  • what do the businesses that sell kit/turnkey flying vw engines do with the hoover/hvx mods? i selected 3 of the bigger businesses and investigated them for a month or so of light reading. here are my findings.
hummel bonus info! turns out hummel engines (scott casler) doesn't mod either.

Thanks. I’m researching an engine for a possible future plane.

thanks for watching. i think revmaster is the gold standard of the flying vw. if you encounter someone saying berg or hoover, be polite and walk away.

Years ago Gene Berg sold a dipstick with a sensor that connected to the oil light so when your oil got too hot it made the oil light blink Red. It worked great and it was less than $10!!

@@MartinSage i'm not saying you can't buy a few nice items from berg. i run equalizer pulleys on my engines. what i'm saying is that the logic that these guys use for justifying their "engineering" is inevitably flawed. they were high school graduates. it's obvious while reading their musings that they lack math comprehension. without the ability to perform higher math, the understanding of the actual physics remains lost to them. since they didn't do the math, they made stuff up with the knowledge that we are too ignorant to know that they were blowing smoke up our butts.

without a doubt they introduce a failure mechanism that isn't in the stock system. blows my mind that aerovee includes these things in their flying vw engine kits.
