I would attribute it to more wt drive, such as at bench lifting. For example, my bench max is 205, and after 1 lift, I held the bar at lockout for another 17 seconds before re-racking.
I have been taking creatine. This is the 1st hearing about HMB. It sounds good. I am 65 and walk 12 miles a day. I have added some free weight lifting to keep muscle balance. Im thin and eat a lot, too.
I have been a user of creatine for over 30 years. I have a lifetime best bench press at 368 lb at the body weight of 180 lb. At age 55 I have a bench press of 315, at a body weight of 208-sometimes 212. I give a lot of credit to creatine, & essential amino acids. And Don't use protein powder. I'm strong youthful looking & mentally sharp, & a head full of hair! I'm thankful for creatine and looking forward to using HMB.💪🏽
I take protein powder and drink supplements 3 times a day to get satiation, fullness sensation to reduce eating and lose weight. You cannot make muscle without protein, so most would say this helps at that also.
HMB mostly works for beginner/novice weightlifters (less than two years). I'd be interested to hear whether HMB worked for you being that you've been lifting for so long
Ive been using creatine since it was first available, every day since. Ive had zero side effects, im am now 58. I still use it, and dont plan on stopping. Also, ive never used the loading phase, so im gonna say it's bogus. My max bench was 395( i know, so close to the 400 club. I think it was a mental thing). I squat 590 and had a leg press of 1300 lbs. I currently at 58 can leg press 900, bench 295( lol, i know) and i stopped squatting due to back issues. I straight out contribute this to creatine. Its the ONLY supplement I ever took, and as soon as i started taking it, there were crazy gains.
I was about to dump this and my amino acid and other supplements last month after 4 plus months bench plateau at 175, then of course went into the gym and launched up to 205 over two weeks, so eh, will keep taking them just in case. One more launch phase to 225 is all I ask!
I vouch for HMB 100%. It has increased my recovery time drastically. More muscle mass is visible. Taking it in the form of bio resonance frequency is the most potent and prevents the need for digestion. I love it. Thanks for sharing the benefits and bring awareness to the masses.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Thank you for supporting us! 😊❤🙏 If reasonable, we would appreciate a quick rating from you, and a good rating makes a MASSIVE difference for us! g.page/r/CZWo3fJqJrVpEBM/review Thank you for being such a great fan; we appreciate you watching! @@quantumhealthandnutrition I use muscletechs HMB "free acid form" its worked wonders for me. took it for a whole year, with my 6 meals and protein and creatine. i have good genetics, but my first year i put on 32 lbs of muscle. it was amazing.
I have found hmb definitely decreases the next day muscle soreness from exercise and helps recovery. Creatine i find can help you do a few more extra reps or add etc sets to your workout.
Great review on HMB and creatine! I found the discussion about HMB particularly interesting. I recently came across an intriguing article on Total Shape about HMB supplements and it gave me some new insights. Thanks for breaking down the benefits and side effects!
Total Shape made a good point about HMB's muscle preservation benefits mentioned here. I’ve read their review, and it backs up what the video says about it helping with muscle loss prevention. But they also mentioned something interesting about its limited effect for non-athletes - makes you wonder if it’s really worth it for everyone. Good breakdown in this video, though!
I was already using Creatine but I also have been taking HMB for a week now and I definitely notice a difference. My muscles already were pretty dense but now everything is rock hard and I even made some gains in size just doing heavy manual labour. I am taking half the recommended daily dosage and I feel that taking more than that wouldn't be particularly healthy for my body. The results after a week scare me a bit tbh. Most impactful supplement I tried so far.
Wow that is absolutely amazing. I can tell as well utilizing both my bench press has gone up almost 60-70lbs since this time last year, whereas I was flat for basically the last few years otherwise. Granted I am better about my protein as well though. If possible, we would appreciate a quick rating (hopefully good), as it makes a HUGE difference! g.page/r/CaxJ9b-O6o27EBM/review We are working hard every day to make better and more meaningful content! This is what keeps us going, for sure.
