the electric resto mod isn't horrible. If the range is near what the Model S plaids etc are then I say go for it... As for how CEMA is going to a partial build stuff - I am okay with as long as the product they are showing is the show case.. so if they are a body kit - make a few cars with the body kits (who cares if they run that isn't the point of the company), if they are wheel/tires go with builders that have amazing full moving cars that you can highlight YOUR wheel/tires on there. as for the bluetooth drive shafts or nonworking builds... I agree if you want the car to run, then it should run. and if there are projects that didn't make the timeline - then they should go in a different spot to be shown that way. either way great review.. and maybe one year I will get to see these in person.. keep up teh fun cheers.
The Hemi is sticking around in the big trucks for a few more years. They're working on a new "magnum" V8 for the cars, but I doubt it finds its way into the HD stuff. The displacement is rumored to be 4.4L.
Yea I think the 6.4l is sticking around as a stop gap till cummins releases their new 7.2l diesel and 6.7l gas engines for Ram 3/4 and 1 tons. TFL Truck has teased both of these engines
That, the lifter issue and exhaust manifold issue. I love my hemi and would like to buy another ram when my truck needs to be replaced. But I’m not going to buy one without a v8.
That was primarily a first gen hemi issue. The second gen (still didn't particularly like idling for too long/ wouldn't make enough oli psi at idle) and had bad exhaust manifold bolts. The 3rd gen hemis just have bad exhaust manifolds. Super prone to cracking. I've owned my 2022' Ram 1500 for 70k and have had no issues but are planning on getting longtubes once they do. Otherwise really bo issues. Pretty stout motors
Of the two Grand Nationals, the Ringbrothers' Invader is the better looking one. They kept the roots of the vehicle alive and didn't go overboard on the exterior. Aside from the color and the hood, it's almost a "sleeper".

Power Wagons are awesome, mission-oriented trucks. They cannot perform as needed with the inline 6, it simply does not have the stones to replace the 6.4 Hemi and still be able to heave that immense truck up steep slopes and over large rocks.
The best part of Sema these days is seeing the 4-6 good cars and the endless compilations of Bluetooth drive shafts, missing parts, things not working, etc etc
I actually kind of like the GTX electro retro mod build. I think that’s a good idea to do that to classics that aren’t going to be completely collectible and use cars like that to do it.
The Gas Monkey truck is NOT a stepside bed, it's a regular short bed with dually flares that made it so wide, it wouldn't fit in a trailer. They had to pull the rear wheels and flares off of it to ship it to the show.
I think EV restomods are a good idea. Eventually more people will want EVs, and it's also a way to make older cars future proof. Although I do see it as more of an option for smaller cars like old Beetles, Minis, etc. because they have a hard time getting out of their own way!
The thing that scares me most about the Hurricane 6 is the complexity is going to require it go to the dealer, my local dealer has made it quite clear their service department is not to be trusted, guess it's back to Fords and the wonderful V-7 engines and leaking cabs that according to my dealer is "normal" and "they're all that way" and never mind there's a TSB out on the leak.
.. I agree, what's the point of showing a car that's not finished yet.. as a Brazilin I can't defend my fellows, not even Anderson's Delorean whit a Ferrari engine that's not finished yet.. but SEMA organization should put rules on that, accepting only cars that runs.
If only the "Brothers" banged their heads together to come up with a GN that had the body, wheels, and suspension of the black one with the drive train and interior of the gray one!
I hope they bring back the HEMI. Making the new Charger, Challenger in EV is a big mistake, even though I appreciate EV performance, the experience is the sound. Mind you in the truck I have a deposit on a RamCharger because I want some fuel economy. Both Grand Nationals were fantastic.
The crazy lighting at SEMA always, always makes it hard see what a car actually looks like. Unfortunately, the lighting was good on the Merc's and they are nightmare fuel.

Within the next 12 months, Dodge will produce a 5.7L Hemi Charger as it seems that it can be accommodated in the new platform (sans R wing). My guess is that the 6.4L can also be shoehorned into the platform with minor adjustments to the front strut towers and the addition of a "power bulge" hood (like the 71-74 Chargers). I wonder if they will be able to sell the 4,000+ 2023 Chargers and Challengers accumulating lot rot on dealer showroom floors by then?
Let’s not let our dislike for technology get in the way of dealing with climate change. Our children and future generations will be greatly impacted by these sorts of decisions. I’m getting a little tired of the dumbing down of the car people ignoring the obvious results of our gasoline addiction. I’m saying this as a proud owner of a Coyote powered Mustang knowing this is my last pure gas powered car , but the writing is on the wall .

The grand national LS7 twin turbo is very tasteful and a twin turbo LS7 is the perfect engine for that car
