Pokémon Journeys: The Series is the eighth part of the anime series. It features all of the regions from the main-series games, including the Generation VIII games Pokémon Sword and Shield. This series shares its Japanese name with the original series when the anime first premiered in 1997, and is officially labeled with "2019", the year this series started in, for disambiguation. This new series focuses on the two protagonists Ash Ketchum and Goh, along with their partners Pikachu and Cinderace. It also features a young girl named Koharu (Chloe), who has a Yamper, and her father, Professor Sakuragi (Cerise), who runs a laboratory in Vermilion City. It features all the regions that have appeared in the Pokémon games, from Kanto to Galar. Pokémon from each region will also appear while Ash is pursing Leon in the Pokemon World Coronation Series (PWC) and Goh is chasing his dream in Project Mew.
The Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, the newest chapters in the Pokémon series, are coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. I agree that shouldn't have won. Not only is his Journeys Team the worst in terms of development, but the battles that they win don't feel earned like the last Bea fight, Drasna, and Steven Stone.
@@cometcartoons8528 His matches were absolutely earned (not counting Drasna). Yes it's a new team and I wish Ash used old Pokemon, but if you overlook that Ash came up with strategies to win each time. No battle ever had both sides battling perfectly.
@@Scott-ws8yt Scott did you actually watch the battles? From start to end?
Within the game canon (that some of the anime promo content reference) Raihan losing to Ash already negated a lot of the tension, only to follow-up with Ash battling Steven who is supposed to be Wallace’s equal after off-screening him…
My biggest gripe with Ash’s last full series is more about how it comes off more like they’re glazing the top dogs rather than playing off their top status
In the sense that Raihan is at least equal/relative to every other champion other than Leon, and Leon is supposed to be a step ahead of him (piers, melony & gordie too by proxy) with Kabu being someone who was close to becoming Hoenn champion several times in the same world where the serious Elite 4 Member Drake exists.
If Ash is to beat Raihan (we sadly saw him battle leon briefly a few times) instead of fighting off past rivals (like Alain, Tyson, Harrison, Tobias, Ritchie etc. could’ve been opposed to just cameos) and other e4 in the Ultra Class, then the Masters 8 (which could’ve easily been a 16 round bracket) should’ve been the Leon show rather than his Slideshow…
*WARNING: MY BRACKET CHANGES BELOW*
-
*Steven vs Leon* (takes advantage of Wallace’s statement and presents why Leon is a threat and due to type matchups should force out Leon’s strategic side and/or innate adaptability when it comes to controlling the flow of battle)
*Diantha vs Alain* (we last saw Alain around e4 level + it’d be a title match on the race to the true top)
*Iris vs Cynthia* (it can stay although Diantha would invoke old tropes from BW to show Iris’s growth especially with how admirably Cynthia speaks of Diantha, Alain doesn’t pair well with Cynthia nor Iris like Raihan could… AND while Leon vs Cynthia would’ve been cool that barely leaves Ash anyone noteworthy in the anime)
*Ash vs Lance* (while some people would want Iris to battle and likely beat Lance to cement her dragon master status, that’s a bit too final for her at her age unlike Ash’s eternal dream in-universe, plus with Lance being last coronation’s runner-up he’d likely have battled Cynthia or battled whoever beat her/the one to defeat the one who knocked her out… and Iris was SHOOK. If anything when including his win against Raihan gives Ash 3 battles in a row against 2nd Fiddles to Leon and fulfills the same job as Steven since they never battled before too & Orange League trainers were supposed to be somewhat superior to Kanto ones so Lance can bring up many feats done in/near Kanto to hype things up more with his interest in Ash… aka the Battle Frontier and being from Kanto… another title match within a race to the true top)
Realistically the only gimmick that ash needed in the last battle was gigantamax: mega lucario didnt do much, without mega it would have won anyway against mr rime, and the z Move was wasted. Im pretty sure that without gigantamax gengar would have lost to the chad inteleon.
It definitely doesn’t help that Ash did the entire masters 8 with 5 Pokémon that he just caught. I’ve always said this, Ash should have rotated his Pokémon out for the entirety of Journeys.
That is what I thought was going to happen.