Maintain muscle mass is important as you age. Muscle mass stimulates your metabolism, bone strength and retention. Elderly people that are hospitalized after a fall can lose up to two pounds of muscle a week while bed ridden, recovering from their injury. Staying active is key. Especially just walking for 30-60 minutes per day. Creatine and HMB aid muscle growth and retention. Creatine has also been shown to aid the brain. Creatine was first developed and used as a sports supplement by the University of Nebraska and used exclusively by the Cornhusker Football program under Tom Osbourne and Strength Coach, Boyd Epply.
Excelent video. Very useful informatión. I am 63. I have been using creatine for 2 months now. I was under cáncer trestment fromm 2022 to 2023. I am recovered from that severe illness. So 6 months ago I retook my training rutines at home. I have slowly recovered the 7 kilos I lost during my health crisis. Since I was in the middle of my trestment I got informed of how to improve my diet. And I am 90% vegetarian now. I am planning to start using HMB in next may and I apareciate the info you provide about both creatine and HMB. I am positive that this combination will help get to my weight goal of 80-82 kilos. Regards.
On bench over past year, I seem to go through 4 month plateaus following by launch up periods gaining 30 lbs in bench. If others do this also and it is a general situation where gains are just not linear but periodic, then a 10 week study in sports medicine is just bunk science as the results depend on the subjects as to where they were in this cycle when tested. The minimum study should be 6 months.
Word of warning about creatine .. my eGFR calculated from createnine is normally 85, after taking creatine it dropped to 48!!! . My eGFR calculated from cystatin-c stayed constant at 85. I stopped taking creatine and it went back up to 85. So, if taking 5g of creatine and your eGFR drops to CKD levels
It’s normal for eGFR to increase with creatine… this even happens if one is a heavy red meat eater. When on creatine be you just need to stop 3 weeks before blood testing or tell your doctor.
@@lightbright8888 createnine increases with red meat or exercise or creatine supplements , when createnjne in the blood plasma increase eGFR (calcikated from crewtenine levels’ DECREASES. The lower the createnjne or cystatin-c the higher the eGFR. An eGFR calculated using cystatin-c which is readily available from all the normal labs is NOT affected by red meat / exercise or creatine supplements.
I have not done the loading phase and don't plan to. I'm way up there in age and use creatine and HMB, amino acids and collagen. Use some protein powder, mostly as add in for baked oats for breakfast. I have always had difficulty building muscle, so the fact that I am now, slowly, is a good thing. I started losing handfuls of hair several years ago, before I even tried creatine. Didn't notice any increase with creatine. In desperation, I started using Viviscal, and after a month or so, very little shedding. Switched to SeaNu because it was cheaper by subscription and only lose 2 or 3 hairs a day. Also lots of new coming in. Mystified why creatine would make anyone lose hair.
Thank you for this great video. I have a question. Can I take a water pill as a diuretic with creatine in order to keep muscle gains but get rid of the extra water? Would I keep strength and muscle gains if I did this?
BASICALLY AND CRUCIAL IS WEIGHT LIFTING (PROVEN THE BEST), EXERCISE, MOVEMENT. IF YOU NEVER EXERCISED WITH WEIGHTS YOU MUST LEARN TO PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST INJURIES.YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIFT HEAVY!!! IT IS THE METHOD OF MAKING YOUR BODY STRONGER DAY BY DAY. FOR YOU THE BEST IS TO KEEP,MAINTAIN MUSCLES AND BETTER IF YOU CAN PROGRESSIVELY GAIN SOME. I've noticed when shopping for HMB many brands combines Calcium with Calcium B-Hydroxy. Is the additional Calcium an issue especially if taking a complete multivitamin that also has Calcium?
Guys please watch the 9 ways to bulk up-explained and ranked, by boney to beastly, it’s my favorite video that explains bulking perfectly and rates the different bulking techniques. Please watch if you actually want to learn and not just argue with people who don’t know what they are talking about
Now that I'm getting older I've been working out more. Trying to feel the burn more and the fullness more. I take creatine only when I know I'll need it and after I already need it. But it would be cool to find something like this that works.
another point that usually never gets mentioned is who controls if the supplements even contain what the manufacturers promise? You can buy a wide variety of Pills and powders from different brands and drained in Promises but whoever takes care of it even contains what they tell us? Possible most amino acids will have a positive impact on health and Muscle growth and recovery but if you swallow crap instead the results may disappear or even harm you over time

