- In this video, we will use the Helix and Spiral function in Solidworks and explore almost everything in this function.
As an example, we will create
- Basic Helix (spring)
- Helix with variable pitch
- Conical Helix
- Spiral
- Spherical Helix
You can explore again by yourself, but I have introduced all clues of creating Helix and Spiral using its function on Solidworks.

Clue of Creating the Spherical helix. Create a circle sketch with the largest diameter you choose/Create a line with the length of your starting diameter from the bottom of the circle and touch the circumferences of the circle/Linear pattern with a distance = pitch/ You will get the diameters per pitch.

is it possible to make a concentric spiral coil
What do you mean by concentric spiral coil?
In Solidworks you can create a spiral. It is the 4th example in this tutorial
is it possible to make a draft over an arc shaped extrude (sweep boss) or is it only possible on linear extrudes?
Good question.
I have searched also a way to do that this week as I need it in my design. But I think it is only a linear one.
The way you can use the draft (2 different profiles) is using loft with guide curves.

I used a bad microphone and it's very noisy. I am still very bad at audio mastering and everything about it. But don't worry, the audio will be improved.