It's not even that I don't think he shouldn't have won. It's that the writers didn't make it believable. If he would've brought back like his Greninja, Charizard, Sceptile, Lucario, Pikachu, and Infernape then we could've bought the win instead of saying plot armor. But, they wrote it in a way that was just stupid. He could've brought his Sinnoh team back for his fight against Cynthia. He could've brought back his Hoenn team for Steven. And his utlimate team for Leon like Chariazrd, Greninja, Pikachu, Infernape, Sceptile, and Lucario.
All the writers had to do was make Cinderace miss a Hi Jump Kick to take some major recoil damage in order for us to truly believe it was taken out as easily as it was with Pikachu's G-Max move!
EXACTLY, all they need to do is make Ash's wins MORE believable.
Cinderace isn't the bulkiest Boi so it's not surprising it went down fast
@@eljordinio7647 Usaring isn't the bulkiest Boi so it's not surprising it went down fast
Cinderace IS the bulkiest Boi so its surprising it went down fast
@@Gadget-Walkmen-km5rc in what world is that silly rabbit bulky?!
People wanna compare speed from the games and anime? Did y'all forget how ridiculously fast Roark's Cranidos and Gardenia's Turtwig were in the DP series?!
EXACTLY. YOU KNOW!
I’m gonna argue Cynthia dynamaxing Togekiss was a smarter move than her mega evolving Garchomp, because while mega garchomp is a beast, regular garchomp is no slouch, and look at the typing chart, garchomp is weak to two of ash’s Pokémon, meanwhile Togekiss could honestly deal with four of ash’s Pokémon, and had coverage for poison types like gengar with zen headbut, it makes perfect sense to send Togekiss out with dynamax in this case!
Still, it makes giving your ace a specific power up pointless if you're not going to let them fight in their peak form
Cynthia could have just dynamaxed garchomp against iris and still won
Cynthia should have Dynamaxed Garchomp instead, it gets all its health back and deals bigger damage with the dynamax moves.
The real nerf was her Garchomp inexplicably not knowing any ground type moves 😅
She still would’ve lost to ash even with her mega garchomp
Mega Garchomp is ass.
Its also unfair bc during their battle at the peak of the battle Pikachu colapses yet the ref didnt call the match and was fine when pikachu set off like a bomb.
In that case, Ash loses to Paul as well in Sinnoh.
Yeah, no, this video makes no sense at all. All the battles were great and made perfect sense.
You’re on something
The writing of the fights was so lazy, you're telling me the top 2 trainers in the entire world would be dumb enough to throw by switching out to another mon instead of wearing down mega lucario and pikachu with the aces they had already sent out? And why didn't Cynthia mega evolve? It made absolutely no sense
@@gerardoortega323 there’s a clear answer why she didn’t use mega evolution, togekiss was untouched, pikachu had never hit it, so a full togekiss vs full lucario was Cynthia’s best bet, instead of around a half hp garchomp that’s exhausted
You're either incredibly stupid or just a troll cos some of these battles were the worst of the worst
Leon disrespected both his first two opponents like they were junior battlers and Ash vs Steven had one of the biggest ass pull moments in the masters eight. That's not amazing, that's just straight up garbage 🗑️
@@williammarrero4028 garchomp also got to rest between rounds so Togekiss being fresh doesn't change anything
No point giving your ace a gimmick and not using it. You forget Alain's Charizard took a beating against Pikachu before being tagged out, and it STILL mega evolved before Greninja came in
also gMax pikachu came out with nowhere with no training. i completely agree with this team he shouldn't have won at all.
He won because all his team countered his opponents, and Gmax Pikachu was a throwback to their first battle.
I didn't even mention that but yes very true. All of a sudden Pikachu is solid with GMAX is CRAZY!
@@Scott-ws8yt throwback or not, it's still came out of nowhere with no prior training. any other ability or attack his Pokemon have learned have taken prior training. this one he used once failed and never used again, but then out of nowhere it works now. that doesn't make sense, or add up.
@@saiyan4414 It's a nice callback to their first battle, and Gmax Pikachu isn't the reason Ash beat Leon anyway.
@@Scott-ws8ytIt kinda was since Cinderace was a major threat for the team.
DP anime season really portrayed Cynthia & Garchomp with its strongest moveset of Draco Meteor, Dragon Rush, & Brick Break (which even extended to BW aniem season). Garchomp definitely could've been even more OP in battling in the M8 though if it knew a Ground-type attack. Also I found Stealth Rock to be very unnecessary as it really only would've bothered Dracovish & Sirfetch'd. Lucario probably could've used its Aura to navigate through Stealth Rock (and it's a Steel type so it wouldn't have been bothered by Stealth Rock a lot)
If Ash could only use one gimmick like Leon he never would have won.