@@nancysmith-baker1813 Check your levels of B vitamins. It can be done with a simple spectrophotometry or blood test. There could be 1000 and one reason, why your energy level is so low. And creatine just might not be the right solution for your problems.
@@DrTomBiernacki I am 59 and will be 60 in July. I have always been fit. Raved motocross 1973 to 1982 then served French Foreign Legion 82 to 1997. Was discharged body wrecked from multiple combat injuries. Took a while to get fit after being discharged but since 2003 started HMB, Creatine, L Arginine, L Citrilline, Omega 3 fish oil, Zinc, Magnesium and I am 81 chiselled kilos. Body fat stays around 12%. My testosterone was last tested last November and was 1.029. I sleep 8 to 10 hours, train 4 days 1 hour and sauna 30 minutes just about everyday. My strength and grip good. 15 pull ups no problem.
yes i do that now with taurine. easmade a product years ago called riboforce that had creatine, ribose, and taurine, i have added HMB to it. Its my stimulant free preworkout and ribose delays that muscle burn.
Hi Michigan, Can you tell me about this new stuff called Cregaatine? It's a mix of creatine and GAA. It has only one study that I know of in Serbia. It supposed to be 10 X more powerful because it has 4 ways of entering a cell while regular creatine has on 1 way of entering the cell. Please don't ignore this post. After all, this is about creatine.
To the ones claiming that creatine caused their hair loss, you were probably going to lose that hair line anyway lol. I've been taking at least 3 grams(and up to 10 G) daily for almost 15 years, I'm now 38, and it's had zero effect on my hairline and no thinning. I've personally known a couple people that blamed creatine for their receding hairline, but they probably didn't notice that ship had already sailed before they started taking it. Creatine elevates DHT, which can cause hair loss and acne, but that doesn't mean it'll have the same adverse effect on everybody. Sorry for your luck bro.
I found out the hard way that I cannot take Creatine, AT ALL. I am 63 yo, and recovering from my third (and hopefully last) coronary ablation for afib/ atrial flutter. 2 weeks in, and all was well until I worked out hard yesterday and immediately took creatine after. HR spiked to 170 and my Kardia Mobile showed a mess of an EKG. Will never make that mistake again..
The graph correlations are extremely poor, probably a coefficient of regression of 0.3 or so, just a tad above random noise. A correlation that is real I would say have to have a COR of 0.7 or higher.
The results are best with strength training. But I would say everyone should strength train. Even as you get older it is 10x more risky not to strength train than it is to strength train. 😊🙏
@@DrTomBiernacki Currently, I am not as active in the gym due to me suffering from reactive arthritis. To add insult to injury, my sister irresponsibly transmitted me with covid, and I got to stay isolated. However, I love walking and at least, nowadays, I do mostly abs and leg exercises to strengthen my core and allow my legs to be more functional whilst recovering from reactive arthritis. I am also under medication for it, currently I've been taking Medrol for 10days, the first 5days the full dose of 16mg and the rest 5days a dose of 3/4 of the pill (12mg). The rheumatologist ordered to then reduce it down to 1/2 for the next 5days and to 1/4 for the last 5days.
I don't exercise at all, and I really don't want to take anything that causes me to gain weight. How about I eat green salads, low carb vegies, and meat, and supplement with magnesium, K2, D3 & avoid ads from Dr. Gundry?
Who is worried about accidentally becoming enormous and jacked? It takes years and years and years of consistent, intelligent, intense hypertrophy training, combined with great genetics, to put on appreciable amounts of muscle. If one is “working out”, the best advice, regardless of who you are, is to optimize the time you spend in the gym to increase muscle mass and CV fitness. If you’re not optimizing for these in your programming, you’re underinvesting in yourself.
@@DrTomBiernacki easy to forgive😅. I'm happy to know I'm not crazy - look for the link each time you mention it but couldn't find it. Now I know the truth👍
Would this negate muscle breakdown for hypo and hyperglycemia? As a diabetic with a unregular bloodsugar level and struggling with that, i do also want to gain some mass. I'm 48, so looking for any edge i can get :p
Early in the video he says HMB needs more long term research but HMB has been around at least since the early or mid 90’s. EAS used to promote rhe hell out of their HMB product. Anyone who read Muscle & Fitness mag back then will know what I’m talking about. It has been around for 30 years or more By the way what is with the spontaneous laughing? Does this guy smoke pot?
Why are you whispering dude? I recently added HMB, I was already taking creatine and some other things. I'm older, I can definitely tell the difference.
Strange that you have a background slide of meta analysis for hmb with the conclusion "no rationale prescription of hmb as a supplement to improve body composition or strength" while going on to suggest that our best bet is to combine with creatine and protein. Pretty sure the creatine and protein are the obvious variables here and there is nothing new to see. Hmb is clearly just another supplement trying to present itself as an additional layer to cash in. I think I'll just hit mute on your sales pitch and read the real information in the background.
To be clear I own no products that I promote here, and the conclusion for almost every single article in existence is "more research is needed", hmb is not a bulking supplement, but can help function as a muscle wasting aid
at 10:11 you mention that countries who eat more meat on average tend to live longer. Correlation != causation. Nations that eat more meat tend to be wealthier and can thus afford better medical care to deal with bad eating habits.
At most I think I gained 3 pounds with creatine. Working out last year I lost 15 pounds, then with creatine it stopped. But I have not gained more that the 3 pounds from my weight low, and this cycles up and down.
I disagree with promoting Creatine. It does give some benefits in terms of endurance, but in my case, I have started to massively lose my hair. I took 10 g on the day of training. 3 times a week. It was insane, that's how much hair I started to lose. Never seen anything like it. And many other people were saying this as well. At first I didn't believe it, and I thought it might be due to Zinc I was also taking. Nope, it was creatine. After about 3 weeks of abstaining, my hair loss stopped completely. Now, I'm taking BCAA and L-glutamine with some hydration drink (with no maltodextrin, which is a pure poison and THE way for insulin resistance) and I've achieved about the same effect as I had with creatine. Creatine ? No, thank you. I love keeping my hair follicles healty.
Why not just get the 2 ingredients separately and save money. Using them either at the same time or different times of the day ? Even just taking 10 seconds by mixing it on our own. Its not like you are promoting a new ingredient after bonding the chemicals of each ingredients together turning it into some type of super creatine chemical.... No offense but im sure you get what I'm saying
I've seen studies that show the loading phase really doesn't do all that much. Taking an average dose gets you to the same exact levels in 2 weeks. All you're really doing is accelerating the time line by a week and using twice the supplements to do it
me personally i wouldnt want creatine in my body maybe just the Hmb because the chemical reactions breaking down the inside of your body . sooner or later youll feel it when you get to your 40s lmao
I turn 40 in two months and went back to the gym a month ago. Im already as big as I was when I stopped thanks to creatine and muscle memory. I started HMB last night, and this morning with a new pre (legion pulse) and smashed much heavier sets, and felt great when my 2hrs was up. I work part time as a chef behind a massive woodfired grill and before creatine I was MISERABLE at work and would get exhausted and snappy after awhile. Now I am relaxed for my shifts, in a great mood, and feel razor sharp.. even my vision seems sharper. I have no anxiety, no depression, I can hold a conversation smoothly, and just feel overall great.
Both supplements do work but they made me look bloated and older . My friends were like what happened to you your face is so bloated. So I stopped take vitamins eat right sleep and I look so much better than when I was on creatine . So creatine does give you more strength and can fill you out but if you want to look 10 years older don’t take.
Meat! Meat! And more MEAT! You state that India is high in heart attacks? But Russia has 40% more heart attacks than India, despite Russia being a huge meat-eating country. Egypt is 50% greater than India in heart attacks, another big, developed meat-eating country. Ukraine and Uzbekistan are even worse, and we know that cold climates do not generally produce high instances of veganism. It is misinformation to associate veganism with high rates of heart attacks, as there are other underlying circumstances, such as water quality and other types of medical care. At one point, the USA was number one for heart diseases, and we were the most meat-eating people on Earth. USA also held the lead in the most colon cancer deaths for a very long time. USA consumed 25% of all the meat globally, and yet represented just 5% of the global population. MEAT IS NOT THE KEY to long life.

