    This probably explains why I hated exploring Inazuma so much, it never felt... satisfying the same way Liyue and Mondstadt did? I guess? That and the rushed writing of the archon quest... least favorite region despite my otherwise love of Japanese inspiration. (And I LIKE exploring Dragonspine!)

    unironically i like inazumas design cpz it fits the lore of the place pretty perfectly. the place is really just hostiles to outsiders and it's not supposed to be a good experience and it shows. the people dont like outsiders so there is little to no help there to be had there except for 2 places kamisato clan and sangonomia. but even they are limited because you are fighting a god.
    and 2 of the islands are just fuked as hell and for good reasons 2 gods were literally killed there and we know god killing never leads to good outcome.
    if anything the only part that dropped the ball was story part if they made the story better it would have been fantastic but the overall story of inazuma is very 6/10. only like the last 20 min of the story was actually good other were just there

    Interesting video. I'm a little surprised you didn't go into how Ei has destroyed most of the islands and how this also feeds into how hostile the land feels. She's had a major fight on most of the islands that's made it uninhabitable outside of the starting island and Inazuma City itself. The one island she hasn't affected is Kokomi's home which feels more like an independent contractor working with a company instead of another employee.

      I can think of only yashiori island and tusrumi island which were destroyed by war, also kokomi's god was the reason yashiori island was destroyed, tusrumi island was destroyed by fatui , Thunderbird destroyed 2 islands.

    Inazuma is my favourite region followed by the desert in Sumeru. Liyue was extremly annoying in contrast, Inazuma at least had electro stuff to climb, Liyue was a big pain. And coming to "hostile", nothing beats the first time you enter Dragonspine and then see the cold meter rise.

    I gave up my 50 AR account because of how insanely hard the game became to play and I remember distinctly that it was a multiple days quest in Inazuma that broke me. Exploring is fun but not when you have to bust your brains out to figure out what to do next to complete a quest.

    i love inazuma's flavor and environmental design and all that, as i hate the environmental mechanics inazuma added. dont get me started with the the tatarasuna world quest which was locked on a multiday cycle like real days.

    I can't overstate my joy when Sumeru turned out to be a nice kind of forest. After Inazuma I half-expected it to be a strangling, overly dangerous jungle.
    Inazuma was pure depression for me. The only nation I actively avoided being in. The Chasm was a relief compared to that spirit of oppression. It's in the music, too. Those hopeless, droning flutes, argh. Hoyo did really well with the design, it's just that they designed a perfectly unpleasant place to be.
    That said, I think for me it was the shogunate and its stranglehold on all things independent. Watatsumi, Enka, Seirai and Tsurumi were not nearly as bad as the first 3 islands.

    • @ItsJustT
      @ItsJustT  9 месяцев назад +1

      agreed. I'm nostalgic for Inazuma in its own right as I was younger then when it was new as I started the game in 2.1 or 2.2, but I do still find it depressing regardless. I have to say the Chasm makes me feel depressed aswell though, but the abyss part has a beautiful ost

    God, I hate inazuma so much. I can't even enjoy the aesthetics because if I stop for 5 seconds I'LL BE KILLED BY LIGHTNING. I legitimately didn't do most of Inazuma's quests until I had nothing else to do, because it sucked to play in. Also, the story sucks. I like a lot of the characters, but god the plot is not the reason. Also, the music is really good... until you finish the story and are left with the same tense, melancholic soundtrack over a now peaceful nation

    • @ItsJustT
      @ItsJustT  10 месяцев назад +2

      I gotta agree with the last few comments. Though, I enjoy the difficulty to an extent. Inazuma to me is like a DLC amongst main content as it has the least mandatory quests (unless you wanna count the story ones) and is physically seperated from the other nations, alongside being uniquely difficult
