I lived at 196 Blakemore from the late 70's to the early 90's. The Dip was my playground for that whole time, sledging, football, crab apple fights. I bet we knew each other as kids. Great video!
Great Britain is going to be "GREAT"..... Halesfield is a ghost of its former self, no jobs and people in more debt than ever for the car and the house. What a dream.
Just been watching this again. Brookside was a nice place for kids in 70s. How can anyone deny Thatcher selling local authority homes, to private owners, was when ' rot' set in....
I've lived on three different streets in Brookside (Briarwood, Blakemore, and Bridgwood), and always felt like I was living in a prison camp! Especially when you look across the street to the much nicer houses in Stirchley.
I'm surprised I don't remember this Steve Bowers guy, I was around the same area at the dame time, maybe he was a couple of years younger and therefore not in my peer group? Sledging down the dip was something I definitely remember though!
Lived in Bembridge and Burtondale in my house-sharing days in 90s. Brookside now has the worst reputation of the three big estates for asb, drugs and teenage gangs who think they are in the mafia.....

I lived on Bishopsdale 74/75, loved it. Came from Sutton hill which I also remember fondly.👍

Yeah, I worked at Plastic Omnium for 7 years which was once one of the biggest employers in Halesfield...
The Lakeside Tavern, lord, what a dive that was!

I grew up on this estate... on Bembridge. It wasn’t that bad.

Brackenfield...cant fault it 1996-2005.
More people need to see the real Tomlinson.
The houses always looked like prison cells to me. Awful design.
