I haven't yet seen the Nicholas Cage "Gone In 60 Seconds" but have seen the 1974 film of the same name. It's crazy how many car stunts and crashes the original has. Another great car film is Vanishing Point from 1971.
I need to go back and watch the original! I've never seen it. Haven't seen Vanishing Point either... but I'm putting it on my list. The Nick Cage film is admittedly a pretty cheesy action flick, but it goes big and delivers on the fun, and I love it.
Yes, Hard Target,Die Hard 1&3,Point Break & the Rock for sure:D I Like the idea of a top ten pure action films with no scifi an such! That would probably exclude Heat on my list because it's so much more than a "dumb" action movie. I would probably ad Stone Cold, Con Air, Air Force One, Cliffhanger, Long Kiss Goodnight and Goldeneye on my list. I feel bad not having a Schwarzenegger movie on the list but most of his best movies have scifi in them!

Yeah I was a little concerned it might be too repetitive, which is part of why I excluded the sci-fi element (that would've REALLY been predictable then LMAO!). I'm gonna have to get a little more creative with my lists and see if I can mix it up a bit more.😉
Nice list. Glad to see National Treasure and the Equalizer films. I would include The Expendables 3 and The Accountant. When you do the action flicks with sci-fi, don't forget Timecop.

Yes! Precinct 13 is a killer movie! I actually included that one in my underrated films video I made a couple weeks back (this one: ruclips.net/video/sYqGstYGcGs/видео.html&t). Great list as always my friend, I’m glad First Blood was so high as it’s one of my favorites also but Die Hard had to be 1 it’s just such a special film in the action Genre.

Yeah that's just the nature of this channel (nostalgia, Gen X perspective)... 70s-90s action, sci-fi and horror films. So most of the lists I do are within those parameters. I usually place more contemporary films in the honorable mentions section for that reason, but that's not an indication of their worth relative to my top 10. Honorable mentions are a little different for me than they are for others. If something gets an honorable mention from me, that's actually really high praise for the title. As for Indiana Jones... just never been that big of a fan outside of the original Raiders (which I saw in the theater when first released)... at least, not compared to other franchises/IPs. Smokey and The Bandit is great Love Sally in that. Holding out for Point Break 4k, Enemy Of The Sate is an underrated 90s classic. The 1st Die Hard is amazing but With a Vengeance is my favorite. Great list Twister is one of my Wife's favorites somehow its a miss for me.

I've heard that there are/were some issues with the rights for Point Break... like it's not clear who actually owns the rights or something. Can't remember exactly what the problem was, but apparently there's some confusion/complications re: the Point Break rights. But I sure would love to see Vinegar Syndrome give that one a nice VSU box.... It would make a perfect companion piece to the Road House set.

I was in high school when First Blood premiered. I went to see it 3 times. Sly is one of those actors that you either love or hate. I'm guessing that the Rocky movies stereotyped him; 'yo' & 'Adrian' seemed to always follow him. The Rambo movies pretty much had the same effect. I seriously doubt though, that Stallone viewed this as something negative. Those two franchises made him one of the most successful actors ever.
Yeah Sly rules. I've always loved his work -- even some of the movies that some people think are duds. But I always return to First Blood as my first big introduction to Stallone and still one of my favorite films (I was less into Rocky than Rambo).

According to my collection statistics, it accounts for 10.9% of my collection (42 genres, 3113 movies) So no Sci-fi and no what you already mention. I am surprised you didn't mention some of these. This was tough but here are my top 10. As you will see I like comedy mixed in my action movies. Lethal Weapon (all 4 should be considered 1 movie but I will go with the 1st) Beverly Hills Cop (1st one, 2nd is excellent, 3rd not so much) 48 hrs (I enjoy the second one but not a top 10 qualifier) Commando (quintessential Arnold action flick) Bad Boys (I enjoy the other two but not top 10, also I was a teenager working at the theater and this movie was used for testing new sound system and we had a special employee only midnight screening. nostalgia may be a factor) Kingsman (the first one. that church fight scene was so brutal it alone gets it on a list) The Hitman's Bodyguard ( I just cracked up in this movie. That scene with Ryan going off on MF this and MF that with absolute chaos going on behind had me belly aching crying laughing the first time I saw) Nobody (was a complete surprise to me and that whole Home Alone esque climax was great fun) The Long Kiss Goodnight (great action, great villain, great cast) The Transporter (the driving scenes, fight action set to the music, just a great ride)
Great list! I own almost all of the titles you mentioned (although I still need to pick up the last two on your list). In fact, just watched Commando the other night. That's a fun one.
The Long Kiss Goodnight is a great underrated action film. Samuel L. Jackson has said this is one of his favorite roles. And of course Geena Davis is a hottie! Both versions of her!

Perfect video to do as we all await the release of Expendables 4. The 90's delivered the best action stars and action movies will never be the same.
