Idk why the line "you keep on turning pages for people who don't care about you" hurts me so much, but here we are AND "Everyone's gone on without you" WHEN ALMOST EVERYONE ACTUALLY VOTES FOR HIM LIKE HOLY SHIT THAT BROKE ME Well, it also broke me when in the execution even when he was serious he was crying, and seeing how a thing that he cherished was used to literally kill him. Like imagine not having any memory of what you supposedly did and you just have to rely on other's opinions to believe it. Like he literally used him, and more than him, he used his Alter Ego, played with his emotions, And made him not see another way to find a solution but to kill someone, and he has to pay the price of it! Actually, the whole video broke me. This chapter for me felt like a horrible personal flashback around how a toxic friendship can turn against you when you don't even know it. HECK, even the execution felt like it, pinching you little by little, then stabbing you, and then it just keeps hurting you, even when it passes like... I know I'm reaching, but it makes sense in my head. Everyone being either upset or crying, even Maki showing some tears... I talked way too much but I just wanna say now: you did an amazing job at portraying the emotion of everyone during the chapter, and probably how the player felt even. I agree to an extent but I think the reason everyones specifically saying Gonta deserved better was because he was probably the most selfless of the bunch (excluding Kaede who also did it to free everyone, but even then Gonta has always been really kind and tried to act like a gentlemen. Kaede killed to set everyone free while Gonta killed for the opposite, but both meant well and did it for everyone else compared to alot of the other blackends and I think its a cool way to see it) and just knowing he didnt even remember killing her made it more sad. Idk thats my reasoning anyways, it was the only execution out of 2 in the entire series that made me tear up.

Let me say this rn I love kokichi but I can't ignore that he chose some horrible choices and I can't ignore that he was a selfish little brat, and yet he is my most favorite character in the entire danganronpa series. He is also the most well written and deep character. In my opinion he is the most and least human of all the cast. He made horrible choices and yet for a good reason. I chose to forgive him about gonta and I chose to believe his last words, but others won't and that's what's really entertaining about his character. Others may believe and others won't. Others may hate him and others won't. That's what makes a fictional character good. It's when people keep talking and debating about them. Up until now it can never be proven whether kokichi was lying at some points or not and that's why I love him. He is a character that's worth analyzing. He is not a villain but he is an antihero.
I love Gonta. He deserves everything and this animatic is amazing, color and all, and even though this was heartbreaking to watch, I love it. Thank you
Uh theory thing (spoilers) In the neo world program you can see kokichi trying to hate Gonta because he saw what happened to Kaede (her execution, probably the most brutal one I know cause it lasted 8 hours). He didn’t want to die so he could “end the killing game” by falsely revealing he’s the mastermind, triggering the thought “oh the killing game is done, I’m the mastermind so no more killing.” If miu were to kill him, his death would be meaningless, hence continuing the killing game to a further extent. So basically, at the end of the trial when Gonta was to be executed, you clearly see Gonta to be forgiving towards kokichi, but kokichi didn’t want to show any forms of sadness cause as mentioned before, Kaede. Monokuma probably noticed this and still have Gonta a gruesome execution, but a bit shorter than Kaede’s. So I’d say the fault would’ve been Miu for literally starting this in the first place-

DING DING DING you guessed it! gonta gokuhara. kokichi probably knew gonta would want to save everyone from the hell they might endure if they escape, so he WILLINGLY accepted kokichi's request to kill miu and have everyone die a peaceful death. it has been shown in many scenes that kokichi did not want to die and wanted to survive with everyone else, though some sacrifices had to be made. just because kokichi did bad things, doesn't mean he meant any harm. he mightve said he was faking everything about gonta's execution and how he cried, but some part of it was of course true. and not to mention he saw his own motive video and had to watch his only friends and family die, ergo saw that the outside world is destroyed ergo, he couldn't have told anyone because no one actually trusted him. so in his plans, he showed the secret of the outside world to gonta, hoping he would cooperate and decided "hey, while we're at it lets just kill miu lmao" what he did was in no way the right thing to do. but what else could he do? let miu kill him? nuh-uh, no way jose. if gonta was innocent then so is ouma. (sorry for my long comment I just got mad whenever people said kokichi was an evil sociopath that has no empathy for gonta or anyone.) edit: OH I ALMOST FORGOT! did you all forget all the good things that kokichi actually HAS done for the group? let's start off with the fact that before miu died, kokichi asked her to make electrobombs and electrohammers, and the bugvac too. the 3 things that SAVED everybody. oh and also kokichi helped himiko express herself in his own weird way, he told her to stop faking her emotions and to just tell the truth. that moved my heart so much I wanted to cry- OH AND ALSOOO kokichi sacrificed himself! if yall forgot, kokichi planned to get kaito to kill him so that everyone could go outside. "if monokuma can't find out who the victim is and who the culprit is, then monokuma has no right to kill anyone! right??" so he willingly made that "final lie" with kaito and even kaito said it was a pretty good plan. *until kaito jumped out of the exisal yadayada,* ANYWAYS I think at the end of the fourth trial I think, kokichi also cleared miu's name by saying she was pushed off the edge by her fear of betrayal, and that she was so scared that she just had to kill someone and get out. is she innocent by doing that? N O. gonta wanted to volunteer to kill miu and basically kill everyone so that they can live a peaceful afterlife. does that make gonta wayy more innocent than ouma? NOPE! he didn't get brainwashed, nada. he made the choice by himself and he could've declined easily if he wasn't so trusting towards kokichi. but he just accepted it because deep down he actually knew it was a good plan since the outside world was all destroyed and that there's no family or friends there that they can meet. so, if gonta and miu were innocent, please just agree that kokichi was partly innocent too. if gonta and miu weren't innocent then sure, you can call kokichi not innocent too. but don't just shift all the blame to kokichi, like- 😭
Omg I couldn't have said this better myself. Kokichi is my favorite character. Ofc I'm not asking people to ignore what he has done cause he did do bad things but still it doesn't make his character bad. It makes his character BETTER. Since people are divided about him it honestly what makes his character worth analyzing and once you fall deep you start to understand him more. I enjoyed everything about his character. He was so entertaining. Even if he does bad things it doesn't make him bad at all cause he did them for good reasons with good intentions.

