You might want to reconsider buying any used golf gti, but if you do, make sure you take it to Mumbo repairs

I would love me some 6/7 GOLF GTI
Please do not get the golf 6 gti unless it is a manual....the mechatronic and dsg clutch are very problematic on that car, and you will pay dearly.

The Golf VR6 is the best variant of the golf but I would like to see you rank them with everything considered whether it be styling, engine, ability to tune, etc.
They should have put a gearbox repair quote when the vrrr-pha stops working
the one we've been waiting for.
Not just rattling of the sunroof but the leakage of the VAG group sunroofs are noticeably bad. I know many people who've bought their car in summer and had leaks in winter. Make sure the drainage works guys ❤❤

Golf Mk7 R is my preference in this generation.
The MK5 GTi advantage right now is the availability of diagnosis information and affordability of maintenance on a manual derivative.

A couple years ago I could have bought a Golf GTI for a lot cheaper than my new Polo GTI but after seeing the second hand market, missed services and poorly kept cars I just knew the maintenance costs were going to be through the roof. It didn’t make sense.

I love the GTI clubsport somehow not interested in the normal gti as for me it doesn't deliver that punch, but also an tuned Golfs if it's done well I don't see a problem particularly a stage 1 tune with a downpipe and intake

I was quoted R12k for an OEM Water Pump, got for around R6k at Goldwagen.
As far as I know, the Golf 7 GTI doesn't have a timing belt but a timing chain..?
Waterpump you say, I got quoted R11.4k for an oem wheel bearing, just one🤦🏾♂️ and another R2k for labour. I asked them why so expensive and they said my car was no longer in production since 2018.

I have one of these but the manual overseas. It’s lekker but definitely pricey with maintenance. I have come across suspension and mount issues. Haven’t had any pumps fail

You can get a very good mk7.5 for just under half a mill. These days a brand new 3 pot 77Kw Polo costs as much and people buy them like gwinyas😂

That being said. Proud owner of an 7.5 R line. I really wanted to own one the last affordable Golfs. Still need to take it for its service but it's the most beautiful car in my opinion.
It is a good car in terms of looks. Yes this is like redriven, just applied that format to our popular cars in SA. While not inspiring, it's informative and because I look for info from videos like this and not inspiration, I think it's great.