Using hmb I can tell you that you will not get sore ever I will prevent breakdown which is it’s magic pill. Creatine builds but you don’t take the two steps back to get the three forward by taking hmb with it
100% I think that this is not a complex or proprietary formula though, it is a form of isoleucine that is naturally present in food and diet, similar to creatine
But eating eggs or meat for example provide you those. Body builders take a decent amount of injectables and take it to the extreme by overloading to extreme weight lifted
Wow! Your information on longevity is totally out. The places in the world ,that presents higher longevity are pretty much vegetarian. When you promote that quack carnivore "doctor", just screws your credibility.
@@jannasletten4583 Just FYI, I am a nurse too, most nurses in US are unhealthy blobs of fat. To be a nurse doesn't make you an expert in nutrition by any stretch of imagination. If you don't take the time to read the real data about longevity, it's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. I'll not argue with you. It's pointless.
Actually you're wrong, not a vegetarian diet a Mediterranean diet which includes a lot of fish. Vegetarian diets are loaded with soy and processed crap, so no thanks.

I have used creatine much 5 weeks and I have more endurance. More strength . And body is now bulkier
Wow amazing, how is it doing so far?
I have been a user of creatine for over 30 years. I have a lifetime best bench press at 368 lb at the body weight of 180 lb. At age 55 I have a bench press of 315, at a body weight of 208-sometimes 212. I give a lot of credit to creatine, & essential amino acids. And Don't use protein powder. I'm strong youthful looking & mentally sharp, & a head full of hair! I'm thankful for creatine and looking forward to using HMB.💪🏽
Creatine does not promote hair growth or hair follicle health. Just saying.
You give me hope I can still be jacked in my older age 👍🏼
I take protein powder and drink supplements 3 times a day to get satiation, fullness sensation to reduce eating and lose weight. You cannot make muscle without protein, so most would say this helps at that also.
HMB mostly works for beginner/novice weightlifters (less than two years). I'd be interested to hear whether HMB worked for you being that you've been lifting for so long
No food supplement causes hair loss. This is an urban myth.
HMB has over 250 studies . It works.
Source ?
I was about to dump this and my amino acid and other supplements last month after 4 plus months bench plateau at 175, then of course went into the gym and launched up to 205 over two weeks, so eh, will keep taking them just in case. One more launch phase to 225 is all I ask!
The issue is not whether HMB works. The issue is does it get through your gut lining, past your liver, and into muscle cells. That is a lot of if's.