I love kokichi but I can't ignore that he chose some horrible choices and I can't ignore that he was a selfish little brat, and yet he is my most favorite character in the entire danganronpa series. He is also the most well written and deep character. In my opinion he is the most and least human of all the cast. He made horrible choices and yet for a good reason. I chose to forgive him about gonta and I chose to believe his last words, but others won't and that's what's really entertaining about his character. Others may believe and others won't. Others may hate him and others won't. That's what makes a fictional character good. It's when people keep talking and debating about them. Up until now it can never be proven whether kokichi was lying at some points or not and that's why I love him. He is a character that's worth analyzing. He is not a villain but he is an antihero.
I love Gonta. He deserves everything and this animatic is amazing, color and all, and even though this was heartbreaking to watch, I love it. Thank you

It takes a lot for something to make me cry over a video/anime and here I am actually shedding tears
Uh theory thing (spoilers)
In the neo world program you can see kokichi trying to hate Gonta because he saw what happened to Kaede (her execution, probably the most brutal one I know cause it lasted 8 hours).
He didn’t want to die so he could “end the killing game” by falsely revealing he’s the mastermind, triggering the thought “oh the killing game is done, I’m the mastermind so no more killing.”
If miu were to kill him, his death would be meaningless, hence continuing the killing game to a further extent.
So basically, at the end of the trial when Gonta was to be executed, you clearly see Gonta to be forgiving towards kokichi, but kokichi didn’t want to show any forms of sadness cause as mentioned before, Kaede. Monokuma probably noticed this and still have Gonta a gruesome execution, but a bit shorter than Kaede’s.
So I’d say the fault would’ve been Miu for literally starting this in the first place-

I have been watching this for 1 hour now and I'm crying
OK UM, to everyone in the comment section right now saying "ugh, kokichi is such a bad character. he just killed miu cause it was FUN and gonta was not at fault AT ALLLLL" ahem ahem, here to clear his name for one, kokichi saw the secret of the outside world first. and he knew about miu's plan. nobody trusted him, except?? DING DING DING you guessed it! gonta gokuhara. kokichi probably knew gonta would want to save everyone from the hell they might endure if they escape, so he WILLINGLY accepted kokichi's request to kill miu and have everyone die a peaceful death. it has been shown in many scenes that kokichi did not want to die and wanted to survive with everyone else, though some sacrifices had to be made. just because kokichi did bad things, doesn't mean he meant any harm. he mightve said he was faking everything about gonta's execution and how he cried, but some part of it was of course true. and not to mention he saw his own motive video and had to watch his only friends and family die, ergo saw that the outside world is destroyed ergo, he couldn't have told anyone because no one actually trusted him. so in his plans, he showed the secret of the outside world to gonta, hoping he would cooperate and decided "hey, while we're at it lets just kill miu lmao" what he did was in no way the right thing to do. but what else could he do? let miu kill him? nuh-uh, no way jose. if gonta was innocent then so is ouma.
(sorry for my long comment I just got mad whenever people said kokichi was an evil sociopath that has no empathy for gonta or anyone.)
edit: OH I ALMOST FORGOT! did you all forget all the good things that kokichi actually HAS done for the group? let's start off with the fact that before miu died, kokichi asked her to make electrobombs and electrohammers, and the bugvac too. the 3 things that SAVED everybody. oh and also kokichi helped himiko express herself in his own weird way, he told her to stop faking her emotions and to just tell the truth. that moved my heart so much I wanted to cry- OH AND ALSOOO kokichi sacrificed himself! if yall forgot, kokichi planned to get kaito to kill him so that everyone could go outside. "if monokuma can't find out who the victim is and who the culprit is, then monokuma has no right to kill anyone! right??" so he willingly made that "final lie" with kaito and even kaito said it was a pretty good plan. *until kaito jumped out of the exisal yadayada,* ANYWAYS I think at the end of the fourth trial I think, kokichi also cleared miu's name by saying she was pushed off the edge by her fear of betrayal, and that she was so scared that she just had to kill someone and get out. is she innocent by doing that? N O. gonta wanted to volunteer to kill miu and basically kill everyone so that they can live a peaceful afterlife. does that make gonta wayy more innocent than ouma? NOPE! he didn't get brainwashed, nada. he made the choice by himself and he could've declined easily if he wasn't so trusting towards kokichi. but he just accepted it because deep down he actually knew it was a good plan since the outside world was all destroyed and that there's no family or friends there that they can meet. so, if gonta and miu were innocent, please just agree that kokichi was partly innocent too. if gonta and miu weren't innocent then sure, you can call kokichi not innocent too. but don't just shift all the blame to kokichi, like- 😭
Omg I couldn't have said this better myself. Kokichi is my favorite character. Ofc I'm not asking people to ignore what he has done cause he did do bad things but still it doesn't make his character bad. It makes his character BETTER. Since people are divided about him it honestly what makes his character worth analyzing and once you fall deep you start to understand him more. I enjoyed everything about his character. He was so entertaining. Even if he does bad things it doesn't make him bad at all cause he did them for good reasons with good intentions.
