The guys in my high school choir sang this and I can still remember the tears I’m everyone had by the end every time they did it. Incredible piece of music and this choir really nails it.
I think the best part of this song is at the end, when all of them are saying how they don't want to die, and as the music fades to piano, people realize that they don't all get to go home. The effect it has is outstanding.

Hi there! This is Mike Kregler! No, really! What an excellent performance of Soldier's Elegy! To whoever posted it, thank you so much for uploading it and for the efforts and talents of both director and students. I hope it's OK that I plan to embed this moving performance on my website (www.michaelckregler.com) which will be up and running in a day or so - you'll be able to check out other Kregler music there, both published and unpublished works. What an honor - again, thank you!

What a great looking choir. Very nice vowels, nice blend, excellent phrasing. It's clear this choir has a lot of respect for the director.
