Kim is one of the greatest harp players alive. This band was absolute magic together. And a great bunch of guys. Fun to hang with. This combination of players was the TBirds. No other. Love you, guys!
Fran once cleaned the passenger-side floor of my car out for me by kicking all the trash out into the parking lot. Can't agree with you though, about this lineup being the definitive lineup; what about Keith? (Peculiar fellow, Keith. LOVED talking Fender and his house reeked of feet.)
Living in Austin from 68-89, got to see the Thunderbirds form and become one of the best blues bands of all time. One night at Antone's, Muddy Waters told a bunch of us--"well, I used to wonder what would happen to the blues after I was gone. I listen to Jimmie and I don't worry no mo.' " Kim and Jimmie were magic together.
Was there in the 70s, it was awesome, T-Birds as the house band backing up touring guys like Jon Lee Hooker. Antone's on 6th street, pawn shops and porn stores, not like it is today.
I HAD THE HONOR OF SEEING THEM YEARS AGO IN NEW ORLEANS AND THEY ARE ALL SO NICE , ESPECIALLY KIM WHO GAVE ME HIS AUTOGRAPH . FANTASTIC SHOW . I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS BAND AND IT'S MUSIC !!!!!

The T birds were fun saw them and SRV many times! Auqafest was the last time I saw Stevie and Jimmie together!

Preston was a monster on standup bass. I can’t believe he’s getting that much sound on that last number.

Saw them in NYC at The Bottom Line when they opened for Roomful of Blues. They blew the f&$@in’ roof off!
