ibez07 Why interpret his "clean" as refering to exhaust emissions? It was clear he was referring to mechanical simplicity, light weight and clean lines of this Yamaha.
TheDidiwolf34 It unfortunately broke in half three years ago in march in an accident. There is a picture of the thing on my G+ if you want to see it. I know, nobody uses that :) I keep that pic sort of in Memory of this little thing.. Glad you like it however.
awesome stuff, I absolutely loved and now miss the motogp 500 two strokes, just that sound and raw power which required a different rider skill level compared to the electronically enhanced bikes of today.
This demonstrates more than any other example how powerful the racing two strokes were. No 4-stroke 250cc engine can't produce this much horsepower and torque.
These bikes are utterley jaw dropping!(& other 2stroke GP bikes). Seeing them on track at brands one year and then seeing the BSB bikes made them seem even more WOW, they sound so loud and move so fast it's hard to appreciate unless you see & hear them on track!.
Great video ....makes me hanker after my Rs250 aprillia i sold a couple yrs ago...loved that bike used to take my mates sportsbikes for a blast every now then never rated any of them compared to my little 250 it used to make them feel like big armchairs you cant beat a 250 2 stroke ripper gp bike for handling, noise, and looks.
YOU LUCKY SOB!!! In one video you've summed up all my teenage to adult years wet dreams. That and the 500 I would sell my family for. Great great video, I'll be watching this one over and over.
Thanks Mate... excellent video. as a balding fat nearing 50 old man, I love watching these old 2 strokes hammering around the track. We have to quicken the build of my 2 stroke
Spent a good portion of my life on these things, riding around the San Fernando Valley in the 1980s and the high desert. Most amazing motorcycles on earth two stroke, the sound, the smell the acceleration. I've had RZs, RDs TZRs, NSRs RGVs and kawi triples. Loved every one. None were better, they all rock. Most were 250s, the RZs were 350s and 500s, the triple was a74 h1500 just all amazing. Wish I was 30 again
I’ve just got back into bikes after a 15 year lay off. Last one was a GPZ900R, new one is a VFR800F (yes, I know, yawn yawn, but I’m 54 and, although I started riding at age 11, it’s fast enough for me...). Anyway, I found channels like 44Teeth, Baron Von G, Richy Vida, The Missenden Flyer etc in the months since getting the Honda and they are absolutely brilliant; so informative, passionate and funny. The Baron only lives a few miles from me, I’ll buy him a Lucozade if I ever bump into him on the A31. I particularly enjoyed seeing how much you adore that TZ. I felt the same way about the 900R when I bought it because I’d wanted one since they were released in ‘84 when I was 20. Wish I hadn’t sold it now. It’s time for a new TV program about motorcycling and I know EXACTLY who the presenters should be....
That bump right on the apex of the left at the first chicane is a right pain in the ass! Almost had me over the bloody handle bars last year haha. belting video as per chaps!
Your voice when he said you could take it out for another couple of laps made me genuinely happy. That bike sounded amazing too. If only we had some more ride by shots!
Bravo! What an awesome bike! Takes me back to the days of my 1977 RD400! Still searching and hoping to find another two stroke road bike these days. Your video just recharged my hopes and dreams, thanks!
Spectacular. A mate used to race these at the TT back in the 90's... Katie Parkinson - 108mph if I recall correctly.. it used to spend the year behind our sofa.. Them wert days!
had a new 75 rd350, put on chrome chambers rear set pegs low bars had so much fun on Skyline rd above the bay area with it,best it ran when it was bored .50,always tuned at Yamaha of San Jose
100kgs pushing 90hp... Put carbon wheels on it since it won't even stress them at all due to its already low weight and also a nice alloy or carbon swingarm and get the weight down to 90kgs so the bike can have 1 horsepower for every kilo it weighs 👌 can you imagine some poor twat at the track on his new 959 Panigale and this thing just blazing past him with only a 250 motor lol
radialdrift wrong, he was talking about custom parts to the engine ect, reason Yamaha don't use carbon wheels is due to price not design .. they're like $4k and a swing arm has to be custom made for this one.
In full race spec with a 2 stroke genius my mate has one he races at the classic tt and it's around 98hp and about 95kgs we load it in to the van by one either side hand on the peg and pick it up and lift it in
I raced at Daytona in '75 (not the 200, but several prelim races) on a TZ-250 B...my bike was ported by my Dad (a Rocket Scientist/Engineer out at Cape Canaveral who did all my Motocross port work over my racing career) and we felt like it had 4 or 5 more H.P. than the published 51 H.P. I was a Sr. in H.S. and had just turned 18 and I had a blast...during Open practice I got passed coming off the tri oval going into the 1st turn by a certain #1 plated TZ-750 ridden by You Know Who. p.s. that dude is BIG....I think I weighed a buck thirty five when I was racing.
Kick your fucking stupid arse on any track. What the fuck has hair length got to do with his worth as a racing motorcyclist or a racing mechanic? Fucking judgemental asses. What is he supposed to look like? You? Valentino Rossi? James Bond?
I had one of the last RGV250's in the UK, and used to love watching the two strokes, but could never understand the benefit if water injection. Riding into a bank of low lining fog one day I found out why they do it. Felt like the power doubled instantly.
I never got to ride a TZ 250 but I did get to ride my friend's bike, a TZ 250 chassis with an RD 400 engine in full racing spec. Street legal. Totally awesome but the chassis is not made for many miles on rough mountain roads. The frame started cracking pretty regular. It had to be retired after a relatively short but spectacular life as a road machine.
That's a real dream of mine! I used to sit in the paddock with various proddy bikes in my awning over the years surrounded by RS or TZ's wishing I was on one. 😃 doesn't help being 6'4" either tbf.
