I get that from some friends and family. They call it being paranoid, until they need tweezers to pull out a splinter while 3 miles in the woods... then I pull out my Swiss army knife, and then an extra pair of gloves. And that's on the easy end of things.
I starting following this group after a free class at 5.11 Back in the Before Times, when we gathered everyehere! Every time we have power or weather issues, loss of cell service, I think Mike had the right idea
Me and my gf were just talking about last night! Haha I fully agree. If you're inside and see the other person down, clear the house before attempting help. You can't help if you're not situationaly aware and get attacked too.
I carry two med kits in my truck. One for me specific but also one for auto wrecks. I have been close to a couple and you need stuff to help others. Have kit for yourself yet be always ready to help others.
On the motorcycle I can be first responder. In the USA, if you're not from California, you may not know how well bikes can slip thru stopped traffic I carry a personal kit on leg, TQ guaze scissors etc..and a larger bag on the luggage rack Europeans are used to bikes legally moving thru traffic, Most Americans are not
Best channel for comprehensive personal preparedness. Clarity of thought, with God given communication skills. Carry on ! Like to have a discrete hard copy of "Pillars".
well done. When I flew medical helicopter ( medevac ) I was amazed how unprepared the med crew I inherited was. They knew nothing of after crash procedures, prep for emergency landing, prep for survival after a forced landing and procedure for evacuating and extracting survivors of our ship. They thought I was trying to scare them by talking about emergency after landing procedures, expectations , situation awareness and keeping track where populated areas were along the way if they had to pick a direction to hike after a landing.
That was an awesome presentation please keep them coming. Thank you for all that you do training us to be better. I Also want to thank you for your service to this great nation. God bless
Great perspective on EDC. My dad who was in Vietnam and in the Army to this day hates flip flops. They are a liability. "You're going to break your ankle" I can hear it now. :-)
Lol. I learned the same thing. I never wear flip flops anymore. I actually only wear either lightweight "combat style" boots or heavier "combat style" boots, depending on weather... It's good to always be ready.
This is perfect, Mike! Short and to the point for busy bodies like myself. We just had a massive reality check in Texas a few weeks ago and all of your info helped tremendously! Thank you for what you and all of your team do.
Mike, I have a few video ideas that I wanted to see if you would consider doing. -Emergency Car Kit -Wazoo Cache Belt/Wazoo Cache Hat -EDC pocket dump -Survival Kits -IFAK's you personally carry or like I enjoy the knowledge and videos you have share. Keep up the great work. -Braiytryene Gibbons
Those boots are from Buckle...I have the black pair. In comparison to a pair I got from Rocky Boot...I would say that the ones from Buckle are not as comfortable and I wish the soles were thicker. Not enough between the feet and the ground....but they look ok....just won't last long in the elements especially doing any kind of outdoor work. Cheers.
Tailoring a kit suitable for my day to day situation, a truck driver in NJ, was difficult. I travel up and down the state, from populous and dangerous Jersey City, to the more rural pine barrens and southern shore coast. Even in your free time in NJ, you can easily go from rural towns to populous cities to dense woods to mountains in a short period of time. Staying prepped in these situations was tough, even more so with a family, but I think I have it figured out.
A simple case in point, I just recently traveled to NH. We drove there with no issue utilizing my Bro-in-laws phone for GPS directions. I drove back having never traveled any of the roads that I took back. I have always made a point to carry my tool bag with me on road trips, just to have some basic tools to maybe be able to remedy an issue. On the way back I found a good spot on the dash to prop my phone to follow the route, I had to push it upright into a tray on the dash. While doing that it somehow must have dislodged my SIM card to where my phone was unable to connect the SIM. In my tool bag I just happened to have a paperclip that I use for my work. I popped out the SIM, repositioned it and I was back in business. If not I would have bought a map somewhere. I was prepared by just thinking of bringing my tool bag with me in the first place to be able to fix my SIM issue easily in less than 2 minutes.
Preparedness must be teach in school. as a 21 yrs old Education Student, i usually bring up this kind of topic and discuss it with my classmate. and sadly only few of them are interested with this kinda thing, they might act like they are interested but it extremely obvious that they are not interested.
....NH is constitutional carry. You don't need a 2A permission slip there, resident or not. Unless you're using it for reciprocity for a few other states.
Pertaining to communication, CB radio often gets overlooked, but could be an excellent close range option if you're mobile. It's also easier to get into, no license required. Good 1st step to getting HAM license
I too have been looking into this... There's so many different options out there that it's confusing. Plus the "minutes" you need to buy... It really adds up in cost. I'd like to get one that is highly recommended.
Great video. I appreciate that because it makes me re-evaluate my system or what I think is a system. I need to sit down and think about some redundancies on a few items.
This was a really good video. Spot on throughout, truly I agree and practice eerily most of what you talked about. Had to let my sat phone go this year though.
Mike, great info and inspiration as always! Question though. In regards to Ham radio, I may have just missed it but, are we talking RX only or TX/RX? Also, I haven’t come across this anywhere but, when everyone’s using their Baofengs and such, anything with Chinese logic chips could be just shut down (best case) or worst case, weaponized by covert aggressors, to tap comms. Even to track/relay positions to hostile forces. Love to hear a pros thoughts on this. If not, no worries brother, stay safe and keep chugging. Cheers from 30+ year veteran in sunny S.C.
Great video man, I just recently subscribed to your channel and your thoughts and perception on resilience & preparedness is really inspiring man. Thank you 🙏🏽 🤙🏽
Thanks Mike. Learned alot from your videos. Unfortunately my state NY and especially Long Island does not allow me the right to carry. We get restrictions on our ccw permits. It is an absolute Bs situation
Just watched this 2 yr old video again and it shook me to the “ core “ on how relevant this is in todays world . 2 yrs ago this was extreme
Everyone rolls their eyes and calls you crazy for being prepared until something bad happens.
Couldnt agree more

