Thank you, I’m on 84% batt health and I’m planning to buy a smart battery case and replace my Xs max battery. That’s about $250 total cost. It’s okay for me, at least I’m gonna use it for another 2-3 years.
I had a smart battery case for my 7 and then currently using my XR. They worked excellent and reliably but for only about one year. The silicone started to peel off and at the end of it, I was only left with the inner shell and not to mention it repeatedly connects and disconnects every 5 seconds while it’s on my desk. It’s just not worth the money because it doesn’t last as long as the phone and with the amount they’re asking for, it should.
Ive been using iphone 11 pro smart battery case (the last smart battery case apple has ever made) for over a year and a half with 0 problems accept for the silicone peeling in some places but thats to be expected with the use my phone gets and my general lack of caring to take better care of it. Aside from the silicone peeling and the battery in the battery case degrading (battery case and phone fully charged still lasts all day with heavy use and has some left over) it has been a great case with no issues and im so used to having one im reluctant to upgrade phones because apple does not make the smart battery case, just that stupid battery you stick on the back of your phone with magsafe, i love the fact that mine is a case. One more thing I have to say is i have been using it daily for over a year and the first year i would rarely ever let my battery case die, which means for 95% of my iphone 11 pro’s life, it has been at 100% and charging. I wonder what that does to the battery and how it differs from normal use. (Charged, drained)
Come to find out there is a replacement program for this case for the XS. Apple told me that 14.5 should update the case. It doesn’t connect as of now and it’s a new replacement they gave me. All of the cases don’t work, they tried the ones in the Apple Store when they were replacing mine. Shows zero% when connected to phone.

Not sure if someone has mentioned this already, but the phone gets battery directly from the case when your phone is at 100% and in the case. This takes the load off your phone’s battery and preserves its health. Thats the ‘smart’ part of the case and why it has a smaller mAh compared to 3rd party cases, it needs room for the logic boards and stuff.