One of the great crimes against motorsport was the banning of two-strokes. Racing changed. They are such fine machines, such a joy to watch in the hands of a skilled operator. Anyone who remembers the days of 250 GP, on the world, national or local stage can attest to how exciting they were. Thank you!
I thought 2-strokes were phased out in Thailand? Or is that just no more new 2-strokes being sold? I have a Thai built 2002 NSR 150 SP, highly modded. Needs engine rebuild but I still can get parts from Tyga Performance. Stock WHP 27, modded 34. Has modded ports, power valve, carbon reeds, exhaust, carbon muffler, performance ECU, rejetted, rearset "step kit", alloy sprocket, with 1 tooth taller (into the red in top gear with stock gearing), rebuilt gear box, clutch and some suspension mods. The frame is not so good but then it's not supposed to be a racing machine but a racey small capacity street bike. Do Tyga carry parts for the TZ?
When I started road racing in 1987 I was really wanting to go to Europe and race F1 ,but me mates in the states, kept talking about the TZ 250,but I never really got close to one.
My friend Rhys Hardisty races a 5ke like this at the classic tt etc has had a podium finish in the supertwins Manx gp and a 5th in the classic tt with the privateers medal and shared the podium with Bruce anstey. He'll be over again this year and hopefully have better luck not like last year when the bike seized during the race
Dear Santa... I like the TZs, the RG(V)s, the NSRs and the RSVs.. hopefully, there will be parts to keep these rockets terrorizing tracks for many, many years to come... For the bigger TZs, I even recently found brand-new cases & cylinders being made for the TZ750! Now, if they can get a clutch that will hold up to the power...
Oooo I am 48 years old now When i was way yoinger in 1991,92,93 i also raced 250cc gp bikes I had a honda rs250 but 1985 model dor a year and then also a tz250w updated to A spec(porting etc) and totaly other pipes, which made a huge differance With white power rear suspension and rest was standard Also good jetting And the sound was the best I also wish i could have it back That two stroke sound with the smell of motul 800 two stroke Oooo
I sure miss the 2 strokes !! I had an RZ 350, just a street bike, always wanted to race a TZ 250, didn't everyone? I raced a FZR 600, remember getting blasted by these in practice, oh well. But... now we will have a 750 4 stroke triple to replace these jewels in Moto 2, thanks Honda for no more 2 stokes in GP racing. I did get to see the last of the 250's and 125's racing at Indy GP, still miss the sound, smell, everything about 2 strokes
Mr Turner seems like a top bloke! Not many would encourage you to take their pride and joy for another thrashing!
I've always believed the 250 GP 2 strokes where the perfect racing motorcycle. These machines are so pure in the design and purpose. Great video!
Just something about that sweet, clean minimalism of a two stroke race bike... What an awesome bloke too encouraging you back out haha. 👍🏻
A CLEAN 2 STROKE??? not in my experience
ibez07 the look... that’s got a clean look.
ibez07 Why interpret his "clean" as refering to exhaust emissions? It was clear he was referring to mechanical simplicity, light weight and clean lines of this Yamaha.
@@ibez07 And what exactly is your experience?
@@nedimsu what did i say?
2 Stroke magic!! The sight, sound & smell of them can't be beaten!
Never understood them. They sound like a bottle of wheezy bees and smell like smokey crap. Give me 4 stroke any day of the week.
I just thumbs up all 44 Teeth’s videos even during the starting ad... never been wrong.
With ya there buddy. 👍every time.😄
now that we finally know that evil officially is diesel engines, can we bring 2 strokes back ? Every second of the video is 👌
Well they are still around but I know what you mean!
Love how 0-7k rpm is so irrelevant that it is shrunk down.
my FZR250 complains at anything less than 4k takeoff so i can't imagine how temperamental a TZ would be
Finally at two stroke on 44T!!! Been waiting for another since the 125 test with the Aprilia. More two strokes please!!
Brought back some very warm and fuzzy memories of my TZR 250 from 1989...Thank you!
@@tristankress6647 2MA...Thinking back it was a 1987. D reg...Awesome little bike.
Nothing beats the sound of a buzzing 2 stroke IMO....top video again lads 👌👌
Those downshifts were beautiful! Great video.
I freaking love that sound, just so perfect
This was beautiful to watch. Thank you. My first bike was a TZR. No amount of tech, speed and money and can compete with nostalgia.
Damn, now I miss my RZ500. I love the smell of burnt Castrol in the morning, it smells like, VICTORY!
I'm not gonna ask what happened to it, but If I were your son and you sold your own RZ500, I would've never forget you 😁
Just found out my bike is a write off so started re-watching 44teeth videos. They don't disappoint.
Beautiful bike. Great folks! 100Kg wet, GP geometry, that sound... wow #twostrokelove:)
44teeth just keep bring out the quality content. Keep it up guys
Nothing beats the sound of a racing twostroke reving into its revrange. Stunning bike.

not everyone's cup of tea. but that's why i still keep my aprilia rs125 huehuehue
Glorious as usual, I always love the romantic cinematic shots at the start 😍
This bike makes Al look like a monster sitting on top of it. Sounds amazing too.
Thanks for another awesome video!
Next, an Aprilia RSW 250 please.
Yes. I can't even explain what's this emotional thing I'm feeling right now, but I know that is a gem that really deserves a place in our hearts...

Wonderful to see and hear again. Newer is not always better. Love to see the likes of Marquez out on a GP250, all skill and no electronic help.
Oh the more than one lap of non-edited two stroke goodness made my day. What an amazing bike. Great video