He could have if they didn't make Leon look so unstoppable that ash HAD to use three gimmicks
True
Maybe Leon could have used all the gimmicks as well.
@@animedude8712 then Leon would definitely win with no questions
yes he wouldve because the writers wouldve wrote the fight in a different way to where he would still win
My main problem with Ash vs. Leon was the buildup. Leon looked so powerful he made Tobias look like a shriveled weed in comparison. They made it look like a fight that Ash couldn't win.
If you're gonna make a strong character, at LEAST make him look vulnerable.
Everyone does leon dirty the games and anime despite lore wise him being the most powerful champion ever in the games due to swsh being targeted towards more children they nerfed the heck out of what he should’ve been and in the anime they just let ashs plot armor do him dirty again
Good stuff bro!! These are all valid points for sure. I feel for the most part if Ash just had different moves and maybe different strategies, he coulda won more easily. And like you said, same goes for Cynthia in the case of her Garchomp.
Could have given garchomp dig and iron tail in place of scale shot and stealth rock
It's true that the original rule was to have one gimmick, but that's 100% Leon's fault and not Ashes. Leon's wanted ashes to use all his gimmick because Leon was that confident that he could win in the finals.
Ash could end up like Alain and Diantha if Leon just started with rillaboom but I think he could do a little better than both of them and at least beat half of Leon's team that would make things believable.
At least Alain was able to take it out before it really started to become a threat
@@eljordinio7647 Yes.
All Ik is Leon used his top 3 strongest Pokémon against diantha dragapult rillaboom and charzard being all 3 of his powerhouses
@@eljordinio7647 Nope.
If they were going to have Ash use only one gimmick against Leon so it would be more of a fair fight, they shouldn't have screwed up with Leon in the first place by making him crush and disrespect his first two opponents in the M0 Tournament like that
My only gripe with Ash vs Leon was ALWAYS Cinderace getting onetapped. The fact Leon didn't use Max Quake when he was dominating Pikachu earlier with Libero really makes him look foolish as he basically threw the match at that point.
My original prediction was going to be that Pikachu and Charizard tied, but Leon would win due to having Cinderace left. I know Leon losing made for good character growth, just wish it was written better.
Even if he did go for max quake, Pikachu wouldn't have immediately fallen to it. Maybe he would have if Cinderace spammed it three times
Even if he did go for max water Pikachu wpi;d t have immediately fallen to it. Maybe he would have if Cinderace it three times
@@Gadget-Walkmen-km5rc YOU!!!
Hard pill to swallow BUT felt like it should at certain Moments
PLUS I’m still salty about Ash NOT mixing His Teams for This Event
Only 8 of his old Pokemon have actually faced off against someone champion level
Pikachu, Greninja, Infernape (even though he belonged to Paul at the time) and the whole Alola team. Yes kukui isn't the de facto champion of Alola but he was the next best thing before Ash waltzed in and won the league
@@eljordinio7647 actually, i don’t wanna seen like a geek but, if you put it that way, the whole team that fought tobias is champion level because he became champion.. but i would only bring sceptile because he beat darkrai, charizard because of drake? i mean i could sayyyy it would count based on logic that charizard beat articuno from a frontier brain, who is weaker then brandon, ash beat brandon, paul couldn’t beat brandon, ash beat paul with his orginal infernape, so really charizard could have a chance🫡 oh and yes ofc greninja and pikachu, maybe bring krockidile and lycanroc along for the ride tooo
@@n0tlike._.d champion level is facing and defeating a champion of a whole region, not a league winner unless they're someone like Alain or Raihan who's on the same level as regional champions thanks to the masters eight
He didn’t do it during the WCS. Why should he change it up at that point?
With this discussion if the last Pokémon against Leon was Mega Lucario I'd agree as foretold in the opening. But because it was Pikachu it rectified its greatest defeat. Which ironically wasnt against Snivy. (Which was still bad). Ritchie's Charmander.
