  • Come on a garden tour of my RHS Tatton Park Alleyway Garden in it's new home. 2 months have gone by since I relocatedThe RHS & MEN Ginnel Garden to Moss Side, in Manchester UK. The garden was an RHS feature garden at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show and now forms part of a community hub. The garden has grow your own elements, wild flowers and has since seen a dramatic increase in Urban Wildlife since the gardens relocation.
@TheRHS thank you for allowing me to create this space for the community.

What a difference 2 months has made. The garden has literally come to life. Imagine if we had more of these in our urban spaces.
Let me know which part of the garden you love the most or which part of the video interested you most & I'll answer questions in the next update video 🥰

Hi from an English guy in south west Japan. Love the channel ❤. Growing up in the 70s, kids were very destructive too, but people mellow and I imagine those kids now tend their gardens and grow vegetables of their own.

This video is food for thought, it was so inspiring. I adore the colour pallet of the flowers you chose for the bath tub. It made it look so calm and elegant.

Whst a fantastic programme. We need more and more community activities such as this. People have become so isolated over the last 10-15 years. Developing community connection is so commendable. Thank you.

If the teenagers causing a ruckus in the garden are local, get them involved in planting and maintaining the garden, even if they are not from the homes adjoining the alleyway. Maybe then they will treat it with love and care. It is a lovely urban space. Hope there will be many more of them.

This was one of our discussions.. They felt like our alley was a safe and inviting space, most likely because their own alleys haven't been used. Yazmine spoke to them, and ever since, they have been respectful of the space.
I definitely think having more of these spaces is the way to go :)
As always, thank you for watching! ❤️

This is such a great transformation, it works on so many levels. You and the community should be very proud of what you have achieved, I am sure the connection with nature will be invaluable to young and old alike for their health and well being. Well done!

Wow the garden looks so beautiful!❤ We have the same problems here with teenagers in vienna. Trash everywhere, Cigarettes in the flower beds. I talked to them multible times, but they don't care much about it. Makes me so sad that some people did not respect our mother earth😢

Once there’s a will there’s a way. Teenagers just need some wise attention but the project is already a success 😅🎉

You're totally correct! It's really nice to know the kids felt that it was a safe space. Yazmine spoke to them, and since then they have been extremely respectful of the space. Engaging with them in a friendly manner has really paid off. Hopefully, we can encourage them to help us out on the garden in the new year and in return we'll be able to transform their alleyway :)
