  • The Honda knot is the loop knot most commonly associated with the Cowboy Lasso. It consists of a pair of overhand knots; one holds the loop open, and another secures it. The Honda's most desirable feature is it's tendency to remain open in a nearly circular shape, which allows the stiff natural fiber rope of the lasso to pass through without binding.

To my mind the Honda knot needs far more attention, it is the best adjustable knot I have ever come across. I think it is probable that the rope will break before it slips and it is incredibly easy to tie. The old archers used this knot on their bows. I havn't investigated whether it is difficult to untie after a heavy load has been applied though.