I agree it really didn’t make sense for them to lose to ash then in the battle with Leon he had 3 gimmicks plus the one extra plus the ash pull of that last attack, beating a fresh cinderace with libero made no sense and it really just seemed like they just wanted to have Leon and Cynthia throw their matches so they can say ash beat them (glad he’s gone imo)
How did you come to that conclusion? Beating Cinderace was the only somewhat lackluster part of the Leon battle as it should have taken damage prior, but otherwise it's not a big deal and shows how strong Pikachu is. Cynthia was done well besides Garchomp not having DIg.
I love Ash but some of those W's make no sense lol
Togekiss survived the Aura Sphere, so I can't even comprehend why you brought that up. Togekiss was taken down by the bullet punches it received in its base form (at the end of the second ep), then the bullet punches to its back, the Aura sphere, and the final punch. The speed is why Lucario missed it.
Ash using 3 gimmicks was approved by Leon, because he wanted to fight him at his strongest. I do agree Cinderace should of taken damage prior so it wasn't OHKO'd in the final ep. And the complaints about Pikachu re-directing the Z-move never made sense to me, we even see Pikachu turn its body in the air to do it. That feels like nitpicking overall. But the Steven fight could have been better or longer otherwise.
This is too much to read but sure lol. It's my opinion and tbh as Pokemon fans we shouldn't let stuff slide just because he's the main characters, ruins the characterization of how Ash is suppose to show growth not be handed victories with numerous amounts of Ash-Pulling. But to each their own, thanks for watching.
@@InfamousTrainer the only real battle in the masters eight that ash definitely didn't earn was against Steven
Cynthia and Leon, he deserved to win
Now that I think about it, I guess you can say Misty also pulled a "Ash-pulled" because she one shot Ashes Corefish after Corefish was beating her pokemon repeatedly without taking any damage.
why think Ash should not be a world champion, can't change the writers minds
That's also true.
That picaku part beating cinderance and chraizard
WAIT WAIT. You forgot that togakiss could have used the psychic max move that would set up psychic terrain and make mega lucario unable to use bullet punch.
it's a flying type so it cannot
@@Scott-ws8yt but if she used it as the 3rd max move the terrain would have lasted through most of the battle with garchomp. But really good point
LMAO this makes the W way worse
@@tomkarate1 pretty sure it will only disable bullet punch if Togekiss wasn't airborne or a flying type
@@tomkarate1 it still wouldn't completely stop bullet punch tho since Garchomp can fly. All it would do is power up psychic type moves which Garchomp doesn't have
I guess steven would make sense. Especially sincr ash never had any interactions with him and i have a theory ash trained pikachu to control the z move
Clearly someone didn't see what was proven in the SM series otherwise....
Maybe so, just seemed random lol
if you mad at ash for using multi gimic pikachu and charzard broke the gmax storm so blame eternatus he gave him more dyamax energy
Very good video!
Dyna Togekiss should've had Baton Pass the speed boosts to Garchomp:-D
THIS, if it was THIS I would believe it for sure!
If cynthia didn't had mega garchomp this whole dynamax controversy wouldn't be a thing tbh.
it's not even a controversy, some people just unless this illusion that Mega Garchomp makes Cynthia stronger, when she chose Togekiss for a reason.
True.
@@Scott-ws8ytBasically. It shows Cynthia believes Dynamax Togekiss would give her the best chance to win instead of Mega Garchomp. If you want to argue otherwise, you're essentially saying Cynthia doesn't understand her pokemon and is an incompetent trainer.
The final battle was completely plot armor
I think the reason cinderace lost to the one gmax move is cause during its short part against Dracovish they had a little colisión of iron head and fishous rend, which could have left both Dracovish and cinderace hit with recoil as we see cinderace look like it got a little hurt when it hits Dracovish with its head
spilled hard
Woah infamous Dropping bombs💣💣 and smacking the desk 🤣. I'll never understand the move writers pulled with Leon's Cinderace not getting touched one time having zero damage and gets defeated by Pikachu's Gmax volt crash makes no sense.
Why does it not make sense? Pikachu's Gmax move is probably very strong and it crashed down into it.
LMAO not the desk
One of the reasons I hated that Ash didn’t bring some of his old Pokémon back for the Masters 8 was the fight with Cynthia. Cynthia obviously should’ve used Mega Garchomp at the end but the honor of beating it should’ve gone to Infernape not Lucario
to me, the worst fight waas the one beetwen ash and Steven Stones (i am biased cause i love Steven) but, you may think the ash-pull here is that the Z move controlled itself, wich it is, but then, pikachu should have been unable to battle before using it, taking a meteor assault and a psychic fom a MEGA metagross and surviving is crazy for a pickachu
G-Max Pikachu winning is a result of the fact that he literally just used a Z-move right before it. It gave him a power boost. ON TOP of the G-Max power boost, Pikachu got pushed to the max in that fight.
