The Kendricks were my neighbors for 13 years and Carrie was my son & daughter's kindergarten teacher. Such a great family. We truly miss living near them.
Brings back memories. I came home on my mother's birthday. And she, (and most of the family,) didn't know I was coming. Only my Dad and older brother knew. After going out for an extended family birthday dinner, Dad had to make up some excuse to stop at the airport.

I have to fly this airport all the time and hate when families block the exits! I know it's a one-time event for them... but as a traveler, I see 4-5 families do this every time I'm leaving the airport. It's a nightmare to get through them all, as they are oblivious to others existing in the airport.
@@Mop2247-tx it used to be only letters and email, with FaceTime being only on Christmas and Mother’s Day. (That was the rule when I was a missionary.) But now they can FaceTime once a week (and still email/write letters along with it.)
The reason the stopped the person with the dent on his car is more likely to have worn tyres or lights out etc, and some damage can be "illegal" or make the car unroadworthy if its sharp etc. And whenever they pull you over they'll usually do a random breath test (and sometimes a drug test too)

We served that church for almost 18 years. Just because you didn’t think we were good enough doesn’t mean God didn’t.

@@susanmark2000 actually those are old mission rules. We talk to our missionary every week on the phone. To the person who made the original comment, we don’t go visit them in their missions, even if they are a few states away. We see them when they come home at the end of their missions.

Those crowds of greeters are so obnoxious. The new SLC airport has included huge greeting areas specifically to accommodate these people so they aren’t disrupting other travelers, airport staff, and flight crews reporting to work. There is no other airport that has this feature, or even needed one. And they STILL think they are more important than anyone else and continue to be a nuisance. They refuse to listen to airport security and are SO offended when a police officer has to be involved. Pick up your kid and have your big greeting at your home or at your Ward or Stake Center.
Sometimes they are the most obnoxious and I roll my eyes over the spectacle. but other times its fun to see the reunions and peoplewatch. Its especially fun to see the military as they see their family for the first time in years and for that its priceless and Im glad they have a place for this.Its good marketing in that way as people would want to use this airport over another for that reason. They are dedicated to their mission for two years. Only phone calls on Mother's Day and Christmas Day. No visits.