Oops
I think about Mikes truck and how these prepper guys were right all along!
Yup...
The Main principle above all is ‘You’- Take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
Me and my gf were just talking about last night! Haha I fully agree. If you're inside and see the other person down, clear the house before attempting help. You can't help if you're not situationaly aware and get attacked too.
This translates well to both household finances and national economic policy.
Thanks for the reminder 👍
Mike has the heart of a teacher. Thanks, Mike!

Great video Mike. Satellite phone is a good idea and HAM radio. Great thought
Mike I love your attitude towards personal safety and preparedness!
Mike, Another informative lesson. Thanks for all you, Kevin and the rest of the company does for us.

Loved having that sheriff net in the sky!
Some of the best info condensed in an easily understood video. Great stuff, Mike!
Thanks for walking through this Mike.
Situational awareness is the most undervalued skill one could have, and it’s shocking how many civilians lack even basic situational awareness

I am not quite as old as him...but close...I HATE Crocs for the same reason. "Wear real shoes"
I feel like I should be paying for the quality of this information. Real talk
Such a good video. I've shared it with my friends. Can't wait for the next one. Keep going bro.

Crocs are great cause they have that strap that can go behind your heel so you can run when the shit hits the fan but remain stylish and cool 😎

Just signed up for your April 3rd class in Phoenix. Looking forward to meeting and training with Fieldcraft Survival!!!
Gonna have to get a tour and review of those bookshelves there.
Good ol western paperbacks
Mike....can't wait to get to a class close to Ohio. You have given me some new tools to restructure/rethink my preparedness. Thanks.
I need to renew my NH non-resident carry licence. Don't get me wrong the gun is important but one of 100 things to consider.
....NH is constitutional carry. You don't need a 2A permission slip there, resident or not. Unless you're using it for reciprocity for a few other states.
The stuff coming out of Mikes mouth is per gold listen up boys
Excellent principles of preparedness presented in this video.
Great information! Taking my amateur radio exam in November.
Wow I mean just this little segement reminded me that your never completely prepared and it's ever evolving
Pertaining to communication, CB radio often gets overlooked, but could be an excellent close range option if you're mobile. It's also easier to get into, no license required. Good 1st step to getting HAM license
Love the bookshelf. Any books you'd recommend?

"I'm Asian... I like flip-flops." - Mike Glover
Amen to all of that, thanks.
CSM only you would be BA enough to fly fish on a frozen river! TY for your mentorship.
Thank You Sir
Great video and thought process on preparedness!
This was a really good video. Spot on throughout, truly I agree and practice eerily most of what you talked about. Had to let my sat phone go this year though.

STAY STRONG AMERICA 💪🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏽STAY READY
Another excellent video. Thank you
Great Info Thanks Mike
Hi Mike, do you carry a pocket knife, or a fixed blade for EDC and if so what do you carry? Thanks 😊
I have those same boots, Merica!!!
I am just a civilian but I like Mike's military mindset and try to live by it, but what happened to the rest of the series?
Do I save me by saving you? Or do I save myself FIRST in order to understand what I need to do?
Good vid. Not sure those boots fit into mobility. Just f’n with ya. Thanks for the vid.
They do work for ass kicking, however :)
I am liking these videos!
Mike also has PACE plan for date nights

Good stuff
What kind of ham radio do you recommend in case of a natural disaster?
Great content. Thank you!
Great video man, I just recently subscribed to your channel and your thoughts and perception on resilience & preparedness is really inspiring man. Thank you 🙏🏽 🤙🏽
Rule of thumb, don't put anything on your feet you can't run in or fight in.
Go race a cowboy then,, holler back how that worked out for ya...
Can you recommend some Sat Phones and Walkie Talkies that are waterproof and top quality?
YOU created the "Pillars of Preparedness"? Intersting.
Great info and vid as always Mike! What would you recommend for a “go to war” handgun?
Check out nutnfancy here on you tube. He has a section of “ go to war guns”
Great content, as usual.
Thanks Mike. Learned alot from your videos. Unfortunately my state NY and especially Long Island does not allow me the right to carry. We get restrictions on our ccw permits. It is an absolute Bs situation
Great info really helpful thanks.