Okay.. So i see Ash's ranking being an issue a lot.
I don't think many people looked up how the rankings work in the PWC, more specifically the M8.
The PWC rankings were a bit random and all over, however the M8 were qualifiers. Ash "just so happened" to rank 8th because he was the last one to qualify.
According to the rules on the Pokemon website, once you raise your ranking to 8th you can challenge the rank above you for their rank. If you're 7th - 1st, you can't challenge any ranks below yours. You can only rank up. So once you hit 7th or 6th place, you can sit comfortable unless you want to rank up.
So Ash being 8th, or anyone in the M8 isn't based on strength of feats. It's just based on how quickly they were able to achieve that rank before time ran out. Of which they never put much emphasis on time when it comes to the big tournaments in the anime. Ash and every other contestant just "happens" to get all of the badges/points and make it to the tournament city at the exact moment they need to.
Cause let's be honest, if there was ever an importance based on a tined tournament, the PWC would be it. We wouldn't get so many side adventures in the anime if they actually hunkered down and tried to speed run through the important stuff.
It should go without saying that Ash COULD'VE lost every single Master's 8 match. We're SUPPOSED to assume it was much harder to write situations for him WINNING a single match let alone the whole thing, and that was the challenge, for the writers. We were tired of seeing Ash lose and now that he was Alola Champion and it was time to move on from him, finding ways for Ash to win was the only acceptable path to take. We can nitpick on HOW, as you did, but still.
OOF imagine being upset about a one off video in 2024 about 2022 Journeys.. Enjoy the content & Stay Infamous 🔥
I agree completely but i just think it's part of pokemon being a more kids focused show and some mechanics will naturally change and unfortunately plot armors happen
Hey, at least the Championship didn't allow trainers to use Z-moves, Mega Evolution, and Dynamax all at once, if they did, it would be TOTAL ANNIHILATION, THEIR WOULDN'T BE LEFT OF THE POKEMON BEING ATTACKED.
Leon wanted to face Ash with everything he had and at the end of the day, Leon had the final say-so
Actually the officials in charge of the world coronation series have the final say. They could have easily rejected Leon's suggestion
@@eljordinio7647 do you really think they'd deny the World Champ and real organizer of the WCS a real challenge?
@@MrSonicHedgehog has Leon never heard of a fair fight? He basically shot himself in the foot cos nobody, not even him, can beat three gimmicks with one of his own
Plus the anime staff, as incompetent as they were for most of the masters eight, also shot themselves in the foot either way. If Ash were allowed to use three gimmicks, there's no way out of having him win. If they made him lose despite the clear advantage, then they're just begging for even more backlash and hate from the fandom, and I'd say they would rightfully deserve it. Taking ash this far only to make him fail again would just ruin journeys more than they already chose to do, what with goh being beyond redeemable, the countless filler they put in for no good reason, Chloe being a lost cause, and purposefully ruining the climax for Ash cos of their incompetence and failure to stay on top of their production problems. I don't care what happened, after having two years to get on top of covid and their production issues, there was honestly ZERO excuses to screw up here
@@eljordinio7647 seriously, when you've gotten bored with no one being able to beat your G-Max Charizard and there was someone who could give you a challenge, would you logically want them holding anything back and have another boring one-sided battle?
@@MrSonicHedgehog Leon didn't seem bored or even concerned about what he did to both Alain and Diantha.
He just demolished them like they were junior battlers without even considering them his equals the same way he would Ash, Lance or Raihan. And he's trying to claim that he beat Diantha by luck? Nobody's that lucky.
Even Ash, Lance and Raihan weren't such pushovers
Funny how we all aware about these things but we let it slide, and looking back at it it was dam😂
None of these are issues, the complaints we had like Garchomp not having a ground move or Cinderace being OHKO'd were brought up when the ep airs. His complaints about Togekiss don't matter.
No one wanted to talk about it, but its cool. Just interesting I guess.
