of Home Affairs Australia directly. Thanks

Transit visa pr bahar jane ka experience kai log share kar chuke hi lekin maine officially ye statement kahi padhi nahi. My understanding is k agar apki flight me gap jyada hi to immigration officer shayad apko bahar jane de. Please transit visa pr bahar jane ki requirement ko check kr lijiye. Transit visa ka form fill karte waqt apko flight details or arrival date fill karne ka section ata hi to flight details apko chahiye. Ap current processing time check kr lijiye jisse apko visa kitne time me aa jaega iski idea lag jaega. 1st time, I got it in 40 days 2nd time in 9 days. Hope it was helpful. Thanks

There are high chances to receive a positive outcome on your visa application with a confirmed ticket. Please note the application can take upto 30 to 90 days to process. There are always exceptions. Thanks
My transit visa got refused what can I do
Sorry to hear that. If you did provide your ticket, travel arrangements, and biometrics (if requested by immigration), and have provided any other information requested by them, then you can definitely ask for a reason. When they decline an application, they always communicate under which section of the Immigration Act have they declined the application. Please check that section of the Act for more clarification. You can always reapply, this decline will not affect your application. Thanks

Agar ap Indian Passport pr travel kr rhe hi or apke pas Australia ka koi aur visa nahi hi (tourist/visitor) then to change your flight from Australia or to stay at the airport, you need a transit visa. Please contact Department of Home Affairs Australia for further guidance.

It is a requirement as per Department of Home Affairs, Australia. There are hugh chances that noone asks about this visa while boarding, but if they do then you need to show one. Better to be prepared. Please check the updated information on Department of Home Affairs, Australia website 🙏

If I remember it right, once you start the application form, you have the option to include family in it. I am almost certain you do not need a seperate form for your daughter's transit visa, they might ask for her biometrics though. Please start the application and you will find all the updated information there. You are not paying any fee till you go for biometrics. Thanks
