    The problem is 15-20% off of something that's been marked up 50+% since the pandemic isn't really a "deal". Local dealer here has a fully loaded 23' Rubicon - MSRP 64k and it's been sitting at 46k. That battery alone needs to be replaced sitting that long with 10 miles on it. Who knows what other issues it'll have. All Gladiators, including the refresh need to be 25-30% off to get back to reality.

      Sadly I think Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler/Ram are on their way to going out of business. The prices of these vehicles started rising before 2020, they used the pandemic as a catalyst to raise prices even higher. YTers Kevin & Brittney from LiteBrite mentioned they bought their 2018 JLU Rubicon for around 40k. Now, that same Jeep cost around 60 to 80k without the 392 v8. The CEO talked about wanting to go up market, but they really managed to shoot themselves in the foot by alienating their core customers.

    • @ViolatioNVibratioN
      @ViolatioNVibratioN 3 месяца назад +1

      @@moparlife7269 they still aren't selling them though. Why spend 50-60k on a v6 mid size gladiator with terrible QC and reliability when you can get a full size truck with a v8 for the same price? If they want to move em they'll need to drop more. Look at the 24's. They are sitting too.

      @@Kori-T I think their comments on going up market were more focused on bringing the “Wagoneer” name as it should have been to being a Jeep… but yes, power seat and a bigger screen in the wrangler/gladiator isn’t my cup of tea… these are incredible machines for what they are but if they make them too bougie and focused on luxury then yes they will alienate there customers for sure… I bought my ‘20 Gladiator because I don’t like all the technology but I have wanted one since they came out… hopefully Jeep doesn’t use the wrangler/gladiator as a cash cow to float the rest of Stallantis…🤷‍♂️

      Where ya getting 50%. I bought a 2021 it was 46k 80th anniversary. Now a Willy’s or sports S is like 52k. My 23 Mojave was 64 which is ridiculous but I paid 54 which still sucks but a TRD pro is 50 sooo……

    I think Gladiators are the best deal going on now at Jeep. Dealers are trying to move them by slashing the sticker price on them. Like you said, with those kind of discounts, you can put the money into building it up. But the catch is going to be when you go to sell it. If they're having a hard time trying to sell them new, I think it's going to be even harder to sell them when they're used. The Gladiator just doesn't have the kind interest that the Wrangler has, so you're going to be working with a very limited market segment when you go to sell.

    I love a Gladiator after a lift, wheels and tires. I've spent a lot of money on my own JLU otherwise I'd pick one up for myself. If you don't need Rubicon or Mojave performance, consider a Sport with the Max tow package. Big brake kit, 4.10 gears, limited slip rear diff. Can be had for high 30s. Put a leveling kit on the front and some 285/75r17s or 35s with some wheels with a 4.5-5" backspacing and no regear needed with that 8 speed. And these are _easy_ mods you can do in your garage. Overlanders won't really need the lockers if they aren't doing 6+ rated trails.

    • @LV2Roam
      @LV2Roam 3 месяца назад

      Well said. If you don’t need esthetics that come with a Mojave or Rubicon and just need a solid base to start with I think you have the right idea. For me, I only like the gladiator with the paint matched fenders and hard top. And the 392 style hood. Most don’t need a front locker unless you are doing big rock crawl. Which was another reason I didn’t want a Rubicon I didn’t need the 4:1 transfer case. The seats have more bolsters in the Mojave too.