Well he used mega, z move and dynamax against Leon who only used dynamax, not surprised if he did😂
ok, hear me out, i love this channel, and i was wondering, could you make an evololution of honchcrow, but make it like a gothic baraoness, with a long flowing black gown with intricate victorian designs, and just make it like royalty, honchcrow is my fav and ive always wanted to see it happen, i think ive come up with a name, Victonchcrow, please look at this, it means the world to me
U got a valid point pt mpy t in terms of some instances where Ash should have lost, but making him lose before or even against Leon after everything Ash went through to get there would only cause more backlash. People had already had enough of Ash dod mpt constantly failing where it matters (just look at the fury they caused with the Kalos League) and with how Journeys was already screwing up during the masters eight, it would just ruin things more
While the win against Steven was not questionable, he earned his wins over Cynthia and Leon. Yes, even with three gimmicks cos the officials basically approved it
YOU!! INSOLENT SWINE!!! YOU NEVER SEEM TO LEARN ANYTHING!!! YOU'RE NOTHING MORE THAN SOME HOPELESS CASE!!!

If that weird enough for you, dont forget that during SM final match where ash lyncanoc defeat gladion lyncanoc by countering the counter with counter, and gladion lyncanoc use counter before getting attacked first
If pokemon SM/USUM have champion at the start instead of us the player, ash wont became alola champion
But ash was using his full power. Kids are talented to.
the Pokémon franchise always been all about changing the protagonist
To be fair, he didn't cheat... leon used mega and dynamax in the same fight. Asked used 2 z moves.
The writers backed themselves into a wall by doing that and had to use enternatus as an out. The original plan had no need or writing for the mon to even appear. They used it to reset the fight just like in the game. 😂😂😂😂
When will new neous content come
This was a good video but can we just let Ash have this win he is no longer in the anime so we should stop underdeniming his Victory and let him have Piece and I do think their could’ve been a better way for him to have one like Uses GMax Gengar to beat Mega MetaGross as they were over using Pikachu’s Z move in the masters 8 Mega Lucario to beat Mega Garchomp or beat GMax Togekiss by having Lucario learn boneRush or an Electic Type move like Thunder punch and beat GMax Charizard with 10000 volt Thundebolt or GMax Pikachu.
Yeah. I was sceptical of ash using three gimmicks against Leon too but he won, and that's what counts
@@eljordinio7647 MAH. I was skeptical of Ash using three gimmicks against Leon too but he won, and that's what counts or not.
The anime had basically crossed all limits of stupidity in the Journeys series it was nothing but pure fanservice which is exactly how low the standards of anipoke fans are. Logic is like the biggest enemy of anipoke fans for some reason its like when they watch the Ash Ketchum show they totally shut off their brains that's why mainline gamers didn't use to care about the anime or its fans.
Fortunately Ash has retired now so RIP to all the BS we witnessed earlier. Horizons is saving the Pokemon anime for good now and getting us some much needed standards when it comes to anime quality. For the very first time we have a good story, a combination of young & adult main protagonists and an actual evil team. Kudos to TPCI for making this much needed bold move now the future of the anime is finally bright.
So basically you don't know what you're talking about? Aside from some minor nitpicks, Ash won everything fair and square.
@@Scott-ws8yt Lol you happen to be one of those Ash Ketchum worshippers I was talking about cuz you are so deluded that you don't even realise when stuff gets illogical 😂

Ash is still 10 years old he is already immortal who knows what other ability he hides I doubt that he is even a human maybe he will defeat arcues too one day with his pikachu or butterfree 😅
Well you gotten me fooled. I thought that this video had Ash really cheated by having his Pokemon do something that was against the rules, or also done something illegal but it was only opinions of plot armor. LIEEEEE!
Ash vs Cynthia Mega Garchomp I think would change nothing, however they Pokemon Anime Writers MISSED OUT on Togekiss Max Airstream Baton Passing into Garchomp!!! With its HIGH ATK & SPD on Top of getting even more Speed It'd be a TRUE Test for Ash. It'd be even more POWERFUL!!!
I don’t think that the championship had to be a tournament. I think Ash should’ve been able to fight each of the ranked trainers, like the elite four in the games. It would have prevented us from missing matchups like Ash vs Alain and Ash vs Lance, basically force Ash to use his reserves because 7 consecutive battles with the Journeys team would’ve been stale, and really let Ash shine.
How would that have made sense though? They’re all competing for the #1 spot so having ash fight them all wouldn’t have worked for a competition like this.
