It’s so refreshing hearing the opinion of someone who can appreciate NFs videos. Everyone else is focused on the music, which is great don’t get me wrong, but they never talk enough about the videos.

Another element of NF's storytelling through his music, a very intricate part that ties everything together, is his beat selection. Every song that he does has an insane beat that evokes some sort of emotion and always matches the theme so perfectly. His entire production team is just insane. Wow. 👏👏👏👏👏

The background to this song. Rolling Stones magazine had a writer after the search album came out. Who completely trashed him saying that chance the rapper should have been number one. This was his response within a week of that article coming out. The levitation in the beginning is from outro. He mentions he wrote the song while he was levitating he always references previous music that hes done. Even the title of the song is a double entandre. Rolling Stones came out with a song called paid your dues. So he came out with the song in response to that article paid my dues. Keep up the great reactions I'm used to hearing people break down his lyrics but you break down his videos and the cinematography it's amazing.

@@itsjonhiller I am in love with storytelling. This motivates me to learn all of Adobe but I love Premiere and After Effects. I decided to go back to school at 60 to learn these skills. Loving every minute of it, not the math, but everything else. Thanks for sharing. Next semester, I have a photography class, do you have any suggestions for a camera for that class that also would be good for video? Let me know if you have any suggestions.

One of my favourite NF songs/videos! I agree When I Grow Up is an amazing one and keep with the NF deep dive! But to throw a curveball, it would be really interesting to see you react to Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box or Foo Fighters - Everlong
so there's a scene in this music video where NF is bench pressing balloons almost effortlessly. those balloons are his burdens, and he's constantly lifting AND carrying them. that's why he has balloons attached to him in that one locker scene before the drop(?)

I think NF may have actually been sitting on that power pole. He used to be an electrician and may have worked to get a safety rig up there as a shout out to the line workers he knows put their lives, literally, on the line every day so we can be blessed with electricity. He does say "killed me twice, rigged the lights" while he is sitting up there (rigged up?) on a lightpost. OR maybe they did it in post ;)

one thing on the story point, is in some of the scenes he has drawn across his face an unemotional grey mouth. at the end he is drawing that into a smile on the paper. just a nice little touch.
