- Horizon Forbidden West review/first thoughts is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, it features an open world in a post-apocalyptic western United States. Players must travel and complete missions with survival skills and both melee and long-distance weapons in a world overrun by hostile machines creatures, other survivors and a deadly plague.
Horizon Forbidden West is set to release on February 18, 2022.

The original game is absolutely phenomenal beyond words. The Sci-Fi story behind it all is absolutely stunning

As an OG ps4 owner who pushed this console to the brink over the years, the fact that this game is so well optimized and smooth for me blows my mind. Especially after feeling like an idiot for buying cyperpunk
Ugh I cannot WAIT for this game -- Zero Dawn was mind-blowing, imo. I'm happy this is coming out on PS4 and not just PS5!

I’m playing this right now on the PS5. The first game is still a gorgeous looking game, but this game takes up a notch. There are times I catch myself just looking around, taking in the scenery. It’s just a visual feast. As far as the gameplay, it’s been improved as well. Not perfect, but improved from the original. The story just keeps you wanting to dive deeper. This may end up being one of my all time favorites, with the likes of The Witcher 3. It’s a must play, if you like open world, action rpg’s.

I can't believe there are reviewers who has e this game the same score, or a lower score than zero dawn, as awesome as zero dawn was this game is a massive improvement, and I saw one review that gave it a 65.
That reviewer should be committed to a mental institution for an evaluation.
I know people's reviews are kind of their subjective opinion but if you give this game a score of 65 you are factually wrong.
This game is at least a 92 or 93 and I can't wait to get a copy for my PS5.

i played it back at release but just finished a quick main story main expansion story run through yesterday !! zero dawn has a really interesting story thats worth exploring
My save data messed up. I platinum the game. Moved to Ps5 and I bought dlc, I loaded up complete edition because I’m sure it was free. Well I was level 50 but at start of game. Was very annoyed. I personally think I messed up transferring data to Ps5. I may just give in and play it again. Especially since I bought dlc and not played it. 1 thing I’m absolutely dreading is the challenges to get those best weapons in game. I did it before but man it was so frustrating and I think I just got lucky before.
@@grahamkelly8662 the weapons are kinda meh till later you want the best armour as quick as possible theres actually a cheat/glitch ( there is vid on how to do it ) to get the best armour in the game early which is really helpful :) besides there is better weapons in the expansion but you really really need to be 30 plus to start that its brutal !!
I am looking forward to this game, but sadly can only afford one game this month and I went with Elden Ring. Definitely going to pick up Forbidden West as soon as I can because I loved the first one so much.
The story of the first one is one of my favorite video game stories ever. Found it to be very original. Very much looking forward to the sequel.

The first game started out a bit slowly. I thought it was good but not my cup of tea. Then after a few hours I really got into it. I’m looking forward to this game
Apparently this one suffers from the same thing as the first game which is it starts off slow for the first 10 hrs or so then ramps up after that

I am so psyched for this game! This has been my favorite "new" IP in video games in the past several years now, so I am all in! I don't own a PS5 yet, so I will be playing it on the PS4, but I understand it plays well there, so I'm sure I'll be happy.
Horizon Forbidden West is my most anticipated game for 2022 and I'm just glad I don't have to wait any longer

I'll definitely play it once I can actually buy a PS5 but still need to play the original game all the way through. I put in 8 hours and got bored of the first game and then got BotW and sunk 6 months into that, lol and never went back to HZD.
Breath of the wild is a slightly better game but horizon zero dawn complete is very close to it.play it,it takes time to get going but very well worth it.
@@garymoon6230 Ehh... I played enough HZD to know that it isn't near the greatness of BotW but I definitely will resume playing Horizon before I grab the sequel.

I really enjoyed the story in the first game. I came in with totally the wrong idea about the setting; let's just say I had no idea where I was but once I found out about the where and the when, and what Zero Dawn is, it kinda blew me away. My whole perspective of the game changed and the story became quite a bit more impactful and meaningful from that point on.
I'm definitely getting this. I played through Horizon Zero Dawn twice.
I'd like to see some information on how it plays on PS4 Pro, as I don't have a PS5.

I got Zero Dawn for free because of the covid give away from Sony. It is even too keep! I’m not subscribed anymore to their online service PSN, and it’s still running! Great game indeed!

I think the new update have downscaled the graphics a bit.
So it can run without problems.
When I was in photo mode the other day it was looking bit like a cartoon
No shadows & no textures & not realistic colours.
But still looks amazing
The only thing that matters for me is:
How good is the DualSense ?
How much the Haptic feedback emitting sounds and vibrate ? and how intensively ?
How many levels does the Adaptive Triggers are being used ?
and how many noticeable sounds did the Mic in the Controller ?
Is this game's Dualsense is as good as Astro's Playroom ?
Or spread throughout like in Ghost of Tsushima ?
The only person to review this game that actually blacked out the mission objectives, thank you for that, im so looking forward to playing HFW on friday zero dawn was and still is one of my favourite playstation exclusive games, and i just know forbidden west is going to be a fantastic experience.
I thought the original game was better than breathe of the wild and I kind of feel that way still, glad the sequel is living up to expectations.

Loved the first game, glad to hear good things about this sequel.
As a mostly PC gamer I had never heard of Horizon Zero Dawn. I only got it and tried it because Sony had made it a free PS download during the pandemic. So I got it and tried it out and it was solid. And as I'm playing I start recognizing locations and I'm like WTF. Turns out the starting location in ZD is where I actually live.
Waiting on mine, just a few more days, the first game was an enjoyable plat for me. The characters, the world, and the many different robot encounters were great fun. For a first attempt at an open world title, Guerilla did a great job; I can only imagine they have learnt from the experience of what worked and didn't and have a more refined experience for us this time.

I bought the first game day 1 but I also had breath of the wild. I played it for an hour and had to stop because I couldn’t climb anything like in BoTW and I didn’t feel a sense of adventure. So I came back to it like 2 years later and forced myself to play it and ended up loving it. The lore was very interesting. So I’ll give the next one a chance too. It was just the timing and early game of the first one which ruined it at first
I had just finished BotW too, so I wonder if that's partly why the 1st didn't click with me. I've wanted to give it another chance, but remember the clunky climbing and for some reason I got bored hunting the robots.
@@shawncline1485 play it if you can. It starts badly but once the story kicks in and you get into the other regions it’s great. The dungeon crawling to find Lore is amazing.

just bought a ps5 a week ago and its my 1st play station ive ever bought in nearly 50 years that ive been gaming horizon zero dawn is the 1st game ive played only a few hours in but wow what a joy the 1st game is.I'm a xbox gamer but i though ill buy a ps5 to see what its's like. And so far its been a blast. can't wait to play HFW.

Do you achievement/trophy hunt in the games you play or just focus strictly on enjoying the stories and moving on after completion? Keep up the awesome work brother!
ive read no but if you got the time its still a worthy dlc that may have a few little references to the frozen wilds in forbidden west!!

Comparing this game to Assasins Creed Valhalla leaves it in a very bad position.
AC has a much deeper lore, better combat mechanics with at least 20 abilities, a massive skill tree with 300 points that can make you create at least 30 or 40 types of playstyles.
Bigger maps, skill challenge dungeons, better inventory system and a more wide variety of sets , weapons and improvements. And finally it has better graphics.
One question. Does it have extensive photo mode like the previous one and like cyberpunk 2077 and farcry 6? Such as different poses?