@@marktaylor648 exactly. They're all aiming to be number 1 so a tournament is the best way to handle it
U didn't answer the question
If that happened, he won't have left the Anime and move on directly to Paldea.
TRUEEEEEE! Horizons is good but Ash would be thriving right now!
I still dont understand how lucario beat togekiss
Same 😑😑
If Ash really want to win he can just use his own Pokémon and bring back greninja, charizard and the rest. He can even bring back his legendary lion.. yes I know he shouldn’t have won that match but if he bring back old Pokémon he would win it clean
What else is new...he cheated to even be a champion in the first place.
Get his dragonite, evolve his larvitar, grab his Charizard which has been training on Charizard for fifty years, use his Pikachu which is most definitely super powered ever since taking down an onyx, greninja, and he can use pidgeot since the dude became the alpha of a fleet after a couple episodes. Ash has op pokemon he can use, if anything he would have wrecked through every single region, taking down everything in sight like megaman x. They choose to de power him, not the other way around. When they came out with Cynthia and had her be unbeatable I was pissed.
I believe they could no longer control ashes power level. If he had used his full power it would only take Charizard. And yes, Charizard training on Charizard mountain with chars two times bigger than him would let him play with Leon's Charizard. Ashes Charizard is doing the equivalent of hyperbolic training for like 20+ seasons.
Instant "like" for your reasonings! I agree that Ash won all of his battles due to plot-armor! Glad to see another person agrees!
I knew you were gonna bring up misty at some point in the video. And yes,yes she is the new world champion cause ash *LOST* as soon as he became world champion!

He should of lost to Leon. Makes 0 sense that he was able to use mega, dyno, and z moves
Disagree ash worked hard for his victory over the years
So using a NEW TEAM aside from his longer served and veteran Pokémon to take on Champion Level trainers and beating them ALL with extremely plot heavy adjustments. Yep hardwork at its finest. Though I get it, everyone has different opinions.
Then where are those hard workers? Cause they are not on the team. The JN team is literally a bunch of last minute silver spoons that given to Ash just so he can win an overrated tournament, which later drop in value cause he lost to Misty anyway 😂 If we go by your logic, that’s mean Misty worked even harder than Ash over the years. Where’s her trophy?

@@Stevenstonehoennregionchamp oh wow u so kind for help making my point even clearer for me :))) the op wanted to highlight Ash’s hard works OVER THE YEARS, so I was trying to POINT OUT that his works over those years meant NOTHING as long as you can slap those last minutes brain-fart of a JN’s team on him. As soon as you take them away, Misty can deck him right off the pedestal so, that’s my point :)) they made Ash looks like “the champion of nothing with out JN mons”, and that’s just sad.
All jokes aside, I just want Ash to win against Leon by the same mons I’ve seen with him over the years. Not the lame excuse that is the JN’s team that I have no emotional connection to.
and could he got dragonite and lucario and gengar sooner and even not maybe train a little batter it would make a understanding for some of his bazar tricky stunts if he does as to why they work with only his pokemon taking some thoes times just saying
you should know ash bazar victory styles and the pokemon did look like they did take damage many wanted ash to end up winning the few things that should have improved is one ash growing older in his teens and two being smarter along with kindness with pokemon and maybe not as thic and three could he evolve more of his pokemon as well as cheche more to mature him way more while keeping the pokemon spirit of things alive love pokemon love ash but make improvements a little more am i right thats all
Ash would win if he had more than 2 braincells
Well the mega lucario didn’t really make a difference so maybe not mega evolution and maybe not gigantimax cause if the opposing is dynamax and you didn’t in the anime you can move around and other then charizards G max move no other D/G move can change the direction where the Pokémon moves so pikachu could dodge the move and enough could waste dynamax then they could be equal then pikachu ez takes the win with its extremely hard skull so he could win Any corrections are fine

@@Scott-ws8ytif that's your opinion ok, but Ash being able to use multiple gimmicks against Leon was basically showing he's incapable of beating Leon in a fair/even battle
@@dopeclassic3346 Leon requested Ash to use all the gimmicks, and 2 of them did not even help Ash that much. I don't see what the issue is, it shows how strong Leon is and Ash was allowed to go all out against him.
@@dopeclassic3346 Because to Leon it was fair, he wanted Ash to go all out. Two of the gimmicks (Z move and Mega evo), didn't even help Ash that much anyway. Lucario barely performed any different than usual.
