Replacing Leaky Oil Pan Gasket on Jeep 4.0

- On this episode we replace the oil pan gasket on my Jeep WJ with a 4.0. The overall process is pretty simple. You need Jack up the Jeep so the front axle is drooping, to drain the oil, remove the bolts around the pan, remove the starter and the pan will drop out. Overall this is a simple project but it does take time and you will get oil everywhere but it is worth it to fix the leaks.

Great rundown! Looks pretty simple but a bit of a headache with those damn cats in the way!
It is simple just tedious
I did mine about a year ago pretty eazy but I did the rear main seal at the same time
Thanks again...this helped..I didn't want to remove the exaust...
Ok that's semi difficult but great video jon
Definitely doable though but I’m not sure a beginner would feel comfortable doing this
Been luck have not had any leaks just a little from the transfer case. Liking the content lot easier with a lift. Stay safe, my friend
Thanks brotha! It is
I use do the rear main when I do the oil pan gasket just have to remove rear main cap..
Yes that’s the smart thing to do😂
True brother i enjoy your videos. But all that wny not the rear main seal?
You’re not wrong. But it’s not leaking engine oil anymore💪
Do it for a 4.7! I need to do mine and need a video to watch hahah 😅
You have to lift the motor up a little bit it’s a pain
😂 how hard was that?
@@NajarOffroadwell I’d say hard
I did it in a 06 4.7 durango had to pull both cv axles... and the front pumpkin. On the ground... it was a nightmare.. then the oil dipstick broke after i wiggled it around .. had to pull the upper intake and then pry it out of the hole in block. Nothing but rust buckets.. im going to try this method tomorrow. My oil man blew out on highway.. took 8 qrts to make it 40 miles.. ..04 wj 4.0.. praying this guy didn't have a body lift.. we will find out
How do you know whether it's the old pan or the main seal leaking?
Because it hasn’t leaked yet😂