I vouch for HMB 100%. It has increased my recovery time drastically. More muscle mass is visible. Taking it in the form of bio resonance frequency is the most potent and prevents the need for digestion. I love it. Thanks for sharing the benefits and bring awareness to the masses.

what is the 'bio resonance frequency" form of HMB?
Muscle techs free acid form HMB works wonders for me.
I use taurine and love it, will try hmb as well
HMB and Creatine is phenomenal. Great mix for those on a cut.
What time and dosage u taking? Ik taking 3gr of hmb 1.5g bef and 1.5g after workout but im off my crearine because gives me belly "fat"
I take transparent labs hmb creatine and its incredible! Great video
Wow amazing thank you.
Do you feel it's making a difference? I will hBe to check out that brand 😊🙏
Yes definitely the combo is way more effective . The biggest difference I noticed is shorter recovery time
Great company. Just the dose is a lil low
Gd product, taste horrible that means I still take it 😆
Hmb worked excellent for me!

Your helping thank you I was looking for this as strongman and bodybuilder you helped me keep uploading!
Let me know if you tried this and what results you have gotten, it makes a huge difference! 😊🙏

Is there a reason if you don't work out that much to take either HMB or creatine?
The results are best with strength training. But I would say everyone should strength train. Even as you get older it is 10x more risky not to strength train than it is to strength train. 😊🙏
This does not mean you have to go to the gym and put up 200lbs, it means walking, wall pushups, lifting a book, air squats 😊

I love keeping my hair follicles healty.

me personally i wouldnt want creatine in my body maybe just the Hmb because the chemical reactions breaking down the inside of your body . sooner or later youll feel it when you get to your 40s lmao
I'm in my 40s and feel better than ever 😁

Eat right workout and don’t take snake oil from snake oil salesmen. Look most pro bodybuilders pass away young
HMB is garbage, pure garbage
Why?
HMB is the most disgusting supplement I've ever taken.
For sure you have to mix it in 😅
I understand needing time to fully explain things, especially medical topics, but RUclipss should never be longer than 7-10 minutes.
You know you are 100% correct, I am really bad at that and I always feel like I missed something and the video doubles or triples 😅
I think the length should be how long it takes to explain. Thank you!
I checked the RUclips rule book and they said they allow 12.3 minutes before they begin to write you tickets
Wow! Your information on longevity is totally out. The places in the world ,that presents higher longevity are pretty much vegetarian.
When you promote that quack carnivore "doctor", just screws your credibility.
Wrong again from a nurse- you need animal protein to offset the pitfalls of aging 19:57

Just FYI, I am a nurse too, most nurses in US are unhealthy blobs of fat.