My fanfic thoughts- because of complaints about losing in Kalos and being unable to battle when put to sleep in Kanto, and Leon being too perfect..... Someone was paying masters' level trainers to throw certain battles. We aren't going to have 7 different tournaments, but.... Fire Jameson, Freezer Jesseth, and Thunder Meowth were sports commentators for Alola TV about the various tournaments, a bit like the post game, but for almost every region. Ash was invited to battle in Sinnoh and Kalos because of how well he did in both of them, along with Galar because of Ash getting all of the badges (a bit like SV's post game?) We see moments of varous favorite trainers, along with just the most important matches to Ash.
-Sinnoh semifinals against Cynthia- sorry, she's still the champ. He uses his Kanto-Sinnoh catches.
-Kalos finals against Diantha- sorry, she's still the champ. He uses his Unova-Alola catches.
-Galar is going to be messed up. Iris also earned the badges, no longer filling in for Drayden at the gym, and visiting her (according to Masters) cousins Leon and Hop. Ash saves Bede from himself/ I mean, his mega Mawile who is reacting worse than Korrina's mega Lucario the first time. Ash gets disqualified for 'battling outside of the stadium, with putting the crowd in danger'. Of course, he finds out about this when he and Leon are stepping onto the field for their match in the second round, and the next round matchups are being announced. Leon v Iris. Iris is torn, but Dragonite knows what to do. Leon hadn't treated Iris as being a worthy training partner, so he walks out of the locker room before their match. Iris follows. (BTW, Ash's team is all of his post Alola catches. So anything from going back home, Hisui arc, Larvitar finding him to officially join the team.) Still controversial, I know. But my theme is more "does winning everything really make you the best?"
-Oh, and yes, Team Rocket talks about Iris defeating Alder in their reporting. We also see Brock (still eligible) and Misty compete in Kanto.
Lance and Steven were battled in training moments during the regular season, as if Ash ran into Barry or Sawyer again. I guess my version of saying good bye to Ash and his team/ journey is revisiting the people and teams, not the places.
Wait Iris, Leon and Hop r related?
@@eljordinio7647 I heard that in Masters, they are.
I’ve sent you comments before telling you Leon and Iris are related and yes the information was revealed to us in the Pokémon masters EX mobile game. Iris said something like in the mobile game “Leon and I are related and he’s my cousin Galar.”
It would have been insane if the Journeys (main) anime adopted this information into its series. Seeing how the last Regional champion Leon from Galar was introduced to us. Leon definitely has connections to the Unova region him being Iris’s Cousin and the two Unova Pokémon he owns Seismitoad and Haxorous.
@@Justin-pl3qx if only this was confirmed in the anime cos that would make ash's win over Leon even more impactful. It'd also make iris's place in the masters eight more meaningful considering she would want to surpass her own cousin

Still crazy how if Iris had Psychium-Z she would've defeated Cynthia, granted, Excadrill did land a OHKO.
These matches are extremely anticlimatic. It feels like one party is buffed while the other is nerfed to be equals.
Pikachu should've used Electrowebs on the floor, everytime Metagross dodged Ash would cover the field.
Use Thunderbolt to smack it down and with the Z-Move you make a Faraday Cage that shuts down the Mega.
Very sad how the Shalour Venue in Normal Class had environmental battlefield but Wyndon Stadium did not.
When Sirfetch'd made Garchomp kneel it felt like the nightmarish monster could finally bleed. Unprecedented feat.
Togekiss had Zen Headbutt. It could've used Max Mindstorm once to nullify the priority of Lucario's Bullet Punch.
Follow that with a Baton Pass after 2 Max Airstreams and Garchomp becomes a super fast beast, untouchable even.
Garchomp VS Paul's Chimchar had Dig, and had Flamethrower VS Palmer in Movie 12. Mimey could've swept JN Cynthia.
Then again, this whole tournament is artificial tension. Only Ash is using new mons, everyone is using all-star veterans.
Imagine Steven with Alolan Sandslash. It would be cool if Cynthia had Eelektross (or even Kommo-o to battle Lucario).
Heck, Freeze-Dry Glaceon would definitely OHKO both Dragonite and Dracovish, but I digress. Amazing video as always.
Togekiss is part flying, how many times do you need to be told Max Mindstorm would not work? And as far as we know her Togekiss did not have Baton Pass, so there's no reason to bring that up.
